There was a great show at Max's in 1976 (77?) with Wayne, Cherry Vanilla, and the Fast. Still have my slides of that night, and the flyer was on my wall for years.

wow, this is absoultely gold. Wayne County, or Jayne County as "she" is called now, is just such an amazing character. I wish I could've been a regular at Max's. I dream about that red room with Bowie, and Warhol... Cyrinda Foxe, The Ramones, Cand Darling. All that good stuff

@Skene63 Here's some news, Skene: Jayne does perform to this day. County now lives back here in Georgia and for two straight years she's played a special Halloween show in Little 5 Points in the lot behind the Star Bar. He/she still puts on a rockin' and campy show. Some local musicians back her and they're known as the Electric Queers! My wife and I especially like County's song, If You Don't Wanna Fuck Me, Baby, Then Baby, FUCK OFF!!!
