thanks for the comment on my reconstruction, i am still awaiting my nipple of course, but atleast I have two again. long journey, :) but one to make you really stop and smell the flowers

@tommicats I am awaiting the nipple as well. It's such a bizarre process. Everyday I watch my hair get just a wee bit longer. Things are changing so much moment by moment. It's interesting & I'm trying to make the most of it. But it is scary too!

i love you for doing it! my mom had breast cancer and survived thankfully. when she started losing hers she let me shave it and i let her shave mine. hope you kicked that cancers ass!

I went through this procedure two years ago. My husband shaved my head. I really have to hand it to you, you did this with grace, dignity and defiance. obviously, judging by your attitude, you are triumphant. May God bless you and keep you.

My mom just called me today and let me that she has cancer. She wants to shave her head before the chemo makes her hair fall out. She does not know how to do it, if she should go to the barber shop or not she thinks she would like it done privately. Any advice?

@BALDCHIXLOVER12901 - I did the barber shop cuz I was 2 busy 2 organize a big head shaving party. I'd say wait until she starts chemo/radiation & then have her do what she feels most comfortable with. If she wants a big party w/her family & friends that's fun! Or, if she just wants something private. It can be really emotional to lose your hair; changes how u look so much. It seems harder on older women. Get her scarves, hats & maybe crazy wigs! I wish her all the best & a speedy recovery! xxo

@jaclco Thank you so much. I am so sorry for all your loss. Sadly cancer took my mom as well. But it's not taking me! What doesn't kill us makes us stronger & I'm sure you are very strong as well after losing so much. Take care!

I am doing OK. On chemo and halfway done. Trying to stay happy & positive & get loads of rest! Thanks for all the kind words to everyone. It's such a blessing to know that people I've never met are so supportive! I can't wait to be done with chemo & get my regular life back, but I feel lucky to be alive & I'm learning to live each moment to the fullest! xxo Marie
