Oh ok:) I was also wondering why compound bows aren't allowed in the olympics because I want to be in the olympics but I shoot compound and I don't want to switch to recurve.
@1archergirl they ARE using sights, i dont thing anyone would show up to the olympics without a sight...and releases are only popular among compound bows, not recurve.

If you raise your bow, in the fashion that the Greek archers use, you are using shoulder muscles to accomplish the pull. I know. This is how I pull, and I pull on a daily basis. It's much easier on the arms...

olympic type bpws cost tens of thousands of dollars. start woth a cheaper recurve. keep i tin the 200-600 price range.

if your just getting into it then you don't want a bow like those yet
you should start of on a genesis then work your way up as you get better
