  • lol fail

  • how weird.... My bolt also broke off in the same exact Location..

could this one possibly be faulty> LOL i duno

any suggestions.. i need to remove it while the head is on the Block.. =(

  • i have to replace my head gasket too and now that im gonna take off the top im gonna get the bolt out its funny cuz its the same bolt he was tying to get out

  • I've had to do this before on my 240. I didn't remove the head when I did it, I was able to find an air drill small enough to fit in the engine bay. I used a regular bolt extractor kit from home depot.

After an hour of painstakingly drilling, trying to fit the extractor properly, and lots of WD-40, I was able to get it out successfully . I had such a sigh of relief that it felt like I just performed brain surgery...haha

  • @asbestocide yes I have done the same as you - luckly this motor is getting rebuild so we were able to do it out of the car.

  • @asbestocide I'm in the same boat. I replaced the head gasket, and forgot that I had a broken stud when I put the head back in the car. Now I have to extract it while the head is in the bay as you did. It sucks, and I'm not looking forward to it
