  • oppss.... my dirty comment goes for any douche bag that thinks they should tell Mr. Herwig that he is slacking..... Sorry.... my personal Jazz Nazi is comming out....

Alll Haters..... step aside and shut up.... you obviously havent worked on you circle lately.... piss off haters!!!

  • that dirty comment was for Mr. Muscician 992008

  • @musician992008 hey buddy, I think you are better at masturbating than commenting on youtube.... quit wasting you time!!

  • If I played the trombone like that I still wouldnt get laid! Bad Ass Mr Herwig! that is all I can say! Thank you, you freak. You have f*$@#D up so many trombone players, thank you!!

  • lo vi en vivo en rosario, con trombonanza, una maravilla, aguante trombonanza!

  • It is wonderful.

If it had known existence to be earlier, it had become a good hint.

Though I am touching the instruments only by the amateur for a long time.

  • Conrad is a great player

  • eh....No melody....odd choice in notes....no grove? I just don't get it but maybe I am just old school.

  • i agree

  • @MrKJohnson22

Yeah you are, Conrad has paid his dues and approached the trombone in a way no one has before. Before I listened to Conrad Herwig I didn't know of many bone players that played out. Conrad Herwig cites coltrane as one of his biggest influences which if you think about it, sounds quite wild when played on a trombone

  • @saxobone13

It is obvious that most of the solo is technical exercises he has used in practice. While it may be impressive on an ability level it still lacks the form and melodic presence needed to fit the music.

  • @Basstromboon Well how else do you get around a trombone so fast? You practice and do technical exercises so that while you're improvising when you hear an idea you don't have to go fishing for the slide position. Also Coltrane used Giant Steps as an exercise at first but I think that tune has plenty of melody and form. Just because someone who has a mastery of the instrument and choose to use it doesn't mean that they don't hear melody. You're not in their head, you don't know what the line is.

  • es un animal

  • maybe if you...nevermind whatever i say youre still not as good as he is

  • si que conrad es un grande tremenda flexibilidad..bravo conrad saludos desde Pucallpa-Perù

  • is it a king 2b ???

  • no, conrad plays on a bach lt16m.

  • It's weird for me to see him these days...I remember him from his North Texas days (early '80s)...he was this skinny kid with long hair back then. Wasn't any less monsterous though...!

  • I watched him play that solo. This video audio doesn't capture the true beauty of his sound. Truely a majestic player.

  • You're right - I think he (and everyone else) was too tight on the mic.

  • i got the live recording from matt niess right after the concert and the cd sounds incredible. they were disgusting that night. too bad mcfalls wasn't there as well I would have loved to see herwig and mcfalls go back and forth.

  • I saw Jim a couple weeks ago - he had to sub the gig - Matt was panicked until Jim eventually told him he got Conrad:)))))

  • Yes. That's part of his style. It's the only negative about him (in my opinion). If you put him in a big band context, it's hard to hear him. Other than that, he's got some crazy ideas.

  • Tuve el privilegio de escucharlo en vivo. y estás equivocado holygroove2. Conrad tiene sonido de sobra para pararse al frente del formato que quieras.
