Been listening to this guy since I was 10 years old. 20+ years later, his voice still takes me back. Wish he could do the TV games, too, because Robb Kerr is awful, and Peter Lobaurdias was "SOME KIND OF" awful.

its funny i think the 3 yeah baby`s is the most amazing call ever in sports announcing. yet he didn`t get it till hearing that`s how all us fans felt to.

Not to mention, he has earned his place in the Hall of Fame and just his calls on Gelinas' OT goals in '04 and Crosby's GWG for Canada in the Olympics still sends shivers up and down my spine.

I had the distinct pleasure of meeting Mr. Maher during one of the intermissions last season during the Flames/Sharks game on my birthday. I was just when I came out of the mens' room in the third level of the Saddledome that I ran into Peter. An all around, classy, down to earth individual, and it's no wonder that the The Fan 960, the Flames organization and hockey in general is blessed to have Peter Maher as one of the most captivating, colorful and intriguing play by play announcers ever.

2010 Olympics radio coverage - John Garrett of all guys, did color for Peter on the radio, which didn't do him any favors. The guy sucks bad! Go Canada!

Pete rules. Only a few broadcasters can really paint a picture with their words. Hearing that Game 6 win call with the 3 yeah baby's puts a smile on my face.
