I've fished the keith wilson and i dont snag them. All i do is float fish i do not beileve in snagging fish i have done it myself but i dont like it. I have the same set up as you i fishing under the keith wilson bridge and i hooked them in the mouth there not all snaggers they like to fish that spot because its loaded with fish majority of them are snaggers but there are straight up fishermen that fish the keith wilson bridge i fish everywhere on the vedder and i see alot of peoplethatdontsnag
To avoid the gong show I either: avoid the Vedder/ Chilliwack completely or arrive at the spot I want to fish about an hour before dawn (preferably in the week).
duude that is a fly reel, the "clicker" is to hold the reel while you pull out more line whilst false-casting without it spinning all your line out. you're better off with a proper reel (what you would call a "spin" reel) it'll save you winding the hell out of that you can get 4 or 5:1 ratio's makes it much easier, and the drag lets out line slowly to fighting fish, the fly reel only has a very limited drag if any
@joestropicals um no, it's a centre pin reel, standard gear on the West Coast of British Columbia. This one is a John Milner Talisman to be specific, modeled after the Hardy Silex reels with some better features. We don't use spinning reels much in BC for float fishing.
dumb question before i wanted to learn how to cast before i got my cp reel its acually very simple to castXD like every thing u need to get out there and practice before u get extreme accureate ect.. with it.BTW i read the island manual and it says the clicker can be used while fighting a fish as a mimiul drag so fuck off u loser
@monsterholics no clicker is only used for a break while u are walking. using to much clicker and u will break your pin. noobs that use clicker while landing fish shoud just stick with a spinning real.
What kind of reel is that? Looks like a fly reel. Also, I agree with you on the flossers/snaggers, can't stand those jerks. Its illegal in most rivers in WA state, but people will do it anyway.

Hi, I'm physically not good to go to the very rough side of the bank. Could you please tell me where and how to go on vedder river for easy access like me. Your video is very useful and described very well here.
@bazlur Sigh.... the Vedder river is a -very- accessible river. But in order to figure out that access you're going to have to get off the computer and actually get down to the river. In our push button world, so many people expect to be able to simply "google" their way in to fish and don't want to put any effort in. You will never catch a fish unless you go fishing. So go fishing damn it! You may or may not catch one, and that's the part of the challenge and enjoyment in sport fishing.
@doublechivas #1 Owner SSW cutting points. My -go to- set up for float fishing roe is a 20-25g DNE foame float, 3-4 #4 split shot, 8lb Maxima ultra green leader and owner hooks.

Totally agree with everything you have to say about the sport of fishing. There are so many snaggers and flossers where I fish. It's sad...
I'm glad I was taught the right way.
Awesome fishing channel!
