  • surprisingly good

  • Lydon himself will be sitting, content and farting, as he knocks back another chilled beer as he watches this in his luxury American gaffe. His fat beer belly will be wobbling with joy and mirth.

  • @rabsmiff i somehow doubt that with whats going on now...

  • @SPExJR what happened to the God Save the Sex Pistols forum, then? It just got the plug pulled on it abruptly last week----I was on there occassionally. The loss of the massive SPEx thread must be a bit of a blow--it was a good archive in it's own right.

  • @rabsmiff something political has made it get scrapped and he wont elaborate

  • would have love to have been at this. My favourite PIL song and a vocalist doing it justice, lydon is just too high pitched and histrionic now (yeah yeah, I know, surely an oxymoron!)

  • @Durriti66 they are doing some uk dates this year. going under the name 'Metal Box In Dub'

  • Glad these fellas finally arrived........In the 60's this stuff was coming out of closed garages all over the country to the chagrin of all of the neighbors. A precise compilation of 4 dudes, first day in the garage, new instruments and some of big brothers smoke.

  • This is really uncanny, I normally hate this sort of shit but this is brilliant.

  • tried my best to cover it but thought its fine as it is.

the singer is nathan, he does the sex pistols experience, maybe we'll see some more of this!?

  • Low pixel is deliberate my friend...don't you love the date appearing all the time? It looked to me like an old video of the original PiL in '78, but Wobble has the wrong amp head..then I noticed the grey hair and Keith's glasses. So who the hell is the singer? The guy doesn't even need to act.. he just Is Lydon. Brilliant!

    The Long Haired Hippy Roadie

  • @networknineteen theres some UK dates coming along now for this now mate

  • WTF he sounds just like Lydon?

  • ah... i can guess who ?

  • This is fucking genius. Thanks so much for the upload.

  • @Tralfaz666 what about martin atkins like?

  • @SPExJR sure... Martin was the best drummer they had...

  • After all these years Wobble and Levene finally share a stage and it's in 240p? Weren't there any HD cameras there? Did anyone plug in to the sound board for good audio? This is too important... Hi-Res, please!

  • @DetroitDiesel671 as far as i know there wasnt anyone else filming, i seen a few flashes but nobody filming. thing is, nobody knew that was gonna happen as it was all a big secret until it started. so the only footage i know of is this. your more than welcome to download it from youtube downloader though. i still have the original film but not everyone has a 'drop box' account

  • @SPExJR Jeez, well I guess thanks are in order then.... If it weren't for you this archive would not even exist! What was the set list? Did you record the entire show? What were they billed as at the festival?

  • @DetroitDiesel671 it was at the bridlington spa last october, there was an international music festival going on and Jah Wobble was billed with his japanese dub band, towards the end the planned to do a selection of numbers but as time was running out only 3 songs could be done - Public Image - Careering - PopTones. i believe a temporary name was ' Purpous In Life '

  • @DetroitDiesel671 got some tour dates for you on this band if your interested?

  • is this ever gonna be toured it should be .

  • @markusa nah it wont be , a certain person is a stubborn old prick

  • This is just brilliant! I never heard about Public Imitation Ltd before. This recording is in many ways more authentic than the real John Lydon. Do you have more from the same concert?

  • @clembourn1 yes, i uploaded 2 more - public image & careering

  • @SPExJR Any more than those three? The sound quality is surprising good.

  • @clembourn1 no, they only did 3 songs as there wasnt enough time to do more

  • @clembourn1 the night was jah wobble and hid japanese dub, towards the end wobble decided it would be cool to throw in a few PiL songs

  • @clembourn1 I'm inclined to agree with you. Although I find it somewhat sad that someone would imitate John Lydon to this extent I can't help but feel that John Lydon was playing at being John Lydon for the recent "PiL" gigs.

  • WOBBLE TURNED IT DOWN COS THE MONEY LYDON OFFERED WAS A PITTANCE

  • @markusa correctamundo.!

  • @markusa Lydon claimed there is no money in PiL but if PiL means as much to him as he's always said then surely he should be prepared to subsidize a tour & pay Wobble & Levene what they're worth, especially as both claim he owes them for unpaid royalties anyway. I mean, it's not as if he can't afford it now that he's a property developing multi millionaire. The recent gigs he did as PiL are fraudulent. It's no different to if he was to tour as The Sex Pistols without Jones. Matlock & Cook.

  • Let's get this straight. P.I.L existed from 1978-1983. After that all other pil records should have been called John Lydon. Fantastic to see Wobble and Levene together, if that's what it is. I still can't quite believe it..............................

  • Jah and Keith would do this but not a real Reunion?

  • @8i11 yeah cause they dont want to work with Lydon.

  • @SPExJR And also Rotten didn't want to work with them, especially Levene. I can't say I'd be thrilled to show up for work tomorrow with the same blokes I worked with thirty years ago, but listen to these clips and Levene and Wobble demonstrate what their contribution to PiL was worth from day 1 and it's somewhat remarkable that it still holds true to this day -- the best music they ever made, and they can still pull it off!! I don't think any of Lydon's PiLs since 1984 come close.

  • @BLIDKIN wobble was offered to play bass in the current PiL before the re-union happened but wobble turned it down.

Lydon likes his control. levene was/is still the best guitarist PiL have ever had and probably will have, though next in line to him i think 'Mark Schulz' was second best, listen to him play live in tokyo.

  • agree with lazaru. keith and wobble were in at the start of pil so why not do this ? at least they havent dissapeared up their own arsehole like lydon has.

  • Outstanding. This has as much right to the name PiL as anything Lydon cobbles together.

  • Comment removed

  • tour this !!!! well woth the wait spex jr thank you.

    and the flute works.

  • Wobble and Levene, on the same stage AGAIN!

  • That Johnny Rotter is great - this is brilliant. Could easily be fooled into thinking that this was classic PIL in its entirity. Impressive..... Mind you, he does have Jah and Keith playing with him, lucky bastard!

  • took some doing

  • finally without the half green screen

    thanks.

  • yehaaaaa....... only pil id go and see.

  • Nice one Nath, loved it & you! ;0)

  • Wow! What a great performance! Congratulations and keep it up.
