I adore this video so much that I have recently been collecting cereal boxes from everyone so I can make a journal like this. I was able to use your "glue and pinch" technique for the cover of my first handbound journal and it gave fantastic results.Thank you so much for this wonderful tutorial! (I also linked to this video from my blog, giving credit where credit is due. I hope you don't mind)
@ChopsticKnitter of course I don't mind :) I always appreciate it & love to see what others come up with from my videos, your journal is lovely, I've been over and left a comment on your blog :) many thanks x
annie! again! I need to sign and take pix and I'll be done with my art journal! So happy! I miss seeing you online! Lots of good thoughts coming your way. :)
@bohemiannieart No need to miss me! I'm here, I promise, just having to balance my spare time a little at the mo to be able to create. Can't wait to see your journal, I bet it's gorgeous in true Annie fashion :) happy new year my dear x
Hey Jenniebellie! Yes!!! Unfortunately...we don't receive mail here...except maybe once a month - and all my friends know it - so we don't receive Christmas cards...BUT I have dozens of them saved from years ago!!! PS (I used lots of the painted boxes for my altered book pockets and tags but still have enough to get going with your art journal)! xxooxx
J, I absolutely love all of your tutorials! Keep on sharing your love of ephemera and eco-conscious art with the world! you are definitely a bright and shinning star brimming with talent. keep on keeping on :-]
@bohemiannieart Whoop! That's my girl! Make sure you're saving your xmas cards, just managed to get my hands on them and can't wait to get creating the journal and video xx
@panzerthecat Hmm it's always tricky, but ultimately you need to estimate how much time your daughter has spent making them and ultimately how much she is happy to sell them for. You also need to factor in materials. You need to make them so they are not unaffordable but you don't want to undervalue them either - people going to a fair are expecting handmade and know that this does not mean they are sold at mass market produced prices. Hope I've helped at all :) x
@effyswild thanks effy and thanks for visiting my blog, I love your work so it's lovely to see you there :) I'll have another recycled box book tutorial up soon so hope you like that too, much love Jenny xx
Wow, so impressed with how creative you are with just recycled items. It's so easy to fall into the "trap" of buying something for every project. I'm going to start saving all the little bits & pieces too! (and I'm heading over to your blog as we speak...:))
@britchickny thank you for the nice comment and the sub :) yes def don't throw anything - if you're creative enough (and I'm sure you are) you can always make something with it. Don't get me wrong though, I spend more than I should on supplies just like the next crafter lol. Hope you'll have a punt at the giveaway while you're there much love, Jenny
I love using cereal boxes like this. Unfortunately I rarely eat it for some reason! but I get my sister to save hers, and use cracker boxes! TFS!!!! I love your idea!
@lisa1968 thanks lisa, yeah cracker boxes & anything else are just as good. That's the beauty of recycling whatever you have available will make itself into something with a little patience, thanks for subbing, Jenny :)
