  • How can anyone dislike this song? I admit it is the first time I have listened to it and I am nearly in tears...

  • I recommend using MediaOutletOnline for getting f*r ee s0ngs similar to this... You all should try and find it using Bing.

  • One of my favourite singers! xx

  • I can’t imagine this compelling song being sung in a more compelling way.

  • Maravilha De Música,Que Coisa Mais Linda!

  • Wonderful Song ! A Classic ! Love it ! Dolly sings a great version ! Thanks so much for sharing ! 5*****

  • This is a really great song and Dolly sings it beautifully. My favourite version - back in the 60s - was that by Julie Felix. It always gets a good reception when I include it in my set at a gig.

  • well made Arlo has more right to sing it because his dad wrote it.

  • This is such a beautiful version of a wonderful song. Such a sad story, this is a

lovely and fittingl tribute to the poor mexican and american victims of this tragic accident.

  • Thank you so much for Dolly Parton's version of this song. Brings a tear to my eyes every time !

  • This is amazing !!!! I LOVE DOLLY !!!! she is so amazing, there is not even a word to describe her !!!!

    Amazing :D

  • I first heard Dolly's version of this great song as I was driving to work in peak-hour traffic 25 years ago. I had to pull over to the side of the road and cry. No-one can sing it like Dolly ... And whoever told Arlo Guthrie he could sing did the rest of us no favours. The poor man has a horrible voice ... Thank you for this wonderful gift. I had the vinyl of "9 to 5"

but it suffered an unfortunate accident ...

  • Thanks for your wonderful comment

  • Hum... since it is Arlo's fathers song, might just give him the right to sing this song.... anyway he wants. Dolly's version is nice, but remember, there is more than one way to skin a cat.

  • OK, Arlo can't help having a horrible voice.

He's a good musician but he just can't sing...

  • OK, you don't like Arlo. To each their own, but let me ask you, if you ever heard Woody's version of his own song? I would bet you wouldn't have liked that either.

Some people like their sad songs a little rougher, more real.

  • Of course I've heard Woody's version of his own

song! I like it. I don't happen to like Arlo's voice,

and I have a right to my opinion. Do you have

any more rude and stupid comments you'd like

to make, while you're minding my business

    for me?

  • Your calling me rude? This is a message board. People sometimes don't agree. Did I make one comment that was disrespectful to you? As for your message to me. That was completely uncalled for. You are the one who should mind your manners.

  • So now you're an expert on manners?

I won't bother to disagree with your opinion.

It's clear you know everything there is to know.

I'll just bet you cheered loudly when the US invaded Iraq.

  • I thought we were talking about a song? Tell me when the subject was changed to foreign policy?

  • Just checking to see if you have any opinions

that wouldn't make me want to puke...

    Apparently not.

  • Let me review our little conversation.

    1. You say Arlo can't sing.

    2. I reply, saying I like Dolly's version, but I like Arlo's also.

3You ask If I have any more stupid and rude comments to make.

4 I respectfully ask you whether people can disagree on a message board.

5 You reply by questioning my potitical viewpoints? (This says alot about you by the way)

    6. When I question you on why you changed the subject you make another comment that refers to puking. Please tell you arent 12 years old.

  • I'm not 12 years old...

  • @stevenfrito well said. I actually prefer the Dolly version but it would be a beautiful song whoever sang it.

  • @stevenfrito your little contretemps occurred 12 months ago. Ive just read it and can i just lend you my support!!

why do so many people when they listen to music, feel the need to spurt hate remarks. some people are just plain weird.

  • @gaelemaat You are sweet and one of the things about Dolly that amazes me each time i listen to cover a song is what the how she makes it her own and makes you hard to imagine what it sounded like before she did it. Have you heard where have all the flowers gone/ it is magical

  • She often says she was not born a natural beauty? But at 157 not many are that beautyful as she is!!!

  • Beautiful Song!

  • Gotta love them southern girls, dolly is beautiful

  • WOW! You are right a much overlooked & moving version of Deportee. Thanks for posting. I ran across this by a FORTUNATE mistake. This is a much better song than Emmy Lou's. One of my favorite singers of this song is the live duet by Bob Dylan & Joan Baez & of course Woody or Arlo. Dolly actually brings a fresh quality to this song which she so often does with a cover song. I agree she should re- release this song.

  • The best are by Cisco Houston or Judy Collins but this is nice too .

  • LOVE IT 10********** I LOVE DOLLY

  • WOW I agree, she needs to revive that song, I know we have border issues, and there is a right and wrong way to come to America. Maybe this song would let people see, no matter what, they are PEOPLE TOO. Great song, great post!

  • Ï'm not really a big Dolly fan, but she sure knows how to sing a song. This is a good performance.

  • Yes Dolly's talent is undeniable even if you aren't a fan - much appreciated

  • "Deportee (Plane Wreck at Los Gatos)" is a great story-song. She is so talented it sometimes amazes you when you consider the depth of that talent.

  • What a talent. What a voice. What a spirit. A true American treasure.

  • another comment on this video is that Dolly,s voice is so crystal clear, that i,ve never heard in my life before...

  • A favorite of mine, another one that I love is "Working Girl", when my friends and I go out I always head to the jukebox and the first song I play is "Working Girl".

  • I listen to music with deep mindset. Listening to this song & others in the album years ago, I have loved all the soundtrack so deeply. one has to be a good music listener to appreciate great songs such as in this album. cheers, Dollyaddict.

  • what a song!!! what a talent!!! what a contribution to the music world!!! have been searching for this song on youtube; here at last. great song. i had in Nigeria those days in the 80s. i love this song; all the songs in the album & especially this track & the track called Dungeon. it takes a great heart to write the lyric with great percussion and a voice that is second to none in the music world. can keep writing. please, Dollyaddict, post the track Dungeon from the same album. cheers.

  • That is a really perfect song, one of those that really make you cry because they,re really drawn out of life and because they are just ..reality...!

  • lovely! a classic!

  • dolly partons voice fits this song so well, a beautiful and heartbreaking song, dollys voice is like listening to a angel sing, thank you dolly for bringing us some of the best music ever, there will never be another singer or person like you, love you dolly

  • One of my faves. Such a heartbreaking version of this song. Somehow this song is even more relatable today with all the immigration issues here.

  • this one hit my hart

  • I'm glad you like it- I wanted to post a beautiful overlooked song, tks 4 your comment

  • beautifully sung by dolly parton, what a voice, and I love the pics of her, thank you for posting this great forgotten song by dolly parton,
