It is easy to sit in front of the computer to complain. Like dogs, barking is easy. What are you going to do beside barking and complaining? Can you do it better? Can you produce a 'BETTER' photo show? If you have better ideas, you produce a pilot show and submit to Leo. Leo is a greater man to accept all inputs.
"Don't judge my journey until you've walked my path."
Way more interesting than the actual 1st episode. Without guest, there really was no content. I would expect more from Lisa and can they please edit out all of her 'like's?
Leo I'm a big fan and luv your casts but I have to agree with the others here - photography is a little different art/tech mix and you probably should give the experts more space. I'm glad to see you following along and asking questions as things are explained as a reinforcing technique, but it's probably best to stay focused on their words and not throw in tangents. Maybe more of a Triangulation than iPad Today approach. This show can be killer but please let the experts drill down.
I love Lep Laporte I also Love Trey Ratcliff but come on Leo you keep cutting off Trey when he speaks you cut him off when he is trying to show everyones his process. It's like trying to teach a class and you have a child constantly interupting the class to the principles office Leo.
Oh, and I neglected to comment 'cause I was limited to 500 characters, but, is it me or does Leo have a uber "it's good to be the king" high frequency response mircrophone?
OK, I watched about half of the video, and if the subsequent presentations are based on photographic "banter," then you ain't sold me. I want substance! There are far too many good, free, photography webinars out there. I don't want to waste my time on imagery socializing. I know Trey and Lisa have substance to offer.
And, I think Trey needs to produce his own webinars on HDR photography...it's the trend. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't he Jimmy Palmer on NCIS?
Dear Leo. This is not the Leo show. It is not about you or your golden voice. This promised to be so informative and valuable, but I got so little out of it. Every time Trey or Lisa was about to give us a pearl wisdom, you interrupted. So all I heard was the opinions of someone who admits his work sucks. Why would anyone want to watch that? Leo, go and sit in the audience and let them re-shoot it. You will get a thousand times more people watching. Probably 1000000X.
Leo was winding me up at the beginning - too much interrupting and he kept stopping short what looked like they'd be interesting discussions. But he got better and by the end I was already wondering when the next episode would appear. Good show.
For whatever reason,Trey never utters the words "NIK HDR Efx Pro". It is a great option to Photomatix(nothng wrong w/Photomatix) It can be plugged into Aperture, Lightroom, or Photoshop. If you don't want to pay the high price for Photoshop and want to achieve great HDR photos use Lightroom or Aperture with the plug in from Nik. HDR Efx from Nik also has "Control Point" technology which allows you to adjust specific areas of the HDR photo without the longer process of creating layers in Photshp.
I am sure it would be great if you could get a word in edge wise.
Leo.. I am sure you have never met a microphone you didn't love.
Good show - or the idea of it is good - casual, informative, demonstrative, etc etc... but shut up Leo. Two ears on mouth.. twice as much listening as talking.
Please tell the host of the show to shut the fuck up when he asks a question, and a guest starts to answer it. Thats so rude!!!! Let your guess finish!!
Why interviewing if you don't listen to the answers. I wanted to hear Trey explain about the halos. After that interruption I couldn't take it any more.....
The host is fine but he just needs to allow the guests to take the floor and explain without his interuptions, this could be a great show if the guests are allowed to actually explain,at the end all i could hear was the host, slightly annoying, but look forward to progression of this show...
This has all the earmarks of a great program! I found this particular episode to be very informative. I like to see program to really expand on how to make something (ie, great photos) from next to nothing (ie, not the best locations) using next to nothing (ie, minimal/basic equipment).
Why? Why do hosts like Mr. Laporte think we tune in to listen to them? Ask a question, shut up and let the professionals you have on the show share their knowledge and experience.
Credit to Mr. Ratcliff for not losing his composure during the constant interruptions.
I would like session(s) on how to create a quality HD webcast (like TWIT). What is needed to produce high quality video, great color and clarity. How to set up lighting and white balance. The equipment to use and how to set up / arrange. How to get great audio and have it fed into the video. Post production tips and techniques.
I am a returning Leo fan. Sad since Lab with leo went away. Fan of Trey ratliff - so that brought me over here. What a treat!! Here's to many great episodes. Suppose I should spend more time in the pod world.
This show has potential BUT only if the host can let the guests finish a thought/sentence. Sooo frustrating to watch and I can imagine how the guests feel...
Interesting concept for what could potentially be, a cool show...but the host is too darn annoying with his interruptions....let the guests finish their thoughts and, heaven forbid, a sentence!!!

I tried to find your flickr group "mostlyphoto" but couldn't find it, please provide a link, thanks, the show seems to have a lot of potential, I'm definately waiting to see the next edition.
This had the potential to be a fascinating show, but let the guests speak FGS!! It’s so frustrating to start to follow someone’s explanation, for him to be then cut off as he gets into it. There was about 20 minutes of real content in this.
If Leo was trying to stop things getting too technical, next time please work out these ground rules before broadcast. The show has the potential to be fascinating, but as it stands is just a frustrating mix of unfinished themes.
I do agree that Leo seemed to be a little anxious and did cut off Trey and Lisa several times, but the show is listed as a beta so hopefully when they start it will get better. The show got better once Lisa started to talk more. Hopefully the hosting duties will be moved to her since she is the photographer on the two. Hopefully she will take the lead in the future. I check Trey's site for tips several times week. So I really liked hearing him talk about HDR. However the annoying Leo dang near ruined it...! Very frustrating.
Maybe Trey wil sit down without him sometime and give us the whole story.
leo is annoying as fuck. how rude can an interviewer be in terms of interrupting the guests? wow. seems like he got his "interviewing" technique from Bill O'Reilly.
As much as I love the techy talk, the real discussion I'm interested in is less about how to configure the camera and more about learning to have a better eye.
It doesn't matter what camera or settings you have, if you can't point the camera in the right direction and pull the trigger at the right moment, you aren't taking better pictures.
Fantastic! Trey is awesome! Please have him on the show often, very interesting information and tips. I am a beginner, so it was not too technical or intimidating. Lisa is great at sharing her enthusiasm and insights. And I enjoy Leo very much too. This show will be a winner. Looking forward to the new studios and this new show on TWiT. Inspiring!
WOW... Leo is so distracting.. almost to the point of being rude to his guest..with his YIKES!! incessant talking & interrupting. Trey handled it nicely with his usual zen-like tranquility. That show could have been done in 1/2 the time or contained twice the content... either way would have been good. Leo, I love ya man and watch you on my Roku box so this is meant to help you out. TWIT TV shows are just too draggie long from all the chatter... and I lose interest or skip ahead to the meat
I want a DSLR that takes photos + videos & is driven by Android so I can use all the apps with a pro camera and nice lenses. Have you heard of a manufacturer developing this kind of product (Nikon, Canon)? How about a DIY project? Are there any DSLR hobby kits that would be a good place to start and build my own? I guess if I am doing DIY, I could use an iPod Touch instead of an Android handset.
Pedantic. Trey is a wealth of technical, anecdotal, procedural, and inspirational things to say. Every time so far - I'm half way and it's difficult going on - Trey mentions something that could lead to insight, the MC reels the conversation back into sophomoric pablum. He talks to Adobe, he uses the stand alone rather than the plug in, his views on efficiency - each has a story. Leo does not listen.
Furthermore, Trey has stories that could take several shows. Russia, India, England, &more.
Great first show! I recently bought my first DSLR and I have a shoestring budget so I like that you're aiming to demonstrate tips and techniques that are in reach of people like me that may not have all the great gear. I hope the show sticks.

Leo. With all due respect. Shut the hell up. You completely ruined this entire video. You're not a real photographer so stop interrupting on things you dont really know about. Present the show, dont murder it with your mindless/redundant mutterings.
OMG Leo, shut up! Trey was giving excellent info and you broke the pace of the show. So annoying. I doubt he reads this, but anyone near him, please let him know he's becoming more and more unbearable, he does this on all of the shows, and the hosts and guests seem annoyed as well.

Luckily Trey was able to push through the interruptions and deliver some content. Sadly Lisa who I'm sure had a lot to contribute was too polite to interrupt others so we didn't hear much from her.
@khunjohn THANK YOU for saying it.....I was watching this great video of the pilot episode and Trey had such useful and wonderful things to say, as well as LIsa who quietly tried to insert her own points but were both constantly being interrupted by Leo's obnoxiously rude interjections! Leo, please let the experts speak. You keep bashing yourself because you see yourself as an amateur yet you keep interrupting while the experts are CLEARLY irritated. They respect you too much to say something.
I noticed Leo has become a bit more "Interuppity" since his return. Maybe caught something in Patagonia. ( I just wanted to type Patagonia). He has done it with a few of the guests.
Oh snap, another good show that will take my time ;)
Great show, and I really hope it will take off properly and become a weekly or at least biweekly show. And of those 80 days 8000 photos, I got caught in by a few from places I recognized since I was in New Zealand over this christmas and new years. instantly recognizable.
