  • Just to clear everything up. All of The Beatles records were issued in stereo & mono in the sixties with the exception of Let It Be & Abbey Road which never received a mono issue. When the catalog was first issued on cd in 1987 the first four albums were presented in mono and the rest of the catalog in stereo.

Nothing was remixed for the first time for the 2009 issues as these were all original vintage sixties mixes w/ each box containing either the mono or stereo catalogs.

  • Fav. song : Hey Jude Fav. Album : Abbey Road I do not have a favorite Beatle,I am a fan of all four.

  • @stealth22a I bought one off ebay for $100 just last month and it turned out to be a bad bootleg - so I got my money back and will keep looking for one at a decent price

  • Favorite Beatles song(s)? Too hard to choose but i love in my life, while my guitar gently weeps revolution and much much more ha

Favorite Beatle? George Have you seen the movie "A Hard Day's Night"? Yeah it's one of my favorites Are you going to buy Rock Band or any/all of the remastered CDs? I have the ebatles rock band :) and still want to remastered CDs

  • Fave song: I Want to Hold Your Hand

    Fave Beatle: Paul

Have I Seen A Hard Day's Night?: Yes

  • My favorite song is I've Just Seen A Face, and my favorite album is Rubber Soul and then it goes, A Hard Day's Night, and The White Album.

I've fought with myself over having a favorite Beatle, I never could pick and I don't think I ever will but George, I love his humor and of course his music.

A Hard Day's night I have seen and also Help! I perfer A Hard Day's Night over Help! though.

People find it funny that I'm 18 and I LOVE The Beatles. Well keep laughing cuz my love ain't going nowhere.

  • Fun video mate. My favorite album is Magical Mystery Tour (I really think it's their most underrated album of them all) ANd my favorite song is Strawberry Fields Forever. And IF you're wondering about getting the Mono box set, go get it I just got mine and they sound phenomenal in Mono!

  • Yeah - I still want the Mono box - I'll get it in Dec.

  • Favorite song too many to name! Favorite Beatle is Paul. Sorry I forgot to sign my comment below!

     Sharmin

  • Jason, did you hear that Lucy "In the sky with Diamonds" passed away? Accordning to what I read, she was never a Beatles fan and did not like the song. She was honored though that John would use Julian's drawing of her as the inspiration for the song that became a hit for them.

  • yeah - I even Twittered about the article I saw.. :)

  • Fuck iTunes, Why Wouldn't You Want A Physical Copy Of Their Music?! I Hope They Never Go Digital.

Long Live The CD And Vinyl.

  • I'm with you as far as I am totally gonna buy all the CDs - I love the packaging, etc. But the reality is that more and more people buy and play music thru a digital interface. If the Beatles do eventually end up on iTunes, it'll be big news.

  • Ide have to say Tomorrow Never Knows :D

  • Setting the mood? :p lol

  • favorite Beatle Is Paul McCartney favorite song at the moment is Ticket to ride and yes i have seen a hard day´s night,Help,Magical mystery tour an Let it Be and much more i´m 17 and i love the Beatles the are the best.

  • my favorite song: all beatles songs!!!!!!

  • thats the immortal john lennon :D

  • Humm, this is a hard one. Off the top of my head it's "Penny Lane". I love most of the songs on Sgt Pepper. Next would be "Eleanor Rigby" and the third would be "Let it Be". It's odd because these haven't really changed over the decades. To listen to the albums I had to make sure dad was at work and hide in the basement because he didn't want scratches on the vinyl. I spent hours looking at the Sgt Pepper cover with a magnifying glass :D

  • good choices - so I take it you're mainly a Paul fan since all your top songs are Paul tunes.

Yeah - Sgt Pepper is a great album to pore over

  • I hadn't really thought of that. To me the Beatles are a package deal - we can't have one without the other. I never did like Wings, and I love "Give Peace a Chance".

  • LOVE Wings. i think none of them were the best without eachother. but in my opinion i like paul the best.

  • strawberry fields forever.

    sgt pepper (Best album)

i have seen a hard days night...i own it.

and i got beatles rockband..and the stereo box set.

i didnt want the WHOLE mono box set. i actually just want pepper in mono.

  • cool - I'm sure you'll be able to borrow Pepper in Mono from a friend in the coming months...

    How is Rock Band?

  • the rockband is actually better than i thought. highly recommended and im not even a big video game fan and i love it!

  • yeah - everybody I've talked to on the past few weeks that got the game is loving it - sounds like fun!

  • Come on guys my favourites RINGO!

  • A day in the life is their most awesome song but they have so many though. But if I'm gonna pick a lennon/mccartney, and then I mean a REAL, lennon/mccartney it would be that one. A favorite beatle? Well, I have different ones from different times, right now it's Paul. But it used to be George and before that, Lennon.

Cheers, and I hope they release "carnival of light" and "helter skelter (full 20 min. version)" as bonus tracks for sgt. peppers and the white album remasters respectively.

  • Then I'll buy them directly.... Too bad I only have downloaded tracks with them, but I'm seeking vinyls cus they are original you know? I have a hard day's night at least :)

  • I have original vinyl of Sgt Peppers and Abbey Road in storage - but no record player to play them on... :)

  • That's a pity, you need to get one, awesome feeling. I wish I had those albums, I have heard Abbey Road on vinyl once though, my cousins had it and I went like "WOW! Can I play it?" and yeah. Great record.

  • All the articles I have read about the box set and stand alone album remasters the word remix was never mentioned. The mono and stereo box are both sold out for now. EMI/Capitol are making more and shipping them ASAP.Very informative video!

  • yeah - looking at my finances, I think I'll have to wait until they get more... But I oh so want to go out tomorrow and buy the box

  • I would like to have the mono box as well. Cannot afford it either. I am going to get the stand alone albums.

  • Apparently Taisha they have NOT remixed the albums as you said at one point as remastering is not the same thing. The album 'Love' was REMIXED which why the QUALITY of sound on that is so good even if you dont like the way theyve mixed the material

  • ahh - ok - sorry if I misspoke.

  • I am in the same boat! Right now, I'm unemployed and I oh so wish I can buy the box set of the stereo versions.

  • just download that shit u loser why would u buy it unless if u want the box because ur a die hard fan

  • Actually - one of the rumors turned out not to be true - The Beatles didn't become available on iTunes, so you can't legally download Beatles music yet - people are now saying that by Xmas perhaps.

  • i. all of "rubber soul", second choice "the white album". impossible to pick one song!!

    2. lennon as beatle and solo

    3. a dozen times at least

    4. don't play video games, and daddy has the cd's covered ;)

fun fact: my parents own every beatle album in vinyl, most in perfect condition, and, in fact, listen to all of their music on vinyl.

  • ps. sweet video, thanks:))

  • A day in the Life.... just love the 'blew his mind out in a Car' line.... John 4 sure, alough i have meet Paul (my father was a Dj on pirate radio) and he was really cool..... havent seen it, should???i always thought of this movie as somthing they themeslves wouldnt be proud of... and as far as albums i will take u up on your suggestion... i only know Anthologies, but i think there is somthing to be said for albums... there like books and there is a ceratain unity to them.

  • questions and answers...

    1) golden slumbers/carry that weight

    2) John Lennon

    3) yes, I liked HELP! better

    4) no, i'm not gonna buy rock band. the first two cds i want to buy are Abbey Road and Sgt. Pepper's

  • you liked "Help" better than AHDN?? :)

Are you sure your favorite Beatle isn't Ringo?? :D

  • i like all the beatles but ringo is my least favorite. mine are in order: john, paul, george, ringo

  • when you get the box set show us a video of it

  • my favorite Beatles song is...

the last one i heard. can't choose just one

i pre-ordered the mono box set

  • very cool - would love a product review when you get the Mono box

  • You said that you watched all the documentary's, did you happened to see, Stuart Sutcliffe - The Lost Beatle, DVD.

  • can't say that I've seen that one... Do you recommend it? I can hunt it down...

And I thought Pete Best was the Lost Beatle... :)

  • I would highly recommend it. It is when they were playing in Hamburg Germany. Very sad story.

  • Ordered The Mono box and The Beatles rock band aswell! Come already 09.09.09! :)

  • ohhh- I might end up being jealous of having that Mono box - looks like it might end up being hard to get...

  • 1 - What is your favorite Beatles song(s)?

While My Guitar Gently Weeps and In My Life

2 - Do you have a favorite Beatle?

    Ringo and George

3 - Have you seen the movie "A Hard Day's Night"?

    Fantastic film, so yes.

4 - Are you going to buy Rock Band or any/all of the remastered CDs?

No to Rock Band, maybe yes to the box set...depending on my cash (uni student).

  • I guess you'd have been pretty young even in the late 70's, but "album sides" persisted into the early 80's. I don't know how long into the CD era they did this because I stopped listening to the radio in college.

  • Hey Jude

    Let It Be

    While My Guitar Gently Weeps

    Revolution 1

    White Album

    Abbey Road

    Paul

You might also remember that in the 70's some radio stations liked to play full "album sides", mostly during late night hours. There were a lot of fine prog rock choices in the 70's, but Abbey Road fared quite well, too; usually side 2. And younger readers probably have no clue what I'm talking about :)

  • You might need the old albums if they are DRM-free and if the new albums aren't.

  • Why? please explain....

  • WOOO! I want free stuff. Maybe I should start listening to The Beatles now. Hm...

  • very tough question. but... strawberry fields forver, penny lane, a day in the life,, with a little help from my friends or she loves you ! lol THE dumbest question ever. how can you choose?

  • 1. Fool on the Hill ( my anthem)

    2. Elanor Rigsby

    3. Want a Revolution

    4. Octopus' Garden

    5. Two of Us - Favorite Beatles : Sir Paul

And yes, I have seen all their movies that are available.

  • its all about Eleanor rigby

  • 1. She's leaving home or I Am The Walrus

    2. No favourite

    3. No

    4. Definitely buying Rock Band Beatles.

  • 1. Can't choose one, but I'll go with "When I'm Sixty-Four" as it's one of my current favorites.

    2. John Lennon

    3. No

    4. No As much as I'd like to own one of these sets, they are just too much money considering I own all of their material already. But the obsessive collector within tells me otherwise!

  • In order: "Let it Be" and "Hey Jude"; Paul; yes.

I worship their music (I was 5, 6, when they went global), but not their movies at all.

From 1967 to 70, as a wide-eyed pre-teen, I received every Beatles' single release as some kind of revelation, even though I couldn't understand a word they sang.

As the story was then told on radio, their splitting up was all Yoko Ono's fault and up until this day I can't stand her face. Childish, I know, but it's true. "It's getting better all the time!"

  • A Hard Days Night is probably the only black and white film i really enjoy!

  • Best song; Come Together.

    Favorite Beatle; John Lennon.

  • I wouldn't like to pick a favourite song, but Ringo is easily my favourite Beatle. Maybe not the most musically talented, but always seemed the best bloke.

Yes, I have seen AHDN! First saw it in a Film Studies class in college and loved it, coincidentally re-watched about 3 weeks ago on DVD, just a fun film to watch.

I'd love to get the new CDs, but I'm off to university in less than 2 weeks, so there's going to be no splashing out for me for a good while. =[

  • Sure I love "Hey Jude", "All You Need Is Love", "Help!", "Ticket To Ride", "Let It Be", "Day Tripper" and on and on like everybody else. But I'm going to pick another big favorite of mine here. The very last track on Revolver album is a song called "Tomorrow Never Knows." Oh. My. God! The first time I listened to it, I was BLOWN AWAY!! It's so different from all the other Beatles songs. I can't stop listening to it ever since. It's got layers of cool effects. Fantastic mixing job. (Cont'd)>>

  • >>>And I absolutely LOVE Ringo's syncopated (odd-time feeling) drumming! It sounds very experimental and definitely psychedelic. Listening to that reverse-guitar sound still gives me the goose bumps on my arms even today!!

  • 1. I Am The Walrus

    2. John, followed closely by George

    3. Seen it and own it along with all their other movies. Seen 50 times at least.

    4. CD's no as I prefer the wax versions.

Game? It's on my Christmas list for Santa.

  • 1. So hard to pick... Hey Jude, Eleanor Rigby, With a Little Help From My Friends....

    2. John

    3. Not yet. I really need to get around to it...

    4. Definitely buying The Beatles Rock Band. Not the set with all the instruments, just the game. I already have a guitar and mic, and I never really liked playing the drums on Rock Band. I'm not a big music purchaser (I don't even have an mp3 player), so I'll probably hold off on the remastered CDs.

  • *ps if the world had the same mentality as john the world would be a better place! give peace a chance! rip john and george (forgot to put as john)

  • 1. agree in my life as well as a day in the life

    2. richard starkey!

    3. yes i have and help both great movies my bro owns hard days night funniest movie ever

    4. my bros getting it and ill be playing it =]

i agree 100% usually as bands get older the quality of the music worsens but the beatles had the opposite affect ps if the world had the same mentality the world would be a better place! give peace a chance! rip john and george

  • You should also give The Clash a try if you haven't already ;-)

One of my favorites of all time!!

  • 1. Hey Jude

    2. John will always be the favorite

    3. I remember most of it from when I was young

    4. I don't play Rock Band, but I am very interested in picking up these remastered CDs.

  • oops! missed the questions -

    1. Hey, Jude or Yellow Submarine

    2. All of them

    3. No but I've seen Yellow Submarine and the Rutles

    4. Probably not but I do like their stuff - just not to the level of $180. There's a recession on for godsakes!

  • is this a e-begging vid to get some cash for the Beatles box-set? LoL! Let's get this fellow some cash!

I remember my uncle telling me when Hard Days Night came out that he couldn't hear the movie until the third time it played (guess they didn't kick them out between showings then) because only by that time the girls had lost their voices from screaming thru-out the movie.

  • haha - donations can be made to Allyouneediscash(dot)com :)

  • I'm totally psyched for this! I got into the Beatles when I was 13 back in 1999 (The One collection did it for me).

I loved the remixed/remastered soundtrack of The Yellow Submarine. It sounded beautiful, but I never understood why they didn't move on to the other albums sooner. The early album CDs were terrible, I gotta admit to that, but I'll be getting the new releases ASAP.

You gonna get the Rockband Beatles, Jason?

I'm gonna play till my eyes fry off!

  • My fav song: All Too Much. George rocked the hardest when he wanted to!

I've seen all the Beatles films 'cept for Let It Be.
