I think the better performances for the contestants of this season came before top 12... they have more freedom to choose the songs that could define their artistry... Brooke is definitely an artist that season, but she got kinda lost on the big stage and failed to remain true to her music. But david cook has passed the test, and remained a rocker all throughout... that's why he won...
