I am afraid my admiration for Oh Eun Sun will forever be suspended .. have you not read that at least 5 or 6 other summits of Oh are also called into question due to her poor photographic record of those ascent ?

Add to that her integrity is called into doubts by one of her sherpas who straight up refuse to admit that she succeeded and also her flag was found stacked under some rocks when she claimed it flew away from her ..

Too many inconsistencies with her stories I am afraid.

We should encourage whistle-blowers to stand up and speak up regardless of who they are. I am disappointed with Elizabeth Hawley's reliance on intuitive trust to acknowledge Oh's disputed feat too easily without further inquiries. She is not exactly fit to be an "authority" on the climbing records, who knows how many fraudulent claims are admitted into her record books ?

(2) Her flag was found stacked under some stones 50m ( 50m ! ) below the summit, she said she dropped it. Yeah right, if the wind is strong enough to move stones upon the flag, it wld surely have blown the flag way off the mountain. The only possibility is that Oh "thought" she reached summit so she planted the flag there BUT carry on thinking this way due to ego even tho all evidence suggests she only reached 50m below summit.

(1) How many Sherpas did she hired just to carry her staffs ? From descriptions its at least 3 or more. Its almost like asking pple to carry her up a flight of stairs to her front door..

The latest twist in this continuing saga is that Jon Gangdal has come forward with a photo of Kangchenjunga showing a rock dome near the summit, approximately 7-8 meters below the summit. //kr.news.yahoo.com/sports/gol­f/view?aid=2010090214381117315­. This is consistent with Oh's claim that she had to descend 5-10 meters below the summit to take a pic, and inconsistent with Pasaban's claim that there are no rocks near the summit. Did Pasaban really climb Kanchenjunga?

Oh stopped her descent after her summit to see what her team could do for Tolo. After waiting some sixteen hours at base camp 4, her decision was that her team would be useless in terms of rescuing Tolo. At that point, Oh's team was running out of their own resources and energy. Even Tolo's own team couldn't save him; it would have been unreasonable to expect Oh, who was descending from Annapurna, to do so.

@brinco30, I am very disappointed with Spaniards such as yourself. From what I heard, Oh spent 13 straight hours to climb up Annpurna, and was on her way down. Ms. Oh had absolutely nothing left in her tank, let alone to climb back up 6 more hours and save this Spanish climber. Have in mind she is merely 5'2" woman. You Spanish people need to have some reasonable and fair minds before yacking your mouth away. Thank you.

@brinco30 Hello spanish douchebag. If u knew anything about climbing, this is a risk ALL climbers know about and accept. Oh is not any less of a human being when should could not help the stranded climber. When you climb a mountain you go there with limited resources (air, energy, water etc). It would have been suicide to ask her or her sherpas to carry that man down.

It should not be confused with climbers complimenting each other, pls be objective. Not just Pasaban doubts Oh, now even the Korean climbing body has denounced her. Oh might be thinking wrongly that she reached summit due to low visibility (as the flag as shown), whatever the case the flag shld be the final proof she did not summit.

I think it is ridiculous to accept that a person has climbed 14 peaks based on blind faith that the person is honest. How to tell if a person is speaking the truth ? By whether she has a kind-looking face ? Umm,.. looks can be deceiving the old saying goes..

Ther should be a proper verification system and a panel of experts (obviously Hawley is not a good judge), Miss Oh did not provide proper evidence for half her climbs, how does she expect pple to accept her claims ?
