  • seriously?? I was expecting a real trick... not this granny help!

  • :DD in Win7 i write Power and this play Powerpoint :D

  • can you do a tutorial to increase GPU performance ?

  • @xBlacKxHawKx993 i wanted to say the same thing xD

  • cool

  • thanks man. really appreciate the vid.

  • so if you have a 2.27 GHz of processor will it go up by like 2.4 GHZ?

  • @deltaA320 u can overclock almost any processor by 20% with standard cooling. so that processor can run with 2.72 GHz . quite a difference

  • black people with blue eyes...

  • dude nice tut

  • great, thanks

  • coolness

  • very nice tutorial

  • dang FINALLY THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!

  • this is awesome

  • good job very helpful

  • this is great i was looking for this

  • great job this really helped

  • wow i didn't know u could do that

  • cooooollll

  • thanks ;)

  • U SAVE MY LIFE

  • i needed this, thanks

  • Comment removed

  • @saruxelis LOL it was requested.... I know its basic, but a lot of people didn't know they had this feature.

  • @darken731

    Well u right ;]

  • @darken731

    Yup I screwed up....

  • @darken731 thanks for that

  • @saruxelis ur grandpa is a she????????????

  • @saruxelis your grandpa is she? nice

  • Meh i put it game booster settings

  • thx man so much faster!

  • High Performance disables power saving features but does not make your CPU faster than it's capable, nor will it cause damage as some have stated. Google 'processor power management', 500 characters is not enough to explain it.

In Vista, I noticed Power Saver did limit the CPU speed on AC to 50% by default and one remedy is to set it to High Performance. You can also change 'Maximum processor state' to 100% in the plan settings under 'Processor power management'. Win 7 should be set correctly.

  • High Performance can actually use more CPU. Let me tell you why, if your running a game that hogs CPU like GTA IV, or your CPU isn't really good for the game you'll get hell lag. Your computer might even lock up at 100% CPU usage.

  • what about XP any idea freinds

  • awesome :D

  • hey can i be friends with u on steam???

    nice vid!!

  • @yoman299 send me a message

  • IM USING WINDOWS 95 I NEED TO INCREASE CPU PERFORMANCE ON MY i7 IT TAKES TOO FAST TO OPEN FILE I NEED TO SLOW IT DOWN TO SPEED MY BRAIN WORKS AT I AM MEMBER OF WESTBORO BAPTIST CHURCH I HOPE YOU UNDERSTAND

  • (Coming from a laptop user) This DOES increase performance, but (As windows will tell you) it KILLS your battery life. (Not just for the next few hours- Permanently). I wouldn't recommend doing this for long periods of time, as my battery only holds 10 minutes of charge now.

  • will this work on a laptop without frying it

  • You guys can try high performance mode, but be warned it can fry your graphics card if you have a laptop.

  • @F3ARL388 You couldn't be more wrong. I don't know where to start.

  • @redxii1234 Start at the part where you're wrong about me being wrong. High performance mode wears graphics cards down faster, end of story. If you have a valid explanation otherwise, please explain instead of just pointing out who you think is wrong.

  • @F3ARL388 Desktop/Laptop GPUs use lower clock speeds when idle. What wears down hardware is heat, and you can only cause a component to heat up is if you put a load on it or poor cooling or ventilation/maintenance (e.g. dust).

Correlation does not equal causation, just because you changed it to High Performance and your GPU failed you can't say for certain that was the cause. If anything failures are likely caused by lack of care, people (laymen) treating them as if they were indestructible.

  • @redxii1234 So high performance mode makes hardware run at full capacity rather than the more limited capacity of the other modes? Which I imagine causes heating to occur more rapidly, and cause some damage if not properly ventilated. I didn't explain it in the first comment but by the time a person with a well used laptop tries this mode, they probably have a pretty thick layer of dust that will accelerate the wear and tear due to heat. We are in agreement: correlation and not causation.

  • So, you play CS:S? Whats your name on it?

  • @deluxe368 send me a message and I'll tell you my steam

  • thanks for showing us Trick... : )

  • on windows 7, u actually go to create a power plan, then choose high performance

  • Yeah fuck you , I'm not using a fucking PC you retarded shit !!!!

  • wow that helped..

  • ಠ_ಠ If you ever owned a laptop you know this for SURE.....Thanks for trying.....

  • My comp is 7 years old and it runs HD NOW!!!!!!!!

  • how do u do this with windows 5.1?

  • -.- and i thought it doesn't make a difference, i had it set to power saver

  • i dont have those options...... my options are

    Gaming mode power plan

    Power4gear high performance

    Power4gear battery savings

  • WOW dude thx alot men , its super fast now ;D

no need to overclock you just saved me a lot of bucks ;D

  • DEfinitely faster! Thanks! =]

  • worst "tutorial" ever..

  • @clark05 please explain :)

  • @clark05 I found it was a pretty well made tutorial and it actually worked! thanks darken731!

  • right, now something that matters? this setting was default on my install

  • @nelizmastr I'm not surprised it was set by default but many other computers have it as power saver just like mine. I'm trying to to get the word out to the youtubers that there is an extra boost to the people who didn't know there was a high perfomance option.

  • @darken731 my fucking Proccessor overheated and now my comp is sucking dick

  • @nelizmastr Smartass.

  • @Superbeaner189 pointless comment. epic fail.

  • my windows is a Last XP v16.2.3 service pack 2 i don't have that setting is ther some programe that i can download ? pls help

  • lol that is on a laptop epic fail what u did was just to take the power to max that is not doing a shit and i cant do it in a normal pc

  • @madeofmoney1995 I'm actually running this on a DESKTOP, if it would be a laptop It would have a notification showing the BATTERY. Epic phail

  • @darken731 haha yeah, you have to click the [ + ] and it will drop down the next power level which darken wants.

  • What I'm talking about is how you disable the Windows 7 Bar, and go back to the ugly (But efficient) look.

    Ya know?

  • Mine only has balanced and Power Saver.

Plus I did this before, but accidentally changed themes, and blam...

Except I went into a bunch of different tabs, clicked a few buttons, and did something like clicking "Best Performance" In which almost all the checks were unchecked on the... List... Thing.

    I have no idea. :D

  • Ok i done it. Thanks m8 it is really cool. I can feel it gets better in Fps

  • But how do i do on Windows 7? amd are u sure its not Dangerous if it gets overheated??

  • @TheWorld961 Windows 7 should be similar.. It is NOT dangerous.. Think of it this way.... You bought your computer for that kind of speed, and once you got your computer it is actually running 50% than 100% the speed you bought it for...

  • Okay cool ty m8 :) it worked

  • Ok how much performance is it doing in games? ( FPS )

  • @TheWorld961 I don't know about FPSwise but I noticed I lagged less and run my games more smoothly.

  • @TheWorld961 well, if you have a 2.16GHz CPU speed and 2.00 of RAM while playing L4d2 then you'll lag still

  • Is it Dangeros? and is it good for games?

  • @TheWorld961

It is not dangerous, and it is good for games :D

  • When I type in "Power" it only shows "Windows PowerShell" :(

    Pls help :)

  • @GPorginal Are you using a laptop?

  • No. But i find a way ;) (in Windows 7)

Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Power Options > Then follow your Vid :)
