  • Great video: long trigger pull, is the only valid compliant I find still floating around. However, the "longer trigger pull BS is usually someone who has never shot it and doesn't understand human psychology. I work in the "bay" aka a trauma center. The majority of people who come in KIA are those shot by revolvers. Not everyone is packing a 44 or 357. It is simply because fear sets in, u panic. SA is great for those who are trained but citizens freak out and can't aim worth a damn. DA/SA same

  • @faksen13 Thanks for the advice, but the M&P has no external hammer, so that is not an option. I have carried the gun now for a bit and have gained confidence in it. I'm not really worried about it AD'ing. My holster covers the trigger well and the gun sits in it securely. I think a lot of the stress is just the newness of carrying. That being said...I'm still looking for excuses to give my wife for getting another carry gun! :-)

  • Sig P250 was choosen as service gun for Air marshals and Dutch Police. But both have rejected the gun due to quality issues on production guns.

  • I GOT ONE OF THESE TODAY AS MY FIRST SIG. MY HEART SANK WHEN WATCHING YOUR VIDEO, ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU MENTIONED THE PRICE DROP TO 399 AS A MEANS TO CLEAR OUT BAD STOCK. I COMPARED MY MODEL TO YOUR ILLUSTRATION, AND I HAVE A BRAND NEW UPDATED MODEL AND PAID $400 FOR IT. THANK YOU FOR YOUR VIDEO, YOU MADE MY DAY

  • @TheGunnut87 These make great first guns...or third, or forth, and so on. They are easily one of the best buys inthe gun world.

  • what was the issues with the original p250?

  • What holster do you use to carry this weapon? I'm having a hard time finding one.

  • NY makes you write the serial # on the license, that actually makes it easier for a cop to check if it's legal

  • Do these have any sort of slidelock or trigger safety? I have a S&W M&P and it has no safety. I'm reserved in carrying it with a round chambered due to this. Any opinons about that?

  • @guitardavepdx They do not. They are DAO so they need no safety. As for the S&W, carry it with a round in the chamber and keep your finger off the trigger.

  • @guitardavepdx When you holster the gun, keep your thumb on the hammer = you will imidiatly feel if anything interacts with your trigger (toggel, drawcord). When hammer is down , no spring in firing mekanism is loaded = gun cant go off. There is a firing pin safety if the gun gets droppet.

  • One thing you didn't mention, is that if you buy the "medium" caliber P250 (say a 9mm) you can also buy any barrel / slide combo in .357 or .40 and they will fit the frame, giving you three calibers from one pistol. The .45 on the other hand will only fit the .45. Great video, i've had a 2Sum in .40 on layaway for a month or two, can't wait to get it payed off. Keep up the great work.

  • Do you have any experience with the SP2022? Whereas the P250 seems like a big departure from the Classic series, the Sig Pros seem to be be a cross between the two.

  • Does the .40 magazines hold the .357 sig as well and be able to shoot the .357 sig with the .357 barrel too in the subcompact?

  • @22640cal Mags made for .357sig will also hold .40S&W and vice versa.

  • I have 2 P250 COMPACT'S and they are awesome guns night sights as well. I take them out to the desert and destroy everything. Nice video and well played!

  • I just picked up a compact sig250 this weekend, It has the flat spring, the date on the case is dec 13 2011, I orderd the 357 kit, I wonder what spring that will come with?, also, I paid $ 434 tax included, at cabela's, It does not however have the night sights, just the white dots, the 357 is supposed to have the glow sites.

Seems to be a quality piece , I will go shooting one my other barrel/side show up.

  • I love my Sig P250. The only thing i dislike about it is the plastic guide rod

  • Don't forget the ambidextrous slide release/lock. Not many manufacturers do that. To a lefty that's a huge feature. My list of potential new guns just got VERY short. Thanks for the video.

  • The regular compact has flat springs as well, I think all the newer models are being made with these springs. Thank you for your video.

  • Love my Sig P250 , 21 years in the Army, DI,Airborne, I'll take My Sig.

  • wow one of the best reviews ive seen very good review. sig should hire you!

  • Great video very informative just picked one up on Saturday haven't tested it out yet but now looking forward to it more than ever now..

  • They should keep making them long term. Several foreign Govts have adopted them as well as US air marshals (in .357 sig of all things)

  • @ Americanmade72...how much were they asking for the used p250? I just picked up a new one from my dealer for $400 even.

  • Are the magazines interchangeable? I just put a deposit on a P250 subcompact YESTERDAY!!! I put the deposit because it is used and at an incredibly low price. I didn't want to wait to get the money and then find out they sold it. I swear, $200 below new price!

  • im so sick of these god damn safety checks in these gun videos its retraded!!! the one make the video knows if the damn thing is loaded or not im shure he did multiple safety checks before he hit the record button and if it was loaded and it did go off, you fuck stick safety sally mother fuckers sitting behind the monitor will not get shot! i promise you, you wont for fuck sakes!! im all about gun safety but these safety checks on you tube at the begging of these videos is horse shit!

  • @dagofromchicago there's a reason for the checks dude. Kids watch these videos and emulate (that means copy) what we do on screen.

  • I just might get one. There's a gun show in town and their offer is $540 for the Pistol, the box, two extra mags, and 100 rounds of .45ACP.

  • I love my Sig P250...I got in 9mm compact and decided to go ahead and buy the upper conversion to .40 SW and even picked up a .357 Sig barrel. Love the way it fits in the hand and how it feels.

P.S. Everyone has their own way to clear a weapon...for me...I always drop the magazine first before checking the slide and chamber. :0)

  • @johnabergsing I carried it in a Galco Stow-N-Go holster. I never buy kydex so I am not familiar with what is out there.

  • @TheYankeeMarshal

He does not like holster wear! Kydex is a no go lol

  • Great video! I got bought the 40 s&w with a 357 sig barrel. Are you planning on putting out a video of how to fully clean the pistol? Because that would be great also can you tell me what the small (I guess I will call it a button) next to the hammer does? Can you pull the firing pin out with that some how to clean it? Thank you and any help would be great from anyone.

  • I own a p250 9mm compact produced in 12/2010 and is definitely the newer version with flat accessory rail but came with the flat recoil spring. Love the gun, ergonomics and performance but I've found ,at least in my gun, that it's rather temperamental when it comes to ammo, loves Winchester,American Eagle,Federal but I have 200+ rounds of Lellier & Bellot fmj 124 grain that the gun experiences a FTE every 4 rounds on all of my 4 mags.

  • @134moko if you feel its and issue for you, just contact sig and they should be able to sort it out. could be the recoil spring or like you said, your gun. hope your problems get fixed.

  • FWIW, I just bought a P250 (Full-Size, 9mm) that has a coiled spring.

I'll chime in - Great gun. I only paid $359. I think it's more accurate than my P226, and that's saying a lot.

  • I hope to get this as soon as I get my CCW. 9mm isn't my first choice, but I like the round count and the size of the subcompact model.

  • I have the newer version P250 45compact.shot about 30 rounds thru it. Lookin to trade it for a gen 4 g23 or 27 anybody interested give me a hollar!!!

  • Very nice! I am thinking of getting one of these!! Great vid!

  • I just bought a full sized P250 and they are using a coiled spring as well as the compact model

  • So, my frame is definitely newer. How can you tell when it was made?

  • @billyboy647 it should say the date right on the case.

  • Great video. I recently bought a p250 9 mil. The frame is definitely the newer model. But my spring is the older style, like your newer sub-compact. What's up with that? I've run 100 rounds through it and one jam because the round didn't eject adequately. So far it has performed perfectly. I order the optional trigger, better suited for people with small hands.Trigger pull is smooth, but I'm still not used to it. My double action Sig p226 Elite gives me lights out results-but too big to carry.

  • Im glad you made this video I just bought a Gen 2 p250 compact in 40 cal and I just shot 50 rounds of Aluminum Cased blazer ammo right after buying it and it went through it with no hiccups. And I trust the DAO more than I do on my Glock 19 although I cant shoot as fast as the glock it is considerably more accurate than My g19 with a 30yd 2inch group from a rest and indexing this gun is far better than the glock so I will be trading the glock in and ordering the full size 45 kit

  • @Holdenv16148 I have never seen tell of a real life scenario in the civilian world where rapid fire was a deciding element in a case of SD using a firearm. I doubt a slightly slower firing pattern will hurt you at all.

  • @TheYankeeMarshal Oh I totally agree I am really starting to like it now after 150 rds and dry fire practice. It takes me back to basic pistol shooting and not just relying on a "good enough" sight picture and bumping off the trigger reset.

  • Great video, very informative. I am a new gun owner (waiting on background check). But I purchased a used compact 9mm and paid way too much $600, so I'll see about cancelling it since I haven't picked it up yet. But good to know there is a new and older version, I believe mines is newer version. Any recommendations were to buy online from???

  • great video, great review....the best one so far! Keep 'em coming.

Before I forget, I love this gun too. The best gun I've owned: simplicity, accuracy and reliability; and for the price, can't be beat.

  • @male2205 Thanks for the compliment. I just thought this gun was a bit underrated after shooting it.

  • if you have bought your gun recently, even used, then sig would have fixed any problems with the FCU. as far as the old grip or new grip thats all it is, a grip, there is no firing problem with it. and if u have any problems call sig customer service and they will be glad to fix it for you. i have had my p250 for almost 3 months and about 1200 rounds through it.. not 1 misfire, FTE, or FTF. granted some flaws in the beginning but what new product doesnt have bugs to work out?

  • Great P250 video. Never understood the modularity until now, thanks.

    I'm considering a used P250 45ACP for $400, new model.

  • @danfive555 SIG does such a poor job of promoting the modular aspcect of these guns. I have not shot a .45acp version yet, but I imagine it is every bit as good as the .40s&w version. :)

  • Great video. I just recently picked up a p250 and love.

  • @IStillBlaze none so far. As of today range test both models have been flawless.

  • I see many P250 sold with only one frame. How much are the frames?

  • @frankgon4 Last time I checked they were under $50

  • @TheYankeeMarshal

That is strange, because to purchase a kit of Large and subcompact frame is $900 plus

  • @frankgon4 I do not know who gave you that information, but it is wrong. You can buy the entire slide/barrel assembly for around $280. The frame alone is only $45 directly from SIG's website on all sizes.

  • @TheYankeeMarshal Sig Sauer MSRP is $450 for the gun by itself and $750 for the gun and an extra frame (see "P250 2 Sum") on Sig website. This means the frame is MSRP $350.

I see this Kit selling for $900 other sites.

  • @frankgon4 Are you being deliberately pig-headed? The frames are $45 right on SIG's website. The barrel and slide caliber setups are $285. Once you have the central assembly you can build any size and caliber around it for $330 directly from SIG at full retail.

PS: the 2 sum does not just have an extra frame. It has an extra frame, slide, barrel, magazine, etc...and no matter what you see someone trying to charge for it, the MSRP is $758 ($815 with two sets of night sights).

  • Thanks for this video. I shied away from the P250 because of all the issues with light strike and magazine issues. I am on the official Sig fan page on facebook and Sig moderators didn't even mention that the P250 was improved. I wish they had a system where they would have call it p251 or whatever, so I know if the gun store has the newest version before I drive over there. I am pretty sure this in .40 S&W will be my next hand gun.

  • @4Tcal I love mine. I assume you are going to get the compact model. Let us know what spring yours has in it if you get it.

  • Also, is regards to what you were talking about with the coiled spring, thats where I got really confused because I just saw a video of someone with my same model (older one) and it still has the coiled spring. Mine has the flat spring, the one in the video was a .40 and mine is a 9mm, could that be the difference?

  • Really glad I found this video. So I'm a little freaked out because I just bought a p250 9mm compact and I'm pretty sure I got the older model. The logo and the rails are a dead give away. I haven't been able to shoot it yet but I heard so many bad things about the older model I'm afraid this will be a $400 + waste of money. I'm surprised my gun shop still sells em instead of the newer models. Any advice?

  • How is the Recoil? Please tell

  • @ZenPotion As a general rule, SIG pistols seem to handle recoil better than any other gun on the market. The P250 is no exception.

  • OMG I'm so glad I cought this posting man. Thank you so much. Your point about having different guns with one serial number in states that are bitchy about how much guns you own is great. I live in NY and i'm about to apply for my permit and this would be great. I wonder how would this gun do for IDPA competition. I goined the IDPA and plan to compete. I had my eye sent on the Taurus PT 24/7 G2.

  • "Underated & Poorly Marketed": I couldn't agree more. I own a 250C in 9mm. Its currently on nightstand duty on the wife's side & it gets more range use than any of my other pistols, so it's definitely a reliable gun. If Sig would have agressively marketed this gun to new/1st time gun owners, I think it would have been a true success.

  • @TheGunfighter45acp I agree. SIG just does not seem to care. Which is a shame because this really is a great gun even without the modular gimmick.

  • Great, great review.

Thank you for saying what really needed to be said about an awesome firearm. I love my SIG Sauer P250, infact I have the exact same two tone compact .40 cal.

My P250 was also made in Nov 2009.

A major issue for the P250 is the gun shops have people that have made up their mind about it. I had several clerks at the store I purchased mine from try to get me to buy any other pistol, but the P250.

Luckily I did months of research before making my purchase.

  • @RyuSuave Thanks for the comments. I just decided to make this video because so many people were so misinformed about tis gun and the ones i have are so very good. I would hate people to miss out on a great gun because of rumors they hear on the internet.
