  • My wife and I just came back from California on vacation. We went to George Barris's shop and he was there and the Munster's Koach was there and I had my picture taken standing beside it inside the shop. George said they just got it back from being restored. I didn't ask him if was the orig... He is a very nice man and I had my picture taken with him in front of the Batmobile too. Had a great time.

  • Like so many other kids back then, I built the model of The Coach and Drag-u-la. Thank you, George Barris! Now, for a time machine!

  • The Munsters is almost Impossible to Remake or Recast. The Origina lSeries was full of Fun Ethnic Streotypiing and 1960s Role Models adn Raw Edge Comedy. the People behind the Original Series's both in front of and behind the Cameras aren't around anymore. Besides, a New Show to be Believeably Spooky would have to be Filmed in Color, But without a Doubt Shown in Black and White to be Scary. to see Scary Characters act Hysterically was the Gag of the Original Munsters TV Show. Every kid Lvd it !

  • One of my favorite hot rods of all time.Beautiful car.

  • A lot of confusion over where the car actually is; sounds like an urban legend in the making :)

  • I buillt a model of that car when I was a kid. I also built the one that looked like a coffin. Sure wish I still had them.

  • @TheChuck624 Those kits are still available out there...check ebay...some are original and some reproductions. But they are there. Also, Ertle has diecast 1/18 scale avaialble.

  • @Durkie52 , nice, I'll check it out.

  • Correct me if I am wrong ,but a good while back when the Munster coach came through my city in Indiana the Reps showing the car said the baffles/heads on top the engine weren't really real just for show,is this true?By the way when they showed the car,the gal started it up inside our mall and busted out near half the store windows it was so loud !!

  • theres a few clones built.

  • I would love to own that car.

    Either that or the Batmobile.

    Now that would be cool.

    George Vreeland Hill

  • @APennyW NO it is NOT its still in VAN NYES California I saw it about 10 years ago and I know the person that owns it personally and have been offered it.. if I want it.. Rob Zombie has a replica. Please don't post wrong information.

  • @Seeburg1954R

The original Koach built by George Barris and used in the TV show is in England. George Barris owns, drives and show his 2nd Koach built which was built in the 80's. There are several other modern replicas out there. Please visit w w w munsterkoach (dot) c o m and post your past experience with the koach you saw, I'm sure we can figure out which replica that was.

  • @Seeburg1954R The original car from the series is in Cars of the Stars musium in England. It did tour the US some yrs ago but is indeed currently in England. A replica was built in the 80s by Barris and probably a few other replicas by unknown builders. The 2 Barris cars are the desirable ones and the replica by Barris is often called an original car but it wasn't in the series.

  • George Barris, What a talent and what an amaizing gig he had.

  • @Lehnerd57 Ummm....Fred died in 93 at the age of 67. He hardly died young.

  • (part2)..room,she forgot and when she started it up it shook the windows of nearby storefronts in the building and it cracked them all.....lol!!! It shows 8 exhausts on it ONLY 6 are working* is what she said."IT IS LOUD" -like having your head held next to a thrashing machine it's so loud.

  • I was always told it was a product of a guy named "Barris"....him and his company were the ones who made alot of the TV & THEATRE FILMS' Fancy,Funky and Quirky Show Cars.

I actually got to set in "The Munstermobile" when it came to our town for a car show a few years back.......the gal who drove it in/out of the show (continued)
