the faulty compass drove me straight to the ghetto, but lucky for me I was armed with my reinforced wallet, dudes there urinated all over me, but again my wallet was waterproof, I only wished it was equiped with integrated cell phone, mountain rope and skate board wheels.....
Cool wallet, but this review was painful to watch. You need to better prepare your narrative adn not make it drag on so long. Over 8 minutes to show this thing was way to long!
I actually thought you review was done quite well, and thorough. In fact I spent my entire break watching it (and then so). For $130 though, this wallet put me off, but boy would I like a toothpick hidden in a cool wallet.
@undrtow0515 Thank you! The price is quite steep given the type of product, but it is a niche product and some people are willing to pay the price. Heck, if people will pay $195 for a Louis Vuitton card holder slot wallet, this seems like a steal compared.
Crappy review IMO. It took you over a minute before the review started. In that time, you could have included the weight (empty) as well as interior and exterior dimensions. Also, you should have lined the the compass next to a "credible" compass to compare the result.. instead of just flatly saying it was wrong. Lastly, you should have shown how many credit cards it would hold. I come away with more questions than I had before the "review" started.
@MM4L94066 You're right.. those are all great ideas that I should have incorporated.. I guess you really felt strongly about this since you posted this 4 times. I'm going to delete your three other identical posts if that's alright...
@customtacticals Sorry about that. I clicked "post" and it seemed to hang up. I clicked again and checked and nada. Then again and again, then I gave up. :D
@MM4L94066 I guess I should actually take the time now to answer those questions you had after watching my "review". The compass in the wallet just always points towards the hinged side of the wallet regardless of the position so no comparison is necessary. Other info as per website:
Approximate weight: 7.4oz or 208 grams
Dimensions: 4 in. x 3.57 in. x 1.15 in.
I put all my (credit) cards in it.. 8 fit and there's still room.
Wow, epic fail. You know if they got rid of the broken compass, the money clips, the pen, the toothpick and the tweezers, then they could sell it at about 60 bucks as a durable survival tin. I can replace this with a plastic bag because there is nothing in my wallet that can break, and a plastic bag floats.
@ReddogUK, most of us here in the States don't enjoy shoving our cash in a condom and up our ass. It kinda makes purchases a pain in the butt if ya know what I mean. ROFLMAO!!
that has to be the biggest load of BS wank i have ever seen. i thought it was a slip of the tongue when you said $130 but its true! i could get a mint tin, throw some tweezers and pen in it and have the same thing. not only will i have saved $128, i would also have some mints!
@freddyk021 That's a bit of an exaggeration, since the case is machined aluminum and waterproof, and could probaby survive being driven over by an SUV, while your Altoids tin would probably crush. Your Altoids tin also does not have a glass breaker, pen, toothpick or tweezers so you would have to purchase those things to put inside. You would in fact have saved only $120 and have wet matches.
@customtacticals That's a bit of an exaggeration. Since the altoids tin has a painted finish it is more pleasing to the eye, while the inner side could server as a reflective signaling device. Also, the inner compartment has enough room to fit not only one toothpick, but 50 toothpicks, 1 mini pen (not a pen ink cartridge), 2 pairs of tweezers and finally a compass. By the way, the compass in my 'Tactical wallet' is removable, so it will work.
So if you crash the car, Smash the plane or stumble off a mountaintop or get washed down a river, The guy that finds you first gets the goodies nice and safe? Isn't it cheaper to roll up the cash and squeeze it into a condom and conceal it somewhere that guy might not look? Keeping your cash out of someone else's pocket is the only tactic you need.
wow, that thing is the biggest peice of shit ever.. if im gonna pay 130$ for a souped up altoids tin it better be PERFECT not have some rinky dink POS compass that doesnt even WORK and i wouldnt put up with that BS rattling that would piss me off or that shitty machining job cmon atleast smooth it out and make it look neat..... shitty proudct i hope you got it for free or something
@silentknight2112 Its actually quite interesting that you noted two flaws that bothered me the most because I just got an email from the company that makes this wallet telling me that they have addressed the machining job and the rattling in their newest version. I'll be putting up a review as soon as I get this new one.
@pvtsnoballz I bet those who buy this are not older than 14 years old and if they are older there is some thing wrong with their brain( if they have any)
@bigfatjohn120 Spoken like a man who has never used a carbide tip to break glass. When you have a carbide tip, it does not take much effort to break glass, so long as it is not the windshield glass. The side and rear glass break fairly easily.
i don't like that there's no individual card holing mechanism. you just slap them together in the clip. that'll lead to the mag strips on cards rubbing and fading.
and if this wallet doesn't shield against RFID, i fear it is just a cigarette case with a compass. :(
That's an interesting wallet, wonder how it would feel to sit on? I'm also curious as to why you have Canadian cash when it says your from United States? Anyway nice review!
@evancbeer123 rear pocket - no. but I don't like wallets in my rear pocket. From pocket of loose jeans it is fine. Front pocket of dress pants, its okay.
Wow everything is turning "tactical", can't wait for tactical spoons that are black so I can eat while camouflaged at night and use it as a SD weapon :D.
What You could try to do to stop the rattling is take the hinge connector piece (the rod) and wrap it tight with very thin tape so that it fits snug in the hinges !
While I agree that this wallet might be a bit uncomfortable due to it's hardness, the size is no bigger than a standard wallet. In fact, I compared it with 3 of my wallets, and its actually slightly smaller.
It's too big to carry it in a pocket. Also you could buy an otterbox for $15 if you would need a quality waterproof box in a similar size. The compass gives it a cheap look. Self defense? I hope you were just kidding. Anyway i still like your knife reviews.
@hantasanta I wasn't kidding - the instructions say this. Remember guys, I did not make this product nor am I endorsing it. It was sent to me for review, and I reviewed it.
@nonglotter Likely if you're going to use Aluminum for a wallet, you wouldn't use Steel for something as large as a backpack. You would likely use Aluminum or Titanium if you were to use a metal. I would think a composite such as Carbon Fiber if you wanted a hard shell would be best.
This is likely for people who are planning to spend a large chunk of time in an outdoor setting where you may get an item wet. Not practical for most people, including myself.
@SharpestKnife95 my wallet is HUGE and doesnt have 1/2 of the stuff this sucker holds, I assume its not meant to go directly in your pocket but i dont think it would be an issue.
