The point Apple is making is that "Right Now" there isn't a flash player doing what we see in this video for all cellphones. This is again a "BETA" that is not yet available. The demo looks great and I wish this was on my iPhone but I can get it "Right Now". All of these demos have been on Nexus One's that haven't really sold that well compared to other Android phones. Show me this running on a Blackberry, Windows Mobile, WebOS, etc. This is why they announced its not ready for Windows Mobile 7.

@someonegetsteve I think the point is you might consider an alternitive web media player if you had a choice.. one that will kill your bat, one that won't.. hardware decoding h.264 makes more sense for video, does it not? A lot of flash vids ARE h.264 which is why some iphone workarounds work with some flash video.. After all this time, it hardly matters important sites have iphone mobile sites with h.264 vids. (except for soundcloud, which could just post mp3's and make everybody's life better)

The reason why Apple doesn't want flash compatibility in the iphone is because it would sway people away from the app store, it also opens up new vulnerabilities and threats, which apple doesn't want or has a need to deal with .

The reason why Apple doesn't want flash on the iPhone is because flash on a mobile device will deliver a poor web experience. Apple doesn't want choppy flash videos being played and having the battery drain on the iPhone. Apple cares about the experience.

Google doesn't care about the experience, they just care that they have flash on the mobile devices while other don't.

Engadget ran a benchmark and concluded that flash is faster then HTML 5 and utilizes only 3% more power in comparison to regular browsing.. Google??? you mean Adobe, Google is all for HTML 5, they ran a pacman game on their front page not too long ago promoting it.

You fail at knowing how computers work. Flash uses resources like any application. The reason a flash game would not drain your battery would be because it is a weak game. For instance, crysis vs asteroids. Anything that you can see on your device uses GPU, and any thing that runs as a program uses CPU.
