The composition of the music was done by the first emperor of Brazil, Dom Pedro I, who also declared the independence of that country (which was then part of the Kingdoms of Portugal and Brazil). The words are rich in patriotism, which are unfortunately not here. Perhaps "danibois4" can add them, or somebody else. The great emperor Dom Pedro II was kicked out by a coup of military and landowners angry at the freeing of the slaves in 1888.
