Lmao!! My parents used to bowl there and they'd stick me and my brother in the nursery they had. I wound up getting severely injured in the nursery and had to have plastic surgery on my face lol memories of Don Carters bowling alley...
I took care of a lady who went to school with Don Carter back in St. Louis before he became a famous bowler, and opened his bowling alleys. She said he was a real nice guy!
Don Carters Kendall was where I used to hang out on Saturday nights back in the 1980s and very early 90s..gorgeous big facility with 72 lanes on both sides of it..just massive..Paula Carter got her own bowling alley further south in Homestead that was named after her in 1990 and was destroyed by Hurricane Andrew two short years later in 1992. Its kinda due to demographics changing in Miami, white people moved out of Miami & most Hispanics do not bowl..so all the bowling alleys closed down

im hispanic, and i loved that place,
me and my friends (who were MOSTLY latinos) would go there every Saturday,
and we were sad when they closed it.
i might not go bowling as much now,
but thats because the closest is Bird Bowl,
which is a really good drive (about 40 minutes),,
when we used to have one that was only a ten minute drive.
There's another in Dolphin Mall, but that one is extremely expensive.
i really miss bowling at Don Carter's,, good times, good times..

RIP Don Carter's in Kendall. It's been 5 years since it was torn down. A great monument destroyed due to changing tastes and lack of money.
I will cherish that place for the rest of my life.

A young Paula paid a visit to England in the early 70's and was then of course Paula Sperba.
