  • do any of you know the tv series jonathan creek, the magician who solves murder mysteries? great stuff. but the arrangement of this tune that they use for the theme is terribly lame. why could they not stick to the original St Saens??

  • Humano, simplesmente humano.

  • It's brilliant!!!

  • au collège la prof de music

  • @ChoupaChoups15 Doit-on comprendre par là que tu trouve ça ringard ... ?

  • You have got to finish this. I AM IN LOVE!!

  • XD

  • Im on marihuana- X)

  • very nice...you got the spirit of the piece...one thing though, when the xylophone plays, did you think about making the skeleton use the bones of his rib as a xylophone? I like him knocking his head, but the rib/xylophone analogy I thought would be pretty cool too, although maybe that's too literal...

  • Very cool!

  • hehe, this song is also part of the ghost castle attraction in the efteling aswell, which is where I first heared it ^^

  • well done!!!

  • Lol, this is like the skeleton version of MMD.

  • I like some of the choreography is from prokofiev's romeo and juliet

  • Im ten and my violin teacher can play most of the song :P He;s pretty awesome :P

  • love

  • And then?

  • Interesting video.

Coming out of the soil and the Rise of the skeleton, dancing spree.

To get on fine music, or play a sound beating Toka my head, and I can play violin.

    And finally great.

The day comes dawn rises, go back one by one in the grave.

And the sun rises fully, until now a party of their skeleton, like nothing had happened, and peaceful cemetery.

    It really great movie! !

  • Love how they incorporated it last night on GRIMM

  • @ORYGUNLADY

that's why i came here - to find out what song it was, lol. i also just watched tombstone for the first time the day before and they actually had it in there as part of the traveling entertainment caravan's performance at the saloon. twice in two days - so random.

but glad i ran across it. i think it's also used on those Jameson commercials - yes i'm sure of it. it's definitely been on a number of them - like the one where he kills the hawk.

  • @ORYGUNLADY

Me too! I love hearing it so much, I downloaded the episode just to hear it over again!!

  • @ORYGUNLADY Indeed

  • @ORYGUNLADY The version of grimm of "danse macabre" was awesome, i wish i could find a version like the one at the end of the chapter (electro type version)

  • what's name of this song ?

  • Excellent

  • my marching band did this song when I was in 8th grade I wanted to be in this show sooo bad!!

  • ATTENTION HELPFUL TUNING EXPERTS!! someone able to find out at how much Hz this is tuned? If someone finds out, I'll be grateful to you for a lifetime!

  • @xLisLbee apparently the E string of the violin is tuned down to the Eflat, and the key signature is Gminor (2flats). Hope that's somewhat useful!! :)

  • Comment removed

  • @xLisLbee pitch standard, (A = 440hz)

  • @teizzz thank you soooo much!

  • haha its the johnathan creek theme tune this is lol the skeletons make me laff i find this amusing lol for some reason that i cant decide why lol

  • @1234ozric I was wondering for a while where do I know this music from - and it's so obvious now!! Johnathan Creek!!! Love the show by the way!

  • Doesn't look unfinished, it's fascinating !

  • thumbs up if you came hear because you heard this in music class in school.

  • @mav6771 omg i did!!!

  • @XxDurrHurrDurrxX knew it

  • @mav6771 Yay!!!! (puke) Me too!!!

    Music class !!! (more puke)

  • @mav6771 Not in school for me, I found it on the b side of an lp with the music from The Sorcerers Apprentice, I loved the music and the story behind it, which part represented them playing their bones to make the music for them to dance to and the cock sounding their time to go back to their graves. To see this put to animation has brought the images I had in my mind all those years ago to life, where's the finshed product?

  • @mav6771 I first heard it watching "Jonathan Creek."

  • @mav6771

dj max technica, although i've never played it...

  • @mav6771 lmao i did.

  • @mav6771 I came here because of 'De Efteling' !!

  • @gyqz ? umm english please

  • @mav6771 LOL.....De Efteling is a themepark in The Netherlands and they have a walkthrough ghostcastle, where they play this music.....

A bon entendeur.

  • @TheRiderZ666 j avou c trop naze!!!

  • We saw this in music class once. BEST DAY IN MUSIC EVER!!! Love this video.

    ~Anna

  • I kinda wish you would have finished.....this is amazing like this, imagine how awesome would it be if you continued!

  • Do the whole thing and finish it, it's awesome! I love how the animations are so well synced up with the music.

  • excellent!

  • Here are the mistakes: 1: Disappearing and reappearing graves 2: Blue shoulders on one skeleton 3: Cut off.... :P

  • @mugjug13 i know where I'm going this halloween then...

  • I love this! I find skeletons to be rather jolly and happy, and this really captured that.

  • beautiful video! camille st-saens, la danse macabre

  • this is great!

  • cool animation i like this and the song.

  • That's beautiful. loved it.

  • i gave it in music

  • I wish you would have done the entire song! I'm a music teacher and I want to show this to my class, but I'm disappointed that you didn't animate the entire thing. This is great!!

  • Very clever. What a tremendous amount of work. 10/10.

  • 1:44 Ahahahahahaha

  • i saw this song in school and we all started to lol !!

  • i saw this song in school and we all started to lol!!

  • @MegaJenna2000 lol me to her name is mrs francis xD

  • Fantastic!

  • Beautiful work. I hope you expand on it. This is one of my favorite pieces by the composer, and just in time for Halloween!

  • in school i am doing this peice of music to a dance

  • At school, i do it the start (sorry i'm french) and the end like in your composition that's too good

  • At school, i do it the start (sorry i'm french) and the end like in your composition that's too good

  • did you ever finish this? I think it's a great interpretation!

  • if i were there and a skeleten poped out of the ground i would freak out but after it starts danceing i would be like "wow can i dance with you along with you"

  • Comment removed

  • Whoohaha :P

  • after the dance I wonder if its hard for them to find there graves.....

  • Hihi super. Funny, but beautiful.

  • Best video I've seen utilizing the great work, Danse Macabre, Op. 40. No need to worry about render errors and flickers...now, at least. This is astounding! Do you know how good it is? I can understand why you cut it short to cut the work, as it must have been overwhelming. But if you get a legitimate offer, do the whole thing and make sure you get a good share! Good luck!

  • GREAT!! i thuink just that you must put the death playing violin, because that is the story of the piece, the death plays violin at 12 o'clock at halloween and the death people dance all the nigh

but good work, i'm impressed and excuse me for my bad english, im from spain... :S

  • That was great! I love it! It's goo animation too. So many of them are kinda cheap. Long, but cheap. I like this one best! Great job! You should do more if you have time. And have you ever read The Graveyard Book? It's good, you'd like it! Excelent!

  • Creepy, but very graceful ^_^

  • Hi. I really liked your Danse macabre verssion. We would like to use it, as an introduction for a show we are creating. It would be a cultural presentation in which the entrance will be free for all the people. Do you think it possible?- We will give you the credits for the animation. I hope you can give us a soon answer. And send me the information you want me to add.

Thank you very much. Greetings from Mexico.

    Ricardo Glez.

  • me gusta esto!

  • Wow for a Dummy pilot animation this is a pretty awesome animation to fit an awesome tune :)

  • griezelig maar wel geweldig

  • Aah, nice!! :D

  • although the video was retarded, this is one of the most beautiful pieces ever, bravo Saint Saens.

  • that would suck if you're a skeleton and still haven't found a partner to dance with. It's like you're doomed forever because it's not like you have hope or anything.

  • The theme of this song really matches withe the actual story of the song. The gradual increase o the tension in the song gives a nice effect to the overall theme of the song. The timing f the song matches 3/4 timing which is the same as the timing of a waltz; the composer may have taken that to account.

and yes, i am a music student

  • amazing are teacher at school showed us it

  • I bet the Harry Potter fans won't complain if this song will substitute Hedwig's Theme.

  • i want to learn their dance steps :D

  • This is so beautiful and proves that true love is eternal... :D

  • I love it!

  • This is the best animation to go along with this I've seen . However, a request: Include the whole song please. I know it's a lot of work, but I would greatly appreciate it if you'd finish this. :)

  • awesome, there's only one problem: because you can't really see the difference between male and female skeletons, their dance looks kinda gay xP

  • @kilbill2009 is there something wrong with gay?

besides, you can't tell the difference between male and female skeletons unless you are doctor or forensic scientist or something.

....but that's beside the point. you just proved your ignorance there buddy with that homophobic comment. congratulations.

  • Amazing.

  • omfg. that was amazing. being a cellist and a tech nerd, i know the skill it takes not only to play this piece, but also the skill and patience to make something like this. it's amazing!

  • I agree, great video, please finish it! If you can, look at a violin performance though to move your skeletal soloist's bow and fingers more realistically though. Let us know when you've completed it!
