  • Is a good guitarist, but does not innovate at all. It has a great attachment to everything that has been done by great players, so while remaining attached to the style and way of playing which was the formula of success will be nothing less than a well made copy.

  • @djansouzapereira ok, where, or who, have you heard do the lick philip does at 4:16 to 4:20? I've never heard or seen anyone do that, EVER. That's called innovating. Also, every player who we've ever considered great has been heavily influenced by other players. plain and simple. you can't be influential without having been properly influenced.

  • I think jimi Hendrix is like the GOD of the guitar but phil sayce is getting very close, fantastic player with great feeling

  • 0.51 and 3.00 really reminds me of steve stifler in american pie

  • attack of the killer shirt

  • remothly smels srv

  • @solitarioblues Yeah because he uses the pentatonic scales to solo with. Other then that where is the SRV? Hendrix, sure, his songwriting is very, very influenced by Hendrix, soloing too. But SRV? Really? Stevie was a pure bluesman doing I,IV,V's almost exclusively (with the Riviera Paradise and Lenny exceptions) Philip is doing pretty non-standard chord progressions and songwriting here. Your comment reeks of ignorance. "Influences" people, not copycats. Not at all.

  • @antony5linteau don't compare. just love and accept. theres trend. and theres guitar playing. john mayer wants to do both. this guys about the guitar playing. it doesnt make john mayer any less of a player. it just makes him more aware of connecting his passion with mainstream audiences,,,which in a way shows his skill to produce blues with pop. its all personal preference. blues is a feeling some choose to take up in playing and some make it. this guy and john mayer r paving 4 da next generatn.

  • @BondsMusic great great comment (so great im actually commenting on your comment), it's EXACTLY how i see it!

  • Who's better, him or John Mayer ?

  • @antony5linteau Mayer is better...simply for the fact that he banged Jennifer Love Hewitt in the ass.

  • @six2112 hahahah made my day ,

  • It's been done...

  • please get jeff beck and plilip together man could you hear it, I can. what emotion they could pull out of an audience..

  • Philip Sayce is what John Mayer would sound like if he wasn't a pansy.

  • @inflames2121

philip sayce is a pansy too

  • @lowedt at least he doesnt sound like he was kicked in the vagina; unlike john mayer.

  • Saw him yesterday ... SRV + Jimi style = great.

didn't know him untill he blew me off my socks yesterday :)

  • most authentic Hendrix playing i've heard since Hendrix :)

  • fuckin nice work

  • His sound resembles SRV in some parts

From 7;12- its like a tribute:)

  • His sound resembles SRV in some parts

  • i guess there is an after market for robin trower / srv types

  • Whos that trying to play like jimi ?

  • @aucun007 and he does the job very welll

  • Fooking incredible, where has this guy been hiding , on the strenghth of this just purchased his peace machine album and booked tickets for rock city Nottingham, can't wait, ain't been this excited sinec SRV burst on the scene.

  • His Strat is in so horrible condition!

    Makes my Strat look good!

He is the best blues player anyways!

  • Yea its a little worn lol but ive got to play on it before and its the best guitar ive ever laid my hands on..an original 62 that neck is freaking sweet huge frets makes it a dream to play its smooth! The only part hurtn is the body above pickups where he has dug a hole from his pick. Its rough cause hes been playing the hell out of it but its in really good condition for being a 62 & taking a beatn by philip over years. It looked almost new when he bought it while with Jeff Healey. The

    best!

  • Old strats in horrible condition are so sexy :O

  • @AlexisGuitar94 Absofuckinglutely!!

But the price is not sexy at all:)

  • I would like to see him and John Mayer on the same stage playing SRV's stuff

  • @AlexisGuitar94

I wouldn't for Mayer's sake, poor guy would get blown off the stage

  • @PoposNewGuitarChan Agree with that! Would NOT be pretty...

  • I'm going to see him May at The Robin in Bilston, UK. I saw him play with Jeff Healey years back and he kinda held back but then I bought his Peace machine album- absolutely phenominal! Not since I first heard Hendrix as a kid that a guitar solo made me jump around the room!! Thanks for the upload Squint666!

    for me aldo... :-))) *****

    Kurt...

  • Hendrix is alive...

  • I'm reminded of Trower more than Jimi

  • @hihats

That would probably be because of the heavy use of the Univibe on this tune. Understandable.
