Also GOTO Electronic Schmidt-Cassegrains& otherGOTO Computerized Telescopes should NOT be used in Winters where the Outside Air reaches 0 Degrees Centigrade or lower,or 40 Degrees Celsius.Actually Electronics GOTO Prefers Temperature of Backyards or Outdoors to be between 5 Degrees to 35 Degrees Centigrade.Target Celestial Objects of Winter during the late Nights 1 to 4 A.M.in late Fall October.Use only simple Tracking Right Ascension intruments &Telescopes with only Drive-Correctors in Winter!!
Achileas7 I own a Celestron C8" on a Fork Mount and a CELESTRON C11" on CGEM GOTO Computerized mount.I NEVER Collimate for Collimation is set PERFECT at both the CELESTRON &MEADE Manufacturers. What We Experience at these Apertures is"Total Atmospheric Heavy Turbulence that is rendered extinct by allowing your Telescope &My Schmidt Cassegrains to Acclimate that is Allow the Visual back OPEN to Allow Outside Air to Enter the Optics on Stellar-Star Clear Cool Nights for up to 1hour ,60minutes!!!!
This is Jules7892 Astronomy 1982 December BackIssues.Your 14"Meade is"Perfectly Collimated & you should NOT Tamper with NO set Collimation Screws, that will only make the situation worse which is caused by"Atmospheric Turbulence NOT any Collimation which is PERFECT".The Problem that is causing ALL your Turbulence is the Atmosphere! Achileas7,you MUST WAIT 60 minutes(1hour) with your Visual back open NO Eyepieces in order to Allow the Cool Ambient Air to Acclimate your Optics with the Outdoors!!
