Not bad but I see you faded out just as the bass line was about to get busy! That was slick but I caught you, didn't I? Nice try though! Keep it up and when you learn the full song, redo.
Jamersonshook - you know you're my favorite bass clinic cat on YouTube, but you must give a better listen to this tune. I'm not talking about your chops. It's deeper than that. Listen more, practice and try again.
The beauty of British musicians is their HIGH regard for the American Black Musician of the Motown/Stax era. Not even today's black musicians share that regard.
Thanks for keeping the spirit of the groove alive, jamersonshook.
It's 9:39 Friday night 4/4/2008, 40 years since MLK's assasination, Marvins message so strong & relevant today. Had seen your post before, but never clicked on it. Nice playing of the late great Jamerson, very soulful and sweet. Wish there was more music like that around today, would be nice to jam with you, keep up the good work, you've got great potential. Marvin & Jamerson, super talented legends no longer with us, but still so ever alive in our hearts & music,PEACE!
Very good efforts in your posts. It's obvious that you love the Jamerson sound. That's the first step toward understanding the Jamerson sound; the love of the sound.
Stay with it. Go deeper into times and the circumstances that shaped Jamerson and the Motown sound - Civil Rights movement, Detroit riots, assassinations, dogs, hoses, etc. Motown took that and made beauty out of it.
never forget the folks who gave everything so we could someday be there digg! nice basslines, so miss this brothers music! and His young bassplayer into the seventies was also off the hook!
Not bad for a 1st take my friend..a little flub, but hey..those shoes will never quite be filled...have u gotten any[worthy] gigs from ur videos being posted?..man, I would have alotta fun playing witchu - too bad u're not in the states...anyways..
How bout some Chuck Rainey (Main Ingredient, Aretha era)? - betchu could kill that too..
Cheers - I could do with lots more hours in the day to have a proper go at it. I've not got any gigs or sessions yet - I never really thought it might lead to any but you never know...
I'm gonna put a little Chuck Rainey playalong up for ya!
Ay, don't let me pressure you. It's your channel. I just know you would nail WGO. Plus it would be hard to watch such a Jamerson fan not have it lol!
But again, I have to recommend Darling Dear, one of my favs. It isn't well covered, with I think one, though very good cover, by Mikeybass777. Also, I Want You Back also by the Jackson Five, just because no one can play it quite right.

I love that song, one of the best Jamerson lines ever IMO. Very well executed.
After watching it about 5 times, I just noticed you're playing it with only the index finger like Jamerson did, good job :)
