I will never forget the first time i heard "Shine on you crazy diamond". I was sitting in the train in the early hours of the day and the sun came out this morning at a clear sky. I was looking at the horizon and the sound from "shine on you crazy diamond" and this fantastic nature look was so brilliant - that from this moment I was a BIG BIG Pink Floyd fan. I will never forget this.

speed is just a technique, it isn't what the guitar really is though. The guitar is like your arm or leg, and you have to manipulate it just right to get you through life. Running around all the time gets people tired out eventually so you have to float and move with grace to get through to people. I cannot stand how hiped up speed and shredding is when 90% of the noobs that do it have zero emotion or creativity. Vai and Petrucci have emotion but not many shredders do at all....
