  • Cover of this song: /watch?v=C_TmQY_Kobw

  • kick-ass live performance

  • Reminds me of an Austin Powers movie set. The setting, not COC!

  • I would much rather wear a tshirt, jeans and a flannel shirt instead of a suit, to the fuckers complaining on clothes.

  • Pepper Fucking Keenan.

  • I love the negative comments on this......

Mature references to the audience being made up of "fags" or "nerds" or them "not dancing right" or just not having long enough hair or the right clothes. Blah blah blah.....

I think that the huge smile on Pepper Keenan's face would suggest he's having a good time...as are the "fake poser non-metal crowd".

  • where the fuck they play, revenge of the nerds frat party?

  • @eddie123212 Its a Television studio gig mate. Basically an alternative music show covering a lot of different styles. The word had many of the greatest bands of the 90s playing live. Who gives a shit what the dancing people wore, they were probably paid to be back ground props, and the 90s was only a tad from the 80s, where people lost the plot with fashion. remember it was cool to be treg? i miss that.

  • Officially Stoner Metal !

  • Hellyeah light a big fat green 1 and chill to c.o.c

  • how do i get my hair like peppers?? got the length but dammit that man got the flow!!!

  • @samlcope

A new shampoo and a conditioner is vital for the hair^^

  • Oh, fuck, I hate this crowd... they're like "yeah, we're on a rock concert !" - fucking poser idiots with no sence for music...

  • @HispanicImpression they're having fun and you're jealous... admit it man, lol.

  • watch?v=BoRK-2_WCBY

    B&B & COC

  • 3:33 they don't look to impressed

  • mike dean wreckin the drums, pepper sounds so badass in this!

  • @MrStonermetal Mike is on bass. Though Pepper does sound fantastic. Wish they'd do an actual tour together again.

  • @DashCat9 pepper with down is better i think

  • @axllovesslash I'm a bigger Down fan than I am a CoC fan. But I've seen down about half a dozen times in the past four years. I haven't seen CoC once in that time span.

  • Love it...every so often I need a listen great band !!!!!!!

  • What stupid ass show is this???? This is not a metal crowd, and they are not even dancing right to it... it looks like American Bandstand. I mean it's great to see COC and metal get mainstream attention; but this show is phony bullshit!!!!

  • @casbah1982

Its called "The Word " ,a British show, not around anymore. They dont get in metal crowds just because a metal band is on. They used to get some good bands on though...Sepultura & Nirvana played on it too

  • @casbah1982 Do you not think your taking it a bit to serious, as in everything in your life a little bit too serious?

  • Drum set destroyed...... If I ever get the chance to play on some TV show I'll get some less expensive equipment and destroy it all... drums, guitars, band members I'll wreck them all

  • Fucking WICKED RIFFING

  • dude there's a guy disguised as santa claus in the crowd :D

  • watch?v=ObOgdmOaw8c

    CHECK THIS OUT!

    WE NEED OPINIONS!!

  • Now they call it stoner doom ... CoC is still one of my fav's from the 80's ....Fuck YEAH!

  • FUCK YEAH....

  • This is much better than the studio version which is shit.

  • what a weird mixture of people the crowd is

  • waw dude crazy "special2 effects in the background :)

  • pepper kinda reminds me of zakk wylde in this video

  • @kGmusicpage HE better take that as a huge compliment :P.. but yeah he does

  • SHIT TV SHOW

    GREAT BAND

  • Why isn't C4 this awesome any more?

  • YEAHHHHHHH!

  • I still spin Deliverance at least once a month. I too liked this era and these guys ROCKED!

  • The Background is freaking me of

  • the guitar player with the SG looks like Mankind...or Mick Folly, whatever you want to call him.

  • never realised C.O.C had been on the Word

it was car crash tv programme Nirvana played on it where cobain said the famous courtney loves the best fuck line and all the 'grunge' bands threw their drum kits about, but there were some great moments on

Henry Rollins interview with idiot presenter terry christian was v. funny

beastie boys interview w/ another halfwit presenter was also v. funny

'spreadin like a rash on yr nasty ass!!'

  • I AM DONE

    MIOCKY FUCKIJNG MOUSE

  • metallica were mugs not to have pepper keenan on bass when they had the chance the mans a riffmonger, metallica could have written some much better stuff with pepper in the band

  • @safant1978 Yeah piss on em....

We'd a lost out on one of the best bands ever to grace the stage. First for me was onstage with Pantera New Year's Eve '95. Long live em, and God rest Dime's soul.

  • @oneaware amen to all that, the metallica knobs probably would never've let him do down on the side either

  • The 90's fucking ruled!!! Pantera, Alice in Chains, White Zombie, NOLA bands, Soundgarden....

  • @DrugstoreCFH Amen to that brother!

  • la chimba que manes tan asperos !!!!

    COC!

  • This music sucks!

  • @guelle1612 What is the point im watching then? just go and watch something you like and enjoy it while I enjoy this!!! Why do people always do that on youtube...

  • @Idey1994 because they got nothing better to do, C.O.C. ROCKS!

  • @guelle1612 NAh!!!!....u suck.

  • @guelle1612

    If you don't like it..

    Dont listen to it..

Any how, GO and fuck yourself and wank to you're Justin bieber stuff fucker.

  • Yeah.. far out!!

  • it looks like COC is on TRL. still sounds sweet despite the fact that i didnt see any of these kind of people the last time I saw coc

  • CoC RULES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Why do they play it faster and less melodic live?

  • Its just pumped up a bit.....but I see your point. Some bands take "pumping it up" too fucking far and ruining it. I can more then live with this live version. Gets me pumped up!

  • Goddamn that looks like fun.SDMF.NOLA

  • \m/

  • that audience is insane xD

  • Cookin tone

  • what does that even mean

  • Can't stop watchin this vid. Thanks for postin mate:-)

  • What a cool video. Thanks for posting.

Fans of COC will also enjoy the musical stylings of VSD from Baltimore.

Recorded live in 1987, VSD- mental Breakdown, Phantasmagoria. the classic Kill Your kids and 4 other crossover gems.

  • This sh....t gives me goose bumps!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Man, I love real music by musicians.

  • thatd be the perfect venue background to get super baked and watch corrosion haha

  • BLAST! t on drummer

  • Pepper Keenan was involved in writing two of the best songs in metal......albatross and stone the crow!!! fuckin' A pepper.

  • Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeetness. What kinda show was that they were on? Never heard of "the word." Props to them though for having COC on there. Even if they'd didn't belong with that certain crowd. Good to expand horizons and open minds.

  • it was a show on channel 4 in the 90's, i think they have some old episodes on 4OD, it was a top show

  • they had sepultura on the show too

  • all the squares there are wondering why they feel the sudden urge to smoke cannabis and party

  • Comment removed

  • @ sam8529 your mother suffers from black snake moan

  • that black chic on the couch after looks yumy

  • dirty and vile

  • i saw them in1996 in memphis. it was so bad ass. wish they were touring now

  • fuck! i remember this from my youth, the word was fucked up.

  • i would love to go to a corrosion of conformity show surrounded by crazy ass retro screens.

  • Fuckin' stonerrr!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! \m/ COC!!!

  • Jesus H Christ. WOW!

  • One of the reasons metal bands did so well on The Word was the volume! Thats bloody epic for a TV studio.

  • This is like Slayer playing in front of a Jonas Brothers audience funny as hell and such a waste

  • hahaha....it does look like they crowd were expecting destinys child or something!!

  • @matzchase COC had fun. You can tell. That's all that matters.

  • kickass song

  • 3:03 .... WHAT THA FARK!?

  • Bukake??

  • what kind of lame audience is that?

  • jaj COC are SOUTHERN HEADBANGERS.

  • Fuck, man, everyone is really drunk on this show! I think the producers did this on purpose: the crowd are jumping, the band are making mistakes but sounding badass anyway, hahaha! No-one does it like this now, too politically-correct and bullshit! Wasn't this the show where they had Sepultura fans in a cage? :-D *Misses the early/mid nineties*

  • @Saighton

I guess the audience is bought, not drunk... This stuff reminds me of those "Top of the Pops"-Shows... No fans, but actors...

  • @Saighton this was a scum bag of a tv show, I used to watch it all the time, parts of it were truely terrible and so cringe worthy.

However they had some damn cool bands on....like COC and especially sepultura.

  • I like loadsa stuff from Deathcore, Stoner to nu-metal, but CoC are just the best metal act ever

  • one of the best bands in history.

  • This band sound sharp as a knife!!! COC

  • Fuck yeah pepper! Gonna see Down soon

  • One of my favourite bands and the best song. Really good, giving me great feelings.

  • Goddamn That's metal but it's also really heavy blues.

  • Looks like im not the only one that likes this song.

  • thats shitty that they couldn't play the whole song. love this jam. good hard riff.

  • The most underrated Rock / Metal act considering they pioneered Stoner Sludge Metal

  • @cisco9x Totally agree mate. C.O.C. are so overlooked it's a crime. Doubt it means much of a fuck to them tho. They will always be the perfect smoking music! Fly on albatross....

  • @cisco9x Yeah dude....BUT! Still they are awsome.....and they kick some major ass.

  • @cisco9x I would argue that stoner sludge metal blueprint was laid out by early Soundgarden. If you check with pepper, phil anselmo, jimmy bower, any of them will cite early soundgarden as a huge influence on sludge metal. All that early 90s stuff was pioneering music, whether its coc, soundgarden, alice in chains or down or faith no more or pantera.

  • @Grimeyhoob Stoner and sludge has its roots in the 80s. COC's early crossover records, Black Flag's My War, Saint Vitus, Dream Death (who coined the term Sludge) as well as the obvious Witchfinder General, Trouble, and so on.

  • I saw this on a Friday night at the tender age of 15 and it blew my mind. Went out and got 'Blind' on tape the next day. Big stuff.

  • AMEN!!! LONG LIVE C.O.C

  • amazing band

  • never knew I was f+=king Albatross.... And I rock!!!!

  • Monster riff.

  • whish this show wud mek a comeback. there fook all live music shows on TV nw

  • Those were the good days. COC is in my fucking blood for life.

  • I love COC , too. I have all their albums from "Eye for an Eye" up to "In the Arms of God". Have seen them live a bunch times; headlining their own shows, opening for Megadeth, Metallica etc...

Think you would enjoy another band I found on youtube called VSD. they play some good old school metal.

  • i know we owe all this to sabbath, but this!! kicks ass. they should be presidents of the states man!

  • the best

  • soooooooo bad

  • Thats some serious riffage

  • amen itslike

  • i saw them a few times in about eighteen years ago-they rocked and the drummer reed mullin was awesome

  • Dam it, I miss the good days of rock , when bands like this reigned!

  • Pepper Keenan is amazing

  • Woah that background is trippin' me out

    I freaking love this song!

    Long Live C.O.C. (Please Comeback!)

  • oh god! I wish I was there!!!!

  • fuck it....like the guy in the deer hunter, maybe that was an act of utter desperation, Yes.Sab but fuckin true.

  • I was only fourteen when this cane out. And dont bring atlanic wars into it. Its a fucking good song, a great band, and no need for negativity. Peace. Fuckin Rock |On

  • thats original hardrock i love it

    ...

  • Weak ass Brits..no wonder they lost the revolutionary war.....

    Sig

  • figata cazzoooooo!!

  • HELLYEAH! **high five** hahah

  • man that crowd is fuckin fried, lmfao

  • What do you expect with CoC in ya face??

  • Wow, great vid

  • Obviously I love this band. However, I'm just realizing they can be hit or miss live, vocally at least. Both Pepper or the drummer(whom i just now discovered sang, or tried to sing at some point backing vocals, were struggling with the timing a couple times here. Weatherman is a guitar god.

  • your mom can be hit or miss live

  • COC rules where ever they go, but this was obviously filmed in Europe, South America, or the UK. Sad to say no one broadcasts this quality of rock, and no audience gets into it quite like this in the US anymore. Closest we have here is MTV which utterly sickens me, even headbangers is one lame ass, monotonus advertisement. That's what I think.

  • Never heard of The Word-but great footage Ive never seen.Thanks.Metal rulz.

  • Fuckin great post, dude.COC are the shit! From my home state.

  • Why do people type With All The First Letters As Capitals? Makes you look demented and thick... And yes, Sep did play Refuse... On here

  • The singer looks like the singer from Ugly Kid Joe.

  • Balls To Wall Fuckin' Hard Rock Here. If You Don't Like This And Would Rather Listen To Bullshit Rap Then You Need To Go Fuck Yourself. This Is Real Music My Brothers. Rock On.

  • Fcukin heaviest ba$trd sh1t EVER! Get LOADED

  • i am in 110% agreement!!!

  • fucking A saw em in nashville in 2005 awesome

  • SIMPLY TH SHIT!

  • Animosity? Cant find it on the youtube.

  • How come there's not more COC on youtube? Fucking classic band. Also, I have to agree with docchud, The Word was one of the worst British tv programs of the 90s, but it did have good bands on. Sepultura did "Refuse/Resist" on The Word I think.

There's a pretty cool British metal band you might wanna check out, type in "cambian" and "dawn". Not really like this though, more melodic vocals and whatnot.

  • one of the mostunderrated heavy/thrash metals in the gud old days of true rock, now this is a music not the fucking music today who pretend rock n roll band!!! old school rocks always!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Fly on.. mothefuckah!! \m/

  • this is kickass :)

  • )O( That studio was graced by Greatness!

  • lol its not really a venue tho its a tv show lol and anyway its coc and tis live 10000% better than seeing a band miming on totp lol

  • hah I bet maybe 5 of the people in that crowd had actually heard of c.o.c.

  • I don't know, it looks like they're all digging it.

  • GREAT band, lame audience, lame venue. The place even looks like a freaking disco. You are right man, only a few people in the crowd knew COC and some are just jumping around without a fucking clue of the song. Posers, lol!

  • YOu dont need to know the band to dig their music. Besides, stoner rock is all about having fun anyways.

  • the audience on that show were notorious for jumpin up and down like clueless fuckwits whenever a metal or hardrock band played. there would be about 5 people who would be actual fans and the rest just an assortment of indie and alternative types and disco/dance music clubbers

  • heh - yeah, like anyone standing at the front of any audience was 'moshing'
