I noticed the comments on the video, and I was curious if you ever tried any other foods that were more solid. My wife and I are interested in BLW. Do you have any tips or advice for us?
Here in the UK the ethos of BLW is that the baby leads with what solids they eat. As long as they are in control of what they are eating, then it's baby led. It might seem like cheating to offer them spoonfuls of yoghurt/cereal/soup but as long as the baby is happy to pick them up and eat them, then it's BLW as far as we are all concerned. There is a book by a health visitor called Gill Rapley that you might be interested in reading. Not sure if it's available worldwide.
FYI not sure if youve done research on baby led weaning but the whole point is the baby feeds itself solid foods. ie chunks of veg...etc. they dont learn how to use a spoon for a couple of months. If you want to give them purees or liquidy food (yogurt) you can put it in a tray in front of them and let them have a go with their own fingers. Its all about feeling the textures with their hands and experimenting with food.
This video you posted is NOT baby led weaning for those who are interested!
