Ha no, he also likes to reveal scammers and liars . He has made so shows that I think you'd find extremely interesting . I'd imagine his Wikipedia site concentrates more on the magician side of things , but he does a lot of interesting and thought provoking things .
I just finished a Harper's piece on cell phones and brain cancer. A surprisingly good read, but short on conclusions. Probably reflects the current state of knowledge. What do you think? Are cell phones dangerous, or are the concerns motivated by fear and scammers? Or, is there just not yet enough information to know?
We really have little understanding of how low-energy electromagnetic radiation interacts with human cells (or other cells, for that matter). And we are fairly confused about how cancer gets its start, too.
So the only answer I can give is, I don't know.
I think it's a reasonable precaution to avoid cell phones. I avoid them myself. There are undoubtedly people - mostly those who profit from the industry - who would call that statement reckless, however.
I had my doubts, but I couldn't find the words. It's well formulated. But the effect of exercises are still very positive. Walking half an hour a day, keeps the doctor away.
Here's the deal. There's enough calcium in healthy vegetables, meats, and milk products if you avoid coffee and soft drinks. Those are acidic and require calcium to neutralize them. If there's not enough in the diet to cope, calcium is leeched out of bones.
So you take calcium (like Tums), and everything is peachy, right? Not exactly.
Tums and products like it will neutralize stomach acid, converting it into salts. Those salts will be excreted, not used by the body. Do that very much, and your digestion will become less efficient. Those acids have a job to do, and they can't do it if they're salts.
The "alkalinization" hype you see on the net is pretty much nonsense. Tissues don't become acidic unless seriously diseased, necrotic, or you are near death. Acid balance in a healthy tissues is homeostatic. "Coral Sand Calcium" is a rip-off.
You do need calcium in foods you eat, and you'll get it - if you choose healthy foods. Spend your money on good quality organic foods, not rip-offs.
I am a weightloss coach and focus on Alkalizing the body. Not one person has gained their weight back since I started.
I also have my clients drink Alkaline water. An example, one of my clients cleared her migraines (she had for a couple years) I knew she was lacking minerals. It took a week and a half for her migraines to go away. Even worse, many of my clients have been on anti-depression pills. It is sickening.
My program is based on over 70% Alkaline of the diet. Works great
you know i wish id watched this video before i bought two huuuugeee bags of coral calcium.
hahahaha just kidding! ps re the sleep thing, i dont sleep at night at all, I will stay awake ALLLL night and then wait for my kids to wake up, get em fed and dressed and sent off to daycare then go back to bed till 2-3pm from 9am for instance.......*sighs*
Alkalining the body(in the Ph sense)by eating alkaline materials is nonsense. The stomach is full of hydrochloric acid and it will instantly neutralize any carbonates, hydroxides and bases so the net effect is "no alkalinization" but neutralization. At best you increase very temporarily the Ph of your stomach so that you stop digesting food properly.
Everything can hurt. Anything and everything is poisonous, its all about the amount. Water can kill you, calcium, vitamin C, carrots, hamburgers, oreos, and oxygen.
Fuck, now im scared... i dont want to leave the house, but what if i eat my bed!! Im doomed.
There is a very important but wanting point in researches about cancer. There are people around the world who have cured cancer by themselves. If classical medicine examines these people and determines their average lifestyles-like what they eat,how they act- it would not be outside the scientific mainstream but on the contrary they would reach to genuine results.thanx for all info. Best Rgds
I agree, there is much wisdom to be gained by examining the lives, choices, and biochemistry of people who avoid cancer, or spontaneously remit it.
If we find a universal cure for cancer - I think we will - there will remain many diseases linked to lifestyle, toxins, and genetics. You've pointed to a fruitful area for research.
havent watched all of your videos, but i think you should address kevin trudeau directly. i have a family member who is enamored with the lies this man expounds
You ask your audience to have a healthy dose of skepticism. You speak to us about the power of belief. It leads me to wonder...What do you believe about religion, God, origins of existence...or whatever you want to call it. Are you going to do a series about your "beliefs" about those topics? I would be very interested to know what you belief on those topics!
I am not, sorry. It's beyond the scope for this channel, deliberately so. I want *all* people interested in nutrition and health to feel welcome here, not just those who agree with my views about religion.
The television lies to me, 2 doctors nearly killed me, and now you're telling me I can't believe what I see on the internet? That's it! The only thing I'm trusting with my health is my coca-cola! By the way I tried getting off the coke, but the headaches, the horrible pounding headaches.
Yes. Caffeine is a very serious addiction, and headaches are usual during withdrawal. The food industry knows this, and uses the knowledge to their profit at your expense.
If you're a heavy user, consider tapering off gradually over 6 months until you hit zero. Use herbal teas with stevia to sub for part of your soft drink load during the transition.
I think we're nearing the end of the HE series. Can't say I'm confident my views about the medical industry are sufficiently informed to render meaningful advice, though, either political or personal. I'll give it some thought.
As a person that has suffered severe health problems, I can attest to the desperation a person feels when sick. I know why people turn to the quacks for treatment alternatives. The so-called "legitimate" medical industry in the US - corrupt, flawed, and greedy, is not much of an improvement over quackery. I agree with your comments regarding the respected science of nutrition and health. But the science behind medical practice is only as good as the practitioner.
heck yeah... I am highly skeptical of things that attempt to be mass-marketed, produced, etc. AND I always tell people when they are about to try a new product, to RESEARCH it from authoritive sources. :)

Hi Urgelt, are you awareof Derren Brown?
marcr61 4 months ago
I was not, so I visited Wikipedia to read about him.
Interesting fellow. He seems to know some ways to fool people.
Not sure how that's relevant to this video, though. Unless you're implying I'm attempting to fool people?

Yes. Physical activity is essential to good health, and walking is wonderful exercise. Tunes up both body and mind.

Have you tried the website badscience by Ben Goldacre. This debunks all kinds of science myths and poor science reporting.

I do believe that calcium plays a very important part. Alkalining the body is the best way to keep the body healthy so therefore calcium can't hurt.

Actually, it can.

I'm tempted. But my purpose is not to become a "debunker" of individual fraudsters, but rather to simply encourage skepticism in my viewers.
Frauds arise all the time. The only meaningful protection is a skeptical public.

It's natural that people are curious about each others' beliefs.
But my purpose here isn't to share all facets of my life. It's to share information, in a focused way, with a little entertainment thrown in.
Anything that's in the vids is fair game; I've taken off the veil of privacy for those things.
