  • Ok, I'm 4' 11" and will not grow anymore. I'd give anything to be tall like this.

  • what is the statstics with people with this condtion?

  • R.I.P Sandy Allen your were a beautiful unique person.

  • My second cousin (I think, maybe 3rd? Not sure) is 7'2"...I don't think he has any signs of acromegaly, but from what I understand, he can't do a lot of physical activities for very long, and so basketball was out of the picture for him. I don't think his circulatory system responded well to his increase in height, so he gets winded easily. My first cousin is about 6'6" and has no such issue...I'm only 6'2", but knowing the potential for such huge size in my family worries me (future kids?)

  • LOL

  • My older bro is a victum of this condition, hes 9ft 10

  • @SpartanOfAmerica1234 No human has ever been 9 feet.

  • You see people over 7ft on the news and don't think it's much. But I saw Yao Ming at LAX last year. Holy shit.

  • okay this made me sick.

  • could this be neanderthal in the ancient time

  • i not have gigantism. my height is 5'5" and I am 4 years old, i am in 8 grade. my school say only I am smartest kid in the middle school.

  • @coolblitz1987 u mean 14, not 4. dont worry. i got ur back :)

  • there's a sophomore at my school with this. you don't realize how big 7'2 is until you see him. it's crazy.

  • i have gigantism and my height is 5'7" and a half and i'm only 16 years old and done growing. i hate gigantism. u have to see a lot of doctors and do a lot of testings.

  • @AlyssaBoleng How the hell is that gigantism... I'm 15 and 6'0''... My brother is 19 and 6'2''.

  • @shawnchi there is different types of gigantism and i am lucky that i wont die because most of the other types, u can die from it. well first off, i grew faster than my class in elementary school and when I was like 15 i stop growing. but gigantism wasnt a problem for me until i hit puberty. i hit puberty at a early age and started my period at 11. when i went to middle school, i started having problems with my gigantism because of the effects of puberty. i just been put on birth control.

  • @shawnchi so hopefully it will help. and now if u have any questions about it, feel free to ask me.

  • I suffer from gigantism. I am 7 foot 3. Sadly I am not doing well. My spine and knees cannot support the weight of my upper torso. They said I would not live past forty but wonder of wonders I passed forty!

  • interesting nice vid.

  • who names there giant kid Egor r they trying to make him feel like a monster or that is his nck name

btw if those giants rnt strong that must suck because if i were a strong giant i would destroy anyone on my path and be like gozilla

  • @Mrhamburgerable, they chose that name before they knew he was giant. Did your parents wait to see how big you were too name you? Andre the Giant looked like an average sized child, but overtime he grew. And Igor does'nt sound like a monster name to me anyways.

  • Does anyone know if Robert Pershing Wadlow suffered from this condition, or was it a different kind of growth defect ? He didn't appear to have the same skull malformation etc, going by what I've seen of him in documentaries. This kind of thing isn't something one would wish on a person but maybe if George Bush Jr. had had a child who suffered in this appalling way he may have seen stem cell research in an entirely different light.

  • uneducated fucks who find this something to have a giggle at pathetic low lifes!!!

  • I WANT THE CONDITION! i want to be a giant please

  • @stupidandnogood me too that would be so cool

  • @stupidandnogood no u dont. i have gigantism and it sucks. u have to see a lot of doctors and do a lot of testing.

  • I also have this ugly rare disease, I understand. I'm living it too.

  • My male relative is 6' 7" and he has two boys who are already 5'10" at almost 15 years old. Now my male relative Has peripheral neuropathy and fallen arches due to the peripheral neuropathy in his feet. He also has a heart murmur.

  • @4SCARECROWS I am 25 Years old, 6'4" with flat feet, and i don't have the disease. I'm thinking your male relative is free of the disease as well. Is he still growing? Heart murmur can be caused by other means.

  • my doctor thinks i have this im 6ft3 and 12 if you dont beleve me look at my vids

  • i have gigantism, i come from a small family, no one in my family is over 5ft6 and im 6ft3 at 16 and i grow 3 inches a month but im going to get it fixed when i reach 7feet because i would like to be 7 feet tall

  • i am 15 yrs old and i'm 6ft tall is that normal or do i suffer the same fate like them :-( i'm getting worried

  • @agrias09 could be normal-I was 6ft at 15 now at 52 i'm 6ft 1 and 1/2 inches your growth should slow down but continue untill you are 20 ish.

  • audio is messed up

  • awe he looks like a big teddy bear !

  • rip sandy

  • some of u ppl who say u have it, dont.

so go eat a cock sandwhich

  • i liked

  • i wish i had that disorder

  • do they die im like aroung 7 f 9 which is very tall i think i had a pituitary gland or somin or hypertrophy, hyperplasia.

  • 3:56 WOW that surely puts in perspective how tall Igor is. The man standing next to Igor probably isn't very tall to begin with bu the way Igor dwarfs him is pretty impressive. Igor would still be towered over by Sultan Kosen and Zhang Juncai both of whom are legitimately over 8 feet tall. And EVERY human in existence would be towered over by Robert Wadlow.

  • pisses me off seing all these people talking shit on here! i have their condition! luckily tho im only 6 ft 8 atm not 8 foot or wotever lol. i am self concious about my height and my jaw but hopefully its all going to be sorted soon. dont talk about our pussy or cock lol talk about how life is worth living here and now or summat cos people with my condition dont have a reputation for living to a ripe olf age!

  • wow her vagina must be huge!

  • why the fuck would you say that?! i have this ok. so if u want to make fucking immature jokes then go do it somewere else. grow up >.>

  • Apparently it is bigger than King Dongs.

  • Features of acromegaly include large hands, feet, macroglossia, organomegaly and prognathism.

    A feature is hypercalciuria.

Compression of the optic chiasm may produce a bitemporal hemianopia.

Proximal myopathy can occur as well as diabetes mellitus, glucose intolerance and hypertension.

The diagnosis is made on the basis of non-suppression of growth hormone concentrations with the oral glucose tolerance test.

  • Fcuk. I'm so happy that I'm normal. I just wish these guys look at the positve side of life.

  • This vid pretty explains every reason why insanely tall giants tend to not succeed in basketball as much most would expect.

  • @supersmash43

    tell that to shaquile o'neil.

  • @BeniXBass O'Neil isn't that tall compared to some giants, but he is of course very tall compared to average mortals!

  • @supersmash43 What I find odd is how many of those giants become pro-wrestlers. Andre the Giant immediately springs to mind, but Giant Gonzalez from Argentina, The Great Khali from India, and The Big Show from, well, Florida all have Acromegaly. Pro-Wrestling is a very demanding sport (athletically speaking), and constant travel while working in the WWF/WWE must have made it nearly impossible to keep their bodies healthy.

  • That is because we tend to get short of breath pretty easily. I get winded simply walking down the street. Also my back and knees are bad due to the weight of my bones making walking even more tiresome. I want to grow old but I know my days are numbered.

  • Only got it in my cock

  • Comment removed

  • Great for health care instructors to utilize in the class room.

  • 5:05 OMFG SO FUNNY VOCE

  • omfg learn to spell

  • It IS possible to be 7'+ without giganticism or a pituitary disorder, just being naturally tall.

  • Yes it is. Take Yao Ming and Shaq for example. Both of whom are 7'6" and 7'1".

  • @youvebeenthunderstru yes it is possilbe, yao ming is one

  • Incredible!!! 5 Stars!!!!

  • Excellent presentation!!!

  • Thanks for the upload its been very intresting

  • Excellent work. Thank-You for this information.

  • I am assuming he had decreased insulin sensitivity and, possibly had diabetes...

  • what you think that is it!!! you need to do some research big time, hense why i have put the acromeglay awareness video as a video reply, so anyone who thinks they may have acromegaly which is the correct terminology for giantism also, these are not just the only symptoms. there are many more. the way you are acting towards this may scare the crap out of people! it is very treatable and many things can be done. please stop scaring people its not a nice thing to do.

  • Im just trying to make people aware, and i know the signs i mentioned arent the only ones.

Also i know that acromegaly and gigantism are easily treated, which is why people should get is sorted out asap.

  • sorted out?? what do you mean by sorted out?

  • treated

  • thats ok then...lol i think we both agree on bringing awareness out! thats why i have the acro vid, giantism is acromegaly, dont mean that to sound nasty by the way, its just the way that people refer to the tallness as giants. its a bit harsh for people living thier life to be known as a giant. why are you so keen to make people aware, hope you dont mind me asking.

  • ok well acromegaly is something accoiated with adults after the growth plates are fused, and gigantism is the opposite, this takes place in people who's growth plates are still open, which obviusly makes them growth abnormally tall.

The reason i am so keen to make people aware is because people with acromegaly or gigantism may be unaware of the tumor for many years and by then the damage could of already have been done.

  • All those who think they might or a freind or loved one has this tumor, they must send them for a blood test, this will see if there is any abnormal Growth hormone levels.

If so, you will need to send them for a brain scan.

  • I urge all who think they might have this tumor to look for the obvious signs such as a longer jaw, forehead which may become more prominent, larger hands (width), which will increase ring size, so if you find yourself needing a new wedding ring... also the teeth may become spaced, and the last sign i can think of is excessive sweating.

  • great vid, my response vid is just to promote awareness for acromegaly.

  • Hello,

I was just wondering where someone might get help for this condition. I have a son that I think has this and can't get help from doctors in this area. He is 7ft tall and 17 years old and he is having some problems associated with it.

    Thanks

  • what, you think he has a tumor? if you do then you must take him to your docter straight away, if the tumor isnt removed he could go blind and also increase the chance of heart failure.

Does he have chubby like hands, and a long jaw? if so that could be a sign of a tumor.

  • I am trying to get him to the doctor asap. Its just hard trying to find the right doctor here. He has a general practice doctor but he is slow as hell getting anything done.

  • Well you need to make an appoinment with your doctor asap, because the longer you leave it, the worse it gets because the tumor will continue to grow.

So when you see your doctor, you should express your concerns and also ask for a blood test to be carried out on your son to measure the growth hormone levels in his blood, if the growth hormone levels are abnormally high, this could be the sign of a tumor, your doctor will decide what to do next, and may send your son for a MRI scan.

  • also an igf1 blood test, it basically counts the insulin growth factor.

there can be a glucose blood test also that counts both together over a period of time, approx 2 hrs. with taking blood every half hour. if blood sugar doesnt decrease then they will know for definate for diagnosis. dont be too worried about the tumour its only a small size of cases where the tumor is very big and more symptoms arise.

  • ah yes igf-1 which is produced by the liver plays a vital role in growth and development, and yes like you said, tumor's which have grown to a large size are very rare, well as long as the person's descoverd it in time.

  • i think with a constant pounding headache, tunnel vision, dizziness and a few others someone would think to do an mri scan :) and no that would not be too late. with treatments now most symptoms of acromegaly can be reversed, even muscle tissue is seen to decrease in size. which is brilliant.

  • yes your right, and thanks for that pm, I didnt know you were talking from experiance, im sorry to hear that.

May i ask if you have grown taller from this condition, i was thinking that it wouldnt be possible after the growth plates are fused, although some people have grown.

  • i would say i think i grow about an inch a year still and im 25..lol beats being small still. i was 5 ft 6 and now im 5 ft 8 well i would have to ask to be have my height checked again to be more on the spot with that one. but defiately still growingeven if it is in small amounts. i think its because ive had it before i stopped growing, well should have stopped growing. but docs didnt see it for over 10 years.

  • thanks for the reply, It makes me wonder though how many people may have acromegaly and not even know it, i still can't beilive your doctors didnt see your tumor for over ten years.

  • yeah some people may get to thier 40's etc. especially with acromeagly. you just dont know. a tumour is sneaky as its not visible to the eye. but it being non cancerous doesnt mean its ok. some ppl think that. and it makes me sick. with so many symptoms how can it be any more easier? there is still radiation, operations etc etc.

  • not at all true! i have not had my tumor removed and i am not blind. it all depends yes on the size but also treatment, some drugs help shrink the tumour like somatuline autogel injections. and just because you have symptoms like this does not mean you have a big tumour. i have a lot of symptoms and my tumour is very small indeed. and you DONT NEED A DCOCTOR YOU NEED AN ENDOCRINOLOGIST!!!

  • yes, but i was talking about those with tumors who havent seen a specialist yet, because like you said the tumor will grow and that will cause one to go blind because the optic nerve is located right above the pituitary gland.

Other health problems can arise such as increasd organ size i.e. larger heart, which increases the chance of a heart attack significantly.

  • this video freaks me out

  • man fuck you!

  • You are a very cruel person. I guess you know this or else you would have never said what you did. I feel sorry for people with such low self esteem that they have to make fun of others to make themselves feel better.

  • agreed blueydbttrfli038

i have acromegaly and to see this is so saddening for me. if it freaks you out how the hell do you think that person feels!! its a ver scary condition to have!

  • I believe my son has this condition and it is very hard for him to go anywhere without people staring at him. He is very self conscious about it and it makes him feel terrible. It doesn't help when people make foul comments on top of it.

  • I wish I had a dollar for every time we went out and someone asks him how tall he is and how old he is.

  • that woman is scary

  • 0:02 hah him dunking w/o jumping lol...

  • that's phucked!! and fascinating at the same time.

  • DOES THAT MAN LOOK WEAK TO YOU!

  • lol, won't even think to have a fight with him :p

  • very informative video...fantastic!

  • I'm 6'10" and 15, doctors say I'll reach 7'3" and I sure hope I don't have gigantism, I did take a ct scan and they found nothing(phew) but I still seem to have some of those things. My mom and dad and pretty tall though(6'0" and 6'3") so I think it's natural, but it's still good to get as much information as I can thanks so much for the vid KeithOlbermannn!

  • No probs, good thing you don't have any tumors. I think yours is the Familial Tall Syndrome. Your body should be proportional, you probably are just slight more sensitive to growth hormone that the average human thats it.

  • ya I think it's mainly genetics cause my bro is 6'8"(a year older tho) and were both proportional to, thanks for the re-assurance =)

  • @KeithOlbermannn So is it possible to grow and not have thick bones and have disabilities, I saw the movie avatar and the aliens were 9 to 10 ft tall and were able to walk like normal humans, I always wandered is it possible to grow 10 ft tall, with no disabilities-human evolution, I have always dream to be 10 ft. tall

  • @hclfa4 well bunches of giant bones were found in the rockies. plus many native americans told me about the giant tribes that lived in caves (they were killed off). so its possible

  • @Vrishchii could be sasquatchs XD

  • I am 5ft"10 AND Three Quarters almost 5ft 11in

     pushing over to 6ft

  • Comment removed

  • Yeah, I'm 4'10".

  • that's pretty short...

  • how tall is your dad

  • @infertagul youre so lucky. its been a year since you posted this so youre probably somewhere around 10ft lucky

  • @infertagul hay therrrrres a kid in school thats 6ft10 and 15 years old. just a year ago he was my height 6ft3 and he looks deathly skinny so he will probably grow taller. but me im 16 years old and weigh 195 pounds and my metabolism has slowed down a lot so i think im done growing. it takes more growth hormone for a big person to grow so i think by being overweight or having too much muscle youre stunting your grrowth

  • @infertagul

I know your comment here is 2 years past, but did you grow more since than? I know somebody who was 6'2" at the age of 10, was predicted to reach 7'0" having fully open plates but today he is 21 and still 6'2".

  • This is something i can relate to. At age

13, I stood about 6'2. Wich aint bad, but I come from a family of short people. I stand nearly 6-12 inches taller then most people in my family. Now i stand at around 6'5.

  • Same thing here, was around 5'11 at age 12,

6'2 at 13, and now (at age 17) standing at the same height as you.

  • yeah he's great he can dunk just be standing there lol!

  • thanks...this was fascinating.

  • yeah it is i use to know a friend who's 7,3-7,4" but he does not have gigantism and is just naturally that tall...

  • Thank you this giants videos. I study :)

  • No problem

  • @hipofizis does giant has problem health?
