They fiddled with playing this in its entirety in 2007 (not just the instrumental section at the end, which was still awesome!). Unfortunately Phil couldn't hit the high notes anymore so they had to drop it. Bummer!
Finally they're inducted into the Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame. FUSE Channel on March 15th 2010 LIVE from the Waldorf Astoria in NYC- DON'T MISS IT -- GENESIS LIVES FOREVER !!
@PeterMayer if I may inquire, what is the big distinction between the two - the legacy boards originate the sound, tone, etc, while the digital ones are only replicating, mimicking?
@Bearses Not necessarily, but the mellotron had such an airy sound compared to him using the Korg Vocoder chorus in 1980, 1982. And the ARPs just had a warmer sound then the harder, metallic sound of an Emulator. To me anyway...
Yeah, Tony was one of the few people who not only use the synth capabilities of the Synclavier, but also one of the few who got good sounds from a digital synth.
Never been a big fan of Darryl, but he's done some very good work live with Genesis.

They were a great rock band, but I fail to understand why people upload videos that have lousy, amateurish video and equally bad sound.

@PeterMayer muy interesante, thank you...

@PeterMayer The Emulator II is only 8 bits of resolution, but it's probably much more reliable on the road than a Mellotron. :)

@mfnickster yeah, but I don't know. I just thought Tony was more inventive in the 70s.

@PeterMayer The Synclavier sounded fantastic IMHO.

p.s. after the click in the sound about midway the audio and video arnt in sync anymore, most likely a reel problem when transfered!
