indeed, katana's are badass, in comparison insurance is definitely cheaper but compare a 2001 gsxR to something like a 92 camaro Rs V6 and the difference is outstanding, insurance on my camaro is 140 a month, where as for a gsxr its about a hundred dollars chear, and then cheaper still if you have a GSXF (katana) where that is only about 18 dollars a month. i love bikes, just dont get a brand new one till your over 25 because insurance on a 2011 cbr1ooorr is OVER 1ooo, yes, 1OOO DOLLARS a month

great looking bike man. I also have a 2006 kat. They are just a joy to ride and they got plenty of speed too. The 2006 is definitely the best kat model. Im not really a big fan of the previous years models. The kat is definitely the best bang for your buc if your looking for a fast comfortable fun crotch rocket.

I like my '05 750, a little heavy but Im not a big person. Completely stock except being lowered. Great bike for the price. I can ride for hours on the highway with padded gloves. I don't understand why people would 'hate' it unless they are jealous because their sportbikes hurt their backs after an hour of riding lol

@DetroitPC313 Yes sir, The gsxr is a true sport bike.It,s lighter, the insurance is way , way higher, it,s not as comfortable.The seating gets awakerd after an hour or so.Every things just the oppsite about the GSXF.The GSXS IS A SPORT tourer.Its seating is way more comfortable.It,s about 70 lb,s heavier, which means it,s more stable.It whins out at about 135mp.The sport bike is good for another 30 mph.Look at the seat of both and you can see the diffrence.The inbetween bike would be the sv650.

@Didodrums Suppose to raise it by 3-5 .The biggest diffrence was when i went up two teeth on the rear sprocket.It also helps to lowwer it.I dropped mine two inces.It,s a fun bike.

I just bought a 750 Katana because it was a great deal. I have been riding a gsxr 600 for two years now but it needs some work. I want to hate the Katana but it rides so nice and is really comfortable....Why do I want to hate it so much? Right now I am probably going to continue riding the gsxr for some reason.....can't put my finger on it.

@ldeleon0714 .The dog bones.You can do it yourself.Its the two links between the shocks and the frame.I think i pointed it out in one of my vids.There about 60 bucks a set.Maybe cheaper.If you have any proublems or want to know any thing , let me know.

@cooperjalen It gets rid of that plastic on the tail fairing that is hanging down, all you are left with is 2 smaller and brighter LEDs as turn signals and your license plate tucked up and away, gives your bike a more sporty look. they are about 100-120 and worth every penny.

You're absolutely right.

The supersport bikes are awesome in their own right, but unless you plan on racing one on a track, you're just not going to get all that much practical use out of one. I imagine they're a lot of fun in the right circumstances, but they don't have the practicality of a bike like the Katana.

I'm gonna pick up an older 600 Kat in a few days. Have done a lot of searching, and I can't believe the amount of hate people have for the Katanas.  Doesn't make any sense. Yeah, they're heavy, and they're slower than most modern sport bikes, but who cares? I don't think anybody who buys a Katana is expecting it to smoke an R-6 or CBR600RR at the track.

I ride the crap outa it, no proublems what so ever.Mine has 14,000 miles and has never had a proublem.Thanks for asking.I would go with an SV650 over a katana.Its about the same power but about 120 pounds lighter.More adter market parts also for the SV650.

I do my own oil changes, and every thing else.That saves me about 40 bucks an hour that the shops would charge yah.I would go with a sv650 or a dm400.Both are lighter then the katana.

hey, i am 6 foot even and fit perfectly on my katana. my father who is 6 5, and he felt a little cramped. but most of his height is in his torso.

my best suggestion, try and find one to see how it fits.

I would get an sv650.Its way lighter and a better bike.You can do alot more with an sv650 then a katana.There heavy as a cow.Other then that there a great bike.I have this bike now and i would like to get an sv650.You can find one on creigs list for a good deal.Just look on creigslist.I also wouldnt buy new.You can find one with low miles thats thousands ceaper then a newer one. Man, I've had my 06 Katana for about a month now, I've got to say, it's still a pretty fast machine! I thought it would have been slower with all the mixed reviews i heard from "SuperSport" riders. But I'm able to keep up with them no problem!

i just bought an 05 katana as my first bike. it looks just like yours. i dont know much about bikes but when i get it up to around 100mph i can feel a slight vibration thoughout the bike. any ideas on what can cause this other than maybe tire pressure or tire balance?

my 02 katana is almost the same color...same blue but all bike is blue.

katana's are nice and comfortable but still pretty sporty and I am sure your bike being for years newer than mine is a better bike. its easy to go long distances with these bikes without getting tired

Go with an sv650.Its lighter and funnier.Scoots are real fun.I have to check out your scoot .Katanas are heavy.The sv is about a hunder pounds lighter.The sv is a better bike all the way around..The suzuki DM400 moto is a fun bike also.Thats what i want to take with me in my truck.Take care.

Nice rid m8!!! The V&H pipes are damn nice (better than original..). A friend of mine just got his Laser Extreme pipes for his Katana.. Sings all the way on the register(had to bench it aswell). Repainted it last year to match the Suzuki GP cycle of this year (which is a 800cc..).
