  • is it just me or is the "when i come around i get down to the hit bounce" part in the beginning and end from the song by club pimps, when we come around?

    zion i is sick

  • pro

  • haha amplive shows up w a cigar in his mouf the whole time

  • gotta love the video =D gotta love their tracks even more ofcourse ;]

  • Just because the beat/flow isn't like most underground joints doesn't mean its mainstream, sellouts, weak... you fucks

  • can someone please tell me how to get that big voice effect at the beginning?

  • It could be from any number of modules made for audio manipulation. I used to use something called a Kaoss Pad to change vocals.

  • times they are a changing. can't stay in the past forever homie.

  • Man, Amplive so underrated with the beats.

  • nope

  • LOL.

  • Zion I are the kings of reinventing themselves all their albums are fresh, but Mind Over Matter is by far my fav.

  • Its sad that certain people want to give up on Zion I after one album that doesnt suit them.. Grow up. Zion I is better then 80 percent of the music out there and youre complaining about one freakin song.. The bay has done so much for music but how many really know that?...

  • 100% Agree!.. Zion I is much better than these crapers out there..

  • zion i...you can do much better than this. you know your fresh. stay true please?

  • whats wrong ? i like dat song

  • this is still better than all the other crap you hear on the radio.

have you even listened to the rest of the album? it's great.

  • Zumbi + Apmlive = Zion I ....so it is THEY not HE

  • Anyone Who Hate This Video Is Fucking Crazy

Be Happy Its not more Of that Throwing Money In The Air Showing Blurred Out Guns And Giving the Finger 50000 Times And Driving off in A Car That we All know Is Not theres With Fake Money Flying Out The Back

This Video is Made To Be Funny Stupid Whatever I call it (Nerd Eye Way)

Just Enjoy Its Not The Same

  • Hella cool song no lie

  • HE can spit, if he didn't make his videos so stupid, they'd take him more serious. But that's just him.

  • everyone needs to stop hating dude. just take it for what it is, if you dont like it, so what? its underground, the artists are not trying to make something that everyone approves of, they make the music they want to make without your lame ass opinion. who cares if its their best best or worst album, its all good music, its all a part of their development as artist. if they tried to stick to the same shit all the time, they would never grow.

  • all of you must understand a video costs money. and the commercial songs, are the ones that generate money not the deeper ones. thus they go for the best suitable investment... how much i bet if they had there own choice it would not be so. still dope love the shit thats comin from deuce zion and my Cuz. D.U.S.T.

  • no one does it cooler, winnin like shula, im deeper then a scuba google me on your computer

  • :38 is that place right across the streeet from alemeda skatepark

  • Funny thing that the 2 songs they did vids for are the ones that I didnt like that much from the album. Great group, mad props for keeping their style fresh and different. Great album. Caged Bird with Brother Ali is crazy.

  • Yeah, they did vids for the more catchy type songs, but not the deeper ones. Its kinda understandable. they did the same thing on stage when i saw them live. From the new album they played like DJ DJ, Juicy Juice, Geek to the Beat, etc. Bt it was still the best concert ive ever gone to lol.

  • true caged bird part 1 was off the chain, antenna & takeover was a beast track too

  • The song is way better than the vid.

  • YUP

  • bebe's kids!

  • love this song...but the video is not there....i suggest listening to this song without checkin the video...it's tight!!!

  • Hateration!

  • how am i hating?! let's be honest with each other because i appreciate different videos rather than booty bouncin and gold chains. the beginning is funny too when he is working out. but in the gym? i could have done without that. zion i is one of my favorite groups...and I bought the album...you might have downloaded it. but the video as a whole is not good...

  • don't trip. let's be honest... underground stuff sounds better through some headphones.. not heard while watching low-budget videos. the new zion-i album is DOPE music. mtv stars they are not.

  • Coming from the bay-and seeing Zion-I's evolution since the early days Im proud to see all that they have done. The many branches and the growth were seeing is natural but not permanent.Life changes and they are inspiring a whole generation of creative musicians in the bay and every where they tour. Side note-peep "Deuce Eclipse" and "DUST" , they are dancing on the court w/ them in the video-they have some slappers as well. Keep it up Zion-I. We wit chu!

    -Rob/Tres

  • CRUNk!

  • u mean SLAPP

  • what happened to zion?

nothing. they're perfectly fine and still going strong.

get used to it. their music may sound different, but they're still putting out the quality music like they always have been. definitely moreso than that garbage you hear on the radio.

as time changes, so do styles and people. get with it and accept it.

ps: jazz is the leading influence in ALL of hiphop. what's wrong with paying a little homeage to your roots? funky-jazz, regular jazz. it's STILL jazz!

  • They played at BFD at shoreline last saturday, sick as fuck. They are still around even 3 months after that comment.

  • i think the take over was their best album. this isnt one of my favorite songs of theirs..

  • HAHAHAHA The part in the ball game where the dude sets a screen on the little kid is hilarious.

  • I own the album, i never judge any kind of artist/band on one song especially a single. Yes there is some good songs on the album but its their worst album to me.

  • maybe it is the worst....if you're comparing it to their other four efforts.

if you review the take over as it's own, it's actually a pretty good album.

i thought heroes in the city of dope was their worst album, but again when not comparing it to their older albums, it's still a good album.

  • So because I dont like the new album im spreading negativity? I have a different opinion then you, so im a hater? your argument is a joke, ZIon I is one of the best to make music, and I'll say it again because you cant seem to grasp the idea of difference in opinion, This album to me, is their worst album, they had 3 great albums before this, not to mention their eps.

  • You'r enot spreading negativity for not liking the album. You're being a HATER and spreading NEGATIVITY when you take the negative ego in your head that feels it needs to share it's feelings of disapproval with the world and make it visible for everyone to see and read over the internet. i'm just saying don't ruin it for everybody that's only your perception.

  • "the 808 shake the rims on ya chevy"

"im gettin hyped up but still rock steady"

thats pretty weak. even the hook is weak

"we dont die, we multiple. put ya hands in the air if ya feelin fly"

tracks like fingerpaint, bad lands an trippin are timeless joints. this is garbage compared to them. the beats hyphy an triggered towards the bump in the trunk compared to the soul. you can ride this new zion dick all you want. but it aint them.

    peace

  • okay so they obviously like 808s and bump in the trunk. Do you think they sit in a room and meditate all day in order to get "spiritual" lyrics, obviously NOT. So they want to share another side of their artististry which is dancing and having fun. You probably wouldn't know anything about that though, because you probably have no rythm or you'd appreciate a SLAP when you heard it.

  • What happened to ZIon I? They went from an innovative hip hop group to watered down hyphy music in a metter of months.

  • wordup, this shit is garbage. RIP zion I

  • you don't have to listen... but I'll bet you'll still be at the shows with your hands in the air mouthing every rhyme... cuz you still bought it on itunes

  • Stops preading negativity, there's still plenty of Zion I fans that love this music and it's feel good vibe. They don't need haters like you destroying it for everybody. They're obviously spreading the love and building on their current "underground" fan base, if you don't like it don't listen, but they don't need your negative attitude.

  • learn to spell before you diss dope music... this isn't hyphy FYI

  • compared to what they put out prior to this, yes it is hyphy, And im not dissing them, I love Zion I but i dont like this album, i gave it a few listens and to me its not up there with their best. it is watered down.

  • I hate how people associate any Hip hop from the Bay area as "hyphy" ever since the "hyphy movement." It's a shame people can't think independently and create their own classes of good music.

  • Have you heard their album? Yea this kind of music is different from what they usually do, but theres plenty of songs like antenna and radio that still have the old zion i in there.

Their goal for the Take Over was to experiment with different types of sounds. They have soul, hyphy, jazz, and other styles of music in each of their songs, you just have to listen to more than one song before you can judge the whole album.

  • red skirt girl is quite fine. hell all three of them are hot, lol.

  • ;-)))

  • ill song ill clip ZION I TO DA DEF !!

  • nice´*** clip´*** hahahahahaha´....!!!

  • zion i is the shit! i have always listened to them even since their EPs back in the 90s... AmpLive is one of the more creative producers out there, im not sure i like the mainstream feel of their album, but im still a fan regardless of what they do. the songs on the new album are catchy and im gonna be sure to bump it in my car for at least the next month!!

  • I love it.

  • People need to stop this cocky commercial vs "real" hip hop shit. Get over yourselves

  • bump this shit in ur car!

  • at least you don't see all those hoes, money, bling and bullshit like that in this video like the rest of the stuff you see on MTV.

zion I is still one-up over the rest of the mainstream trash. the song isn't even that bad man. don't base a group/album off one song. stop judging a book by its cover.

  • amen

  • Damn man whats the problem? All of the artists you listed have some seriously hardcore lyrics. I think you need to get a little reality check,

  • anyone else notice the version on the mixtape is shorter?

  • west oakland niggah

  • Never heard a bad track from these guys, looking forward to a new mindblowing album..

(and about them getting commercial..don't think that's true, they just changed their sound a bit -more electronic influences-, but the message is still the same)Not convinced==> listen 2 The Rebel from The Search & The Seizure Mix Tape

  • can't wait for the album. stokelycarm is a obviously a toy...

  • this slappp

  • Good music is good music! People like you don't give room for artists to grow. Open your mind.

  • tiffany, "open your mind" pleeessee...LOL. i used to be a big zion I fan...but this new stuff is commercial trash.

  • Maybe you should dig your head under a "commercial" rock. The times are changing and music changes with it... like it or not. If the Jackson 5 never changed their sound from the 60s do you think Michael Jackson would be where he is? I want to see Zion I on Whitney Houston status, so they deliver their positive message to the masses. If you would actually listen to the message, you'll see there's nothing offensive or degrading like "commercial" hip hop.

  • Side B of their new mixtape's really good

  • ZUMBI is the sexiest rapper ALIVE!!! Juicy Juice mmmmmmm

  • We don't die We multiply.. that's riiight ZION I! I'm diggin the fast shots and close ups in the beginning and the dance moves. A dachshund and pigeons lol.

  • AMP LIVE!!!

  • one of the girls from RubiksLive is in the bleachers as an extra! :)

  • SLAP

  • dope ish!

  • Yesssssssssss!!!

  • Not the typa stuff I wanna hear from 'em, but I can still rock with it. They're good at makin bouncy joints.

  • Yeah Zion I, this is dope!

  • yea

  • geahhhhh dey back
