  • I'm not sure about the new Syndicate. It probably shouldn't be an FPS. It should be a mixture between FPS & RTS with 4 team members.

  • Hey! great video. Don't know if you already know, but I figured I'd mention it, there's a new game coming out that seems to be very similar to Dungeon Keeper, its by Kalypso and called Dungeons. I just hope it does have the same feel, loved those games.

  • Sean is one intense dude!

  • I saw your post on the EAB forum and like you I love the Amiga and I have Syndicate on my A1200. I love this game and it reminded me so much of Blade Runner which as a movie I love also and the effects in that movie still hold up today imho. Thank you so much for uploading this interview it was great to see the creator of the game I spent so many hours playing.

  • Since I started programming pretty extensively since October last year, I've been under a lot of pressure and had to put in lots of time and concentration, so I know what Sean's been talking about.

I even noticed that I'm slowly growing white hair from all that and I'm just 20 years old.

    Love watching your videos, Matt.

  • Interesting stuff Matt, Syndicate was a big favourite of mine on the Amiga also. Look forward to hearing more.

It was nice to see the BBC Micro and Archimedes also- I used both these computers at school! :)

  • Awesome video Matt!

I love his descruption of finding the color PCs in the studio, like "wow! 32 colors!".....those were the days :)

  • Brilliant interview, such a great walk down memory lane! Thanks Matt!

  • Another tip top video mate, loving all your interview videos very cool cheers ;o)

  • He hit the nail on the head about the English thinking different about games than the Americans. I would say it's now European rather than just English. Look what American's think of as an RPG: Jade Empire, Mass Effect. Alpha Protocol, Dragon Age. Look what Europeans think is an RPG: The Witcher, Two Worlds, Boiling Point, Gothic, Drakensang, Space Rangers, etc. No.1 in U.S. is money, so all games are console orientated. Money isn't No.1 in Europe, hence STALKER on PC only for example....

  • EA is working on an 'updated' Syndicate - what's the betting it will be a FPS like the new X-Com game! Every genre now seems to have FPS/TPS as part of it's genetic makeup - and I don't mean a small part - I mean 70%+!!!!

  • Great stuff! All these guys are so cool to be interviewed and all seem like really great guys! Glad you are doing this!

  • Brilliant really think the added images add so much more to the interview.

  • Very interesting, shows that a big part of it for some people who experienced success in the game industry was being in the right place at the right time - as well of course as having the required skills and knowledge. I'm also looking forward to the next video, as Syndicate was one of my favorite games back in the day, and it will be very interesting, as there was a large difference in how it ran on my Amiga 1200 (14MHz) compared to my brothers 286 PC (12MHz) at the time...

  • Great vid as usual Matt. Looking forward to part 2 =)

  • Looking forward to the next part!

  • Another great vid!

Have you ever played Bullfrog's Dungeon Keeper 1 or 2? I love those games.

  • @LordDreagon I have played those games, though they were a $#$@ to get running on a modern system. They would make great material for a future episode, though. Such a brilliant concept!

  • @blacklily8 please do an episode on Dungeon Keeper!! maybe some interviews?

  • Interesting stuff - he poked around with the Arc, so I wonder if he had anything to do with the RISC OS port of Syndicate? Also the Arc had 256 colours, so I'm not sure about the colour thing.

  • Wow, thanks for that, fascinating, shows the difference between us brits and the americans lol

  • @RetroGamerVX Yes, Americans want to be filthy stinking rich, we settle for filthy and stinking. Well, that's my excuse, anyway. 2 out of 3 ain't bad :)

  • @Reorte Lolol, Yes, I don't want to be filthy rich, comfortable and not to have my name on a building (as that's tacky) would suit me fine :o)

  • @Reorte lol

  • Woo hoo, first lol, (sorry, could not resist that) lol

  • @RetroGamerVX Oh no, you're one of "those" people :)

That's ok, I go to that "hockeybuzz" site a lot and EVERYONE there does the "first" thing when a new blog goes up :)
