Thammarat is one of the most awesome players on the planet.

Can someone tell me and others how he is recording this without headphones? Do you think he is using a direct line-in and just hears the backing track? Or do you think he mics his amps?  If it is the latter, how does he prevent the backing track from bleeding through his mics on the amp? Any advice someone could offer would really help me.

@cwgrc21 He doesn't record with mics on the amp. He records through his audio card. His setup goes like this: Guitar->effects->amp->Palmer speaker simulator->very expensive audio card->recording program.

@cwgrc21 I think its something like this: Guitar into some sort of effects processor/pedalboard (i.e. Boss GT Pro or Me-70), then into Palmer PDI-05 speaker simulator, then into computer... I think using some monitoring speakers he can mix a blend of backing track and guitar sound... I guess XD

@cwgrc21 Hey there, I cant confirm this, but im almost certain (as its the case with most of Jacks Music and Videos) that he records using something called a Palmer PDI 09 speaker emulator. What it is, is a way of recording DI with your amp without using an Microphone. How it works is you plug your amplifiers speaker output into the Emulator, then simply you can take a lead from that emulator into your interface. The reason its such a good way of recording is because it means you dont need a mic
