Yeah, I live in the U.S. Religious fundamentalists are unable to see any position except their own. They are deranged, and for some reason, their attitudes are tolerated for the time being. The nonreligious population is growing though, and religion has been dying out since the Renaissance. We won't make progress if we don't fight.

Guys, it is not about religion. Christianity does not save you, no religion saves you. By the grace of God we are saved. When I ask others, "Who goes to Heaven?" Almost everyone says the GOOD go to Heaven, BAD goes to Hell. I certainly agree with that satement. The problem, are we all really as good as we think we are? The answer is no, we are all lying, theiveing, blasphemous, murdererous, adulterous at heart, and evil cannot go unpunished. That is why we need to repent for our sins or perish.

We all no right from wrong. Whether you beleive in God or not, you know its wrong to lie, steal, commit adultery. The Lord says if you even look at anyone with lust, you are guilty of adultery in your heart. So, because we are "intelligent" enough to distinguish right from wrong, we are without excuse. There are many species of monkeys, they all fit in the "primate" category. Humans are in that same category, we are monkeys.

The old testament talks about laws given to the people by Yahweh that they have to follow. In the new testament, jesus sticks up for those laws and adds a few more.  He even toughens a few of them, like expanding adultery to mean looking at a woman and wanting her. How can you worship a deity that demands innocent human sacrifices?

What do you mean of course? Yahweh wouldn't have forgiven people without somebody being tortured to death? He could have just forgiven people. Nobody had to die.

Check out Judges 11:29-40. Jephthah told Yahweh if he let him win a battle, whoever greeted him when he got home would be offered to him as a burnt offering. His daughter ended up being the one to meet him at the door, so he sacrificed her. Yahweh didn't stop him.

Sacrificing animals never had anything to do with the forgiveness of sins. It was done simply because Yahweh liked the smell of burning meat. It started in Genesis 4 when Abel made the first animal sacrifice, which Yahweh found more favorable than Cain's offering of fruit. To have properly sacrificed jesus, they would have had to burn him. That's how Yahweh liked his sacrifices.
