He's lifted this, Korngold and Dvorak's 9th Symphony for his scores. James Horner is notorious for his "quoting" of classical composers in his music. There is a fine line between plagiarism and homage.
@CopyboyVideo I wasn't really convinced that Williams was inspired by this music until 00:14... The uploader isn't claiming that Williams did anything wrong, is he? I, on the other hand, feel that the two musical tunes/themes are a bit too similar. But you are absolutely right in that he really turned this music to something special, and I still love Williams.
this is near the very end of the final movement (i have it around 3:50 on a disc that runs to 4:20)... but anyway, haven't composers/musicians been imitating or sampling or stealing since forever ??

Please. Perhaps he pulled the idea from this, but the E.T. theme is still a masterpiece. He took three bars and turned it into a child's dream.

there is another "rip-off" from Dvorak that John Williams used for Star Wars...I will let you know if I can find it

@lorcasebastian There's a video that covers it. It compares a Korngold theme with the main Star Wars theme.

The Jaws theme was lifted from one movement of Holst's "The Planets"
