ur justification for the existence of a government is lesser and more flawed than an anarchist's justification of wanting no government.u have the wrong perception of what anarchy is,having no rulers does not mean that there will not be rules government is flawed because it puts an elite group of people and their interests above the people in general when it could be better for people to make their own rules and decisions by means of direct democracy instead of this fake representative democracy
Dude this isent the 60s anymore! The government has twisted and chopped our rights so much that we have no life! Everyone who belives the "government" your nothign but a sheep BAH bitchs BAH your all following a leader! STAND UP be yourself fight for YOUR rights YOUR life! No one has the right to control anyone! so FUCK EM! Fuck teh Government and fuck this fucking politics! Piss on em and stand up for your right!
Anarchism comes more from a "revenge of the little people" outlook than a "those with power stomp on individual rights". At least that's how the anarchists see it. In contrast to the individualism you are talking about most anarchists think that the absence of a central power would make it more difficult for people to control each other and that people would have to live in tight-knit groups or communes for survival. Not saying it's right, but you definitely misrepresent it.
I had to stop at "anarchy causes people to starve" and "we don't deserve to live if we're not violently forced to generously give to the poor". I'm sorry but why do we need a monopoly of violence to tell us where to allocate our resources? I give to charity because it makes me feel good, not because the government cronies pull out their guns to make me. How can you say that nobody has the right to keep their own hard-earnt resources? Of course they have the fucking right. And regarding...
...living in a system which causes people to die: how many people have been murdered by the government? What percentage of wars are caused by states? (one hundred).
Another good question is: how many men does it take to make taxes legitimate? If 100 men came round to your house violently demanding taxes, would you see that as necessary? Especially if they said it was for charity. What about 1000 men? What if you could vote to choose the leader of the gang?
Born-again Christians are the unwitting puppets of the Republican elite. Using the name of Jesus Christ to amass wealth, and political power is the agenda. Hitler used the German people's cultural insecurities to control them. This is also what the Republican party is doing with uneducated, and shallow-minded Americans.
I support anarcho-capitalism. The government is taking away our freedoms. Ever heard of the patriot act? Over a million people have died in this latest Iraq war. Voting won't change anything and you know that. The politicians are bought and sold. The military industrial complex continues. Vice president Dick Cheney made 70 million dollars profit from the war. The federal reserve (private bank owners) profit from wars. We need more anarchists to fight for our freedoms.
as an anarchist, i do not fight for anarchy as a whole at this stage. i don't jump that far ahead. it wouldn't make sense and it would be a wasted life. i stand up against the systems of control that are made to keep us in line and ready to obey the institutions that opress and dehumanize the people in this world and turn us away from all the things we truly live for.
in a society where people have learned to protect our own at all cost, with no room for hate or competition, there will be no need for government. love would be apparent to all of us as the soul behind our existance, not something we must struggle to find. anarchy as a whole would be near impossible because it is not within our nature, but there is no other phylosophy that is more true to the human spirit.
anarchists these days have somewhat violent tendancies at times toward things like capitalism and corporate control, but these are not tendancies used as a mindset for created chaos and hatred, but rather the mindset of people refusing a system as manipulative and controling as this one. the end goal is peace in the hope that people will defend our own.
for most anarchists, anarachy is not so much a struggle for total national anarchy where people are not protected and whoever is the strongest wins. it is not about chaos, though that is what comes first most of the time. anarchy is about the nurturing nature of people. it is about people living in small communities where if someone is worse off or has something happen to them, the rest of the community comes together for them.
And also, I would argue of course that government IMPEDES people to take care of themselves. There are always new laws popping up taking any little bit of power away from people. And if you are under the illusion that government is really there to protect the majority of people, then maybe discussion between us is useless at the moment.
Have you actually read anything written by anarchists? Or have you just gone by the media's (and history books) stereotypes of us?
Why the hell would we want to take people out of power and then stomp on other people? What the point would be of that? The point is to abolish POWER so that no one would EVER have control over another again.
He said it: "The ideals" not those who are in power. Anarchism exists because politicians always abuse their power. I dunno where this guy gets his notion of "anarchy" from. Anarchism is not about stopping people from doing what they want. Anarchism is direct democracy, federalism, de-centralization of power, communal spirit, peace. To compare it to Neo-cons is wack. Go read Godwin, Kropotkin & Malatesta & think again.
property. Anarchy and Neo-Con Republicans are not feasable forms of government, but rather merely an identity, or far too often an excuse (numerous people believe that supporting Hitler is in itself logic enough to justify hatred and persecuton). We must persevere with a flawed democracy and attempt to pursue perfect justice and society.
"freedom from higher powers"... impractical and immature... this guy understands the numerous flaws that exist within any and all form of government but that such is a necessary evil, and that without any inhibitions society would quickly disintegrate into the individual claims of
When anarchist's have thrived for a short time before being stomped on they've shared the wealth, shared the food, shared the houses and kept things simple. I do believe in ethical capitalism, money and fair trade, courts and crime-fighting but more importantly, ppl power!!
GIVE US PPL THE RIGHTS OF POLITICIANS TO VOTE ON LAWS, ISSUES & THE BUDGET
This guy has clearly read nothing about REAL anarchism! It's about freedom from higher powers, a flat society if you like, not CHAOS as propagated by the powers that be. Anarchists are still moral (ethical) ppl. I'm not an anarchist but prefer freedom to neo-con sponsored, top-dwon, totalitarian fascism!
"Stealing" is when CEO's profit off of the labor of people at the bottom. (And that's in America and corporate globalization where kids are picking coffee beans for Starbucks.) Stealing is the privitization of land, water and food. Stealing is when people need to look for corporate jobs and they're not allowed to build their own homes.
And Kevin, you can't tell me you feel good knowing that there are people out there who get paid more for doing less work by the hour than you. Capitalism, communism, representative democracy, fascism, corporatocracy, socialism... none of them work. Next step for the human race is ending all governments and creating communities of farming and building.
Solidarity, or mutual aid, is a key idea of anarchism. It is the link between the individual and society, the means by which individuals can work together to meet their common interests in an environment that supports and nurtures both liberty and equality. For anarchists, mutual aid is a fundamental feature of human life, a source of both strength and happiness and a fundamental requirement for a fully human existence.
and how is this solidarity and mutual aid effected? What mechanism is used? With millions of people it certainly can't be on a one to one individual basis. Hell, even in a family of four it is almost impossible to have solidarity and work towards each other's benefit.
The social and political structure of anarchy is similar to that of the economic structure, i.e., it is based on a voluntary federation of decentralised, directly democratic policy-making bodies.
These are the neighbourhood and community assemblies and their confederations. In these grassroots political units, the concept of "self-management" becomes that of "self-government" , a form of municipal organisation in which people take back control of their living places from the bureaucratic state and the capitalist class whose interests it serves.
The government has been co-opted by the corporations. Someday people will understand that and will revolt against the corporations just as we did against England. Individuals should have freedom and liberty. Corporations should be controlled by those whose lives they affect; not the other way around. Corporations are NOT human beings. They are human constructs for gaining privilege, power and control.
Whenever you have institutions of power with hierarchy then people who think they have a better way to run the country will try to obtain the position of power at the top of this hierarchy.
How can people revolt when they don't truly realise they are being oppressed?
Thanks very much for your responses tonight. You have given me much to think about for my next video. And that afterall is the purpose, to think and learn.
You talk about how the lack of state would lead to stealing, and then you list state-backed examples of stealing.

Anarchists are anti-authoritarians because they believe that no human being should dominate
another. Anarchists, in L. Susan Brown's words, "believe in the inherent dignity and worth of the
human individual."
Anarchists do not believe that everyone should be able to "do whatever they like," because
some actions invariably involve the denial of the liberty of others.
Mjhavok 4 years ago
And yet if there is no government then the powerful will dominate over the less-powerful. We need a collective compact that insures no one dominates.
If we do not self-govern then how do we avoid the denial of liberty?
