I was cringing all the way through the video because I saw the top line of the description :P. My peg came off of my first bike the 2005 CBR. Luckily I got a 2nd hand one, it was £70 for a brand new one. I have a nice CBX 750FE now and tbh the older the bike the better. I can't believe how close the brake part was though!
What terrible riding. Staying in the outside lane behind an equally selfish white van man. Rushing around in dense traffic. Talking on the phone while riding. A typical courier giving motor cyclists a bad name.
@wintonian Don't be such a dribbly dick, spunk knuckled, remroid bastard features. When you were at school your teacher said to you "Don't pick your bum and eat it, that's dirty."
@wintonian I'm guessing you're one of those who'd prefer to not get the blood you need after an accident then... Because we all know a life can just wait can't it.. Tosser.
@Madstu, Fairplay I think your reaction to lack of brakes was impressive! Nice one :)
That bike looks like a piece of shit. Sorry. I do appreciate bikes just that one right there looks like its had its day. Have you ever considered getting a two-stroke :)
@Caluma122 LOL, Courier work does take it's toll on bikes. Everything ages 5 or 10 times faster in this job. And I'd been using this bike for about 2.5 years, so it lasted quite well ;) She's retired now :)
@Caluma122 Hes a courier. Obviously the bike is not going to be gleaming. And what makes you think its "had its day" that bike will outlast most cars and will quite happily go on 150-200,000 miles. Also why would anyone want a two stroke for couriering? Two strokes are toys, you try sitting on the motorway at 90mph, 800 miles across the country and see your two stroke fall apart.
@arbit3r I haven't really seen much of his videos. I find it very hard to believe that that bike will last over 150'000 miles. But if its built to last and its purpose is for general everyday useage then i'm not one to complain. I was joking about the two stroke. Two strokes ARE toys in a sense. They're high maintanance machines but i dunno i think if geared properly and well looked after then it would happily do 90 mph for 800 miles but considering thats illegal in my country it makess no odds.
@arbit3r Yeah right!! Ok define by last? The engine would need an overhaul way before that. So if you were to constantly overhaul everything then yeah any bike would last that long.
@Caluma122 No it wont. Just regular servicing. The famous honda cx 500 that did 1,000,000 miles did have huge amounts of work done, granted, but i think it reached 150,000 miles before anything major was replaced. I think there is also a Harley Davidson that reached 1,000,000 miles as well. As i said, anyone who knows about bikes will know how good the bmw K series are, aswell as other big tourers. I also have a triumph with close to 100k miles (No engine work). Don't judge a book by its cover.
@arbit3r Yeah but my orignal point was suppose to be that two strokes are faster and therefore making journeys shorter. And piston changes on two strokes are maintanence so either way regular servicing of a two stroke would do a lot of miles.
Maybe you're YT name should be Daft_Stu for riding like that. I mean tearing along on the expressway with no brakes and a mirror flying off. But, glad you made it! thru the day. Hit the gym and work on deadlifts of, say, 200 pounds or so.
Like the way the doctor dude goes back into the surgery and leaves you to it (I'm a doctor not a mechanic, Jim). Excellent save on the wing mirror while you were riding btw, very casual. Glad you survived the day.
Jeez dude, that looked like an expensive day. I hope thats all your bad luck done and dusted, Don't want to read anything on here or on twitter about you going splat!
I defo wasnt expecting the brakes to fail, i could just feel myself droppin down the gears nd then shit shitt shiittt....phew....damn lucky dude lol....nd i reckon its time 4 a newer bike lol...more nd more shit will keep goin wrong 4rm now on with an older bike!!
jeeeeeeeeeeesus stu! you poor sod! i've been wanting more videos from the guys i subscribe to but dude, thats a very bad day.. hope you had a few beers when you got home.
@birdman404 not too much, got some news pegs off ebay for £15, new master brake cylinder costs £150 though and needs replacing. The centre just needs a new bolt (I hope) and tyre needs replacing soon anyway. Oh and the mirror has been gaffa taped back on already ;)
your bike's conspiring to kill you. this one is falling apart and meeeeeelting!!! :O Nice save, even the mike wasn't cooperating! :p talk about a bad day!!!
Ouch @ beginning - thats why i always start my bike with the clutch and front brake pulled in! (not trying to be patronizing) *waits for brake failure section*.....and there it is.... damn you're lucky, i love the pop on wing mirrors though ahahah
@ProbabilityWave0 Oh, it wasn't in gear or anything, I should have been clearer, the centre stand broke on one side. As I pushed the bike off the stand, it went down on the side that had broke, nothing I can do, not gonna stop a 320KG bike, lol
ahh it sounded like you started it as well - i assumed it had fallen off the stand and was in contact with the road, bad luck mate :( at least one stranger decided watching you try to lift it was too painful and offered to help
How many times has that right mirror fallen off on you?

Time for a new bike I think.
And lol, your reactions were pretty good. Reckon i'd have hit that van if i'd been in the same situation.

@Caluma122 Do some research on BMW K series, you will see how long they last. There is a cx 500 in london that did 1,000,000 miles.
