The placement of the camera is quite possibly the worst angle in the arena to determine whether or not this shot hit the rim. The official looked pretty convinced that it indeed did. After watching the replay it looks like the ball might have changed flight by just a hair. My guess is that if the official wasn't almost positive that the ball hit the rim he's not going to stop play. I'm guessing it did hit the rim. If you think this is the "worst call ever" you don't watch much basketball.
