This game, and the Lawnmower Man game, are classics - i'd love to hear a reason why they ain't just that. I mean, if the technology of the day had allowed for it - just imagine how far these could have been take in terms of being ground-breaking, not to say they weren't ground-breakers in their own right. They did kinda push the limits of a lot of machines in the day just running either. These games were a bit like, relatively speaking, the 3DO console - underdogs of future gaming.
it's got a limited release so its hard to find, i cant believe i used to own this and its probably gone now. potentially ruined in storage, might be easier to just try to find a working torrent of it.
Love the atmosphere and the music, picked this up on eBay a year ago. Takes me right back to '94-95. Back then pc gaming was still relatively brand new... I think I rented this game from a video rental store actually!
I remember playing this game like 15 years ago. The gameplay was very simple and naive, but the game had excellent graphics for its time, and the soundtrack was great.
I picked up this game back in the year of it's original release (1995 i think). I beat this game only recently cause it was so damn hard. Same with the first game. Cool stuff though. I bought the game twice because i lost disk 1 of 3, so i picked up the whole game on eBay and then i ended up finding the first disk. Go figure. I have the soundtrack on my iPod too. It kicks ass!
i have it, got it off ebay for abt £10, only wanted the exclusive music CD LOL, still class though youll want VDMsound if your running xp or similar to play it, or an old pentium machine running dos!
also look for a torrent i know theres one for the musics and am sure i saw one somewhere that was abt a gig or more so that might be the full game.
A game that although the controls were a bit clumbsy at time still holds up today, had 3 game cds, 1 audio ran on a 486 and blew everything else out the water, a moving game in its time and a soundtrack that added to this awesome!
This blew the top of my head off, back in 1994. The visuals look... odd, and low-res now, but their unique, outlandish design coupled with THE BEST GAME SOUNDTRACK EVER MADE (Steve, if you're reading this, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE REISSUE IT!!), made for an experience bordering on revelation.
Cyberboogie is the best song Steve Hillage has produced. No question. A shame he's piling on the minimal prog nonsense with the "new" System 7.
those games had a SOUL......
