I had a late 90's model. By far the funnest boat you'll ever drive. It's fully submergible. I know this because of something I tried. To shift from forward to reverse you have to put the throttle in idle. I got the great idea to go as fast as it would go, about 60 mph, slam the throttle in idle, slam it in reverse, and slam it back to full throttle. It was like slamming on the brakes. After the wall of water came over the nose, I opened my eyes and you couldn't have poured a teaspoon of water i
driving hard with high revs will use fuel, but that's what you get when yo uwant performance! On the other hand, towing a ski tube for 6 hours - 1/4 tank, so depends on how you use it.
@adrianlacy yeah your right about the gas if you drive with lower revs its not very bad, but i do have to disagree with you about the swamping thing v v. mine swamps ALL the time. it only happens when going slow though, mostly through 5mph/no wake zones. i usually dont mind it though, the water feels good :)
Sorry - can't sign in on original account - handles waves extremely well - rarely swamped and usually due to super low speeds and 2 metre swell! goes airborne smoothly with the waves, bit rough against - plenty of fun!
Engine cleaning - hose out and spray inox lubricant all over it. Because its intercooled its only the exhaust needing flushing with a hose for around a minute.
Levels out with only one occupant.
Extremely smooth ride given the size, weight and speed.
Comparing to a GTI 130 ?? They are both Seadoo - that's about as far as a comparison can go !! Its a ski with 130hp, and NOT a boat - no storage by comparison, 1 less seat, no stereo, missing 125hp and supercharger! ... and I would guess slower!
On engine care - I have fitted a valve/cylinder/manifold lubrication system to mine - simply - it coats the engine internals with a fine mist of 2 stroke oil after use to prevent any moisture in the exhaust causing corrosion through the motor, which I'm told is inevitable with all engines cooled with water. It's simply a tube fitted to each of the 3 barb ports on the intake manifold (drilled out) then connected and fed into 2 stroke oil - run until smoke blows, quick rev, kill and recap tubes.
The intake/engine setup is the same as for a ski, but we have no seaweed issues around here, but I guess any jet intake would have issues in areas of high seaweed content.
@2009SeadooSpeedster The Speedster has a deep-V hull that gives it great stability in rough water. There is a Hydro-Surge weed guard to prevent the water intake from clogging. The guard is spring-loaded and if it gets clogged, weeds will pass through and be shredded by the big 7 impeller.
not sure what you are talking about - there is no spring loaded guard on these boats, and as it turns out I did end up clogging the intake with weed - didn't shred it - not a pleasant job to remove in the middle of a lake!

These are very dry boats when straight motoring on calm waters. Of course.... I did get a little wet on the video, but not much!
The engine is intercooled so no seawater enters it, only the exhaust .... I've had no debris problems.
Absolutely impossible to flip! I've had it (accidently!) over 1m in the air sideways over a wave and still as stable as! It can be 'thrown' into a hard turn at high speed no problem.
how many hours are on yours?

great video
i have a couple of questions bc im thinkin of getting this or a jet ski
1. is it dry?
2. does seaweed affect it the engine and performance
3. is it easy to flip it?
thanks
