Thanks mate :-) I've been making a living with music since my early twenties, but not with D&B beats. Gigging, teaching, publishing drum books etc. Would love to make a living just with D&B, but that's not easy.
@Jungleritter you should google saluda cymbals they custom make cymbals to any thickness and size that you want, but they have varying degrees of endorsements, if you were to email them and tell them about your videos and how many views you have im certain they would give you some sort of endorsement
Hey mate, thanks so much for the kind words :-) I just checked another planet but I can't hear that we were using the same synth sound, but you never know nowadays, everybody is using the same plugin's and software synths, everything became so cheap and accessible, which is really cool :-)
ive got to say dude ive watched every one of your videos and what stands out to me the most, besides the completely sick drumming, is your high hats theyre just so crisp and they go with the music so well. i just wanted to say great job man i really enjoy your vids and you've inspired me to take up DNB drumming and thanks to you im getting pretty good, thanks for posting the vids man.
i love what youre doing...and ALL the gems and jewels you share with us in your videos...i just got a jungle sonor snare today. the way you customized yours is creative. FUNTIMES
Gotta love Christopher Walken for that, hahaha. The play-alongs come with the cowbell because there are many sections in the songs where there are only pads, atmospheres, this would be very hard to play along without the cowbell. It resembles the live-on-stage situation where you would have to play along with a click or cowbell.
Thanks :-) There's an equipment list on my webpage drumgate . com
Everything I use is listed there. I switch my cymbals sometimes, especially the ride and some of the effect cymbals. Check it out and let me know if you wanna know something specific.
You can preview the songs for free at iTunes or CDBaby and then pick the ones you like. I use them almost daily, they're great for trying out beats without having the drum loops cluttering the track. What do you mean with Play-Along lessons? To show and explain drum beats you can use with these songs? That's something I wanna do in the near future..
That´s actually a very good question :-) The metronome is on the CD, of course, since these are play-alongs. They simulate what you would have to deal with in a live situation: playing along with a sequenzer/DJ/laptop, you name it.
I heard something making a low cow bell kinda noise throughout the video. I think it was something you heard to help you keep the pace of the music but I'm not sure if we're supposed to hear it. Everything sounded pretty good though. Dunno could be my speakers.
This is called a click-track, that´s something you need most of the times to be able to play with sequenced music. You would´t be able to play those play-along songs without it.
Yeah, they got a little dusty lately :-)) My video "A conversation with my drums" uses a lot of toms, check it out. D&B music doesn´t need more than one tom, but that´s a hybrid kit since I play other styles as well.
3:50 those are such cheeky little ride hits

That´s a Sonor Jungle Snare custom build. Turned upside down with a metal plate attached, I called it my Trash Snare :-)) Great for D&B style

I think there us too much outside music.
I can barely hear the drums.
Maybe a little bit exagerated background music or it's just the drums very low in volume.
ShadowDatsas 1 year ago 7
yeah i think the drums are a bit undermixed.
