  • games used to be good like this....wtf happened. now you got shitty overhyped games with no storyline or substance like skyrim that makes you do shitty repetitive fetch quests and grind dungeons for no reason

  • @VanMedia I hope people would stop comparing games that are in whole different genres. It's not like games with storyline in mind aren't developed today.

  • @SinfulOcelot different genres? they are both rpgs. imo, elder scrolls is a really mindless hack and slash action game with some rpg elements. but people keep insisting it's full rpg with some action elements. if they keep insisting that, then i'm going to treat it like an rpg game and compare it to real rpg games.

w/ever man, i don't care what you think.

  • @VanMedia Japanese RPGs and Western RPGs are different genres. I don't know any Western developer that has ever tried making Japanese RPG. Western developers usually put storyline behind other elements such as gameplay/entertainment value. There are exceptions though and I can tell plenty of JRPGs that were released in 5 year radius and have great storylines.

  • @SinfulOcelot That's right. Japanese RPG it's going down nowadays. Final Fantasy, the great saga it's a bunch of shit since FF XIII. Suikoden is my last hope.

  • its been over 10 years since I played this game, it still feels like yesterday.

  • In my opinion, this is the total package and is the best game ever created. Amazing music, character depth, almost limitless party possibilities, awesome story, openness, and it had secrets to look for. This didn't just do everything you want from an RPG, it is absolutely amazing at EVERYTHING. There is no downside to this game whatsoever, even by today's standards. If you haven't played it, GET IT NOW!

  • I remember staying on the map, i did not want this song to end :)

  • @chronosousa totaly agree i used to just leave the game running on this section

  • Chrono cross and Ff9 need to be HD'ed. Bottom line.

  • @VertebreakerXJS epic comment is epic

  • I've missed those times when this game was released back in the late 90's and never had a chance to play this. I'm going to get a PS1 emulator and play this 12 year old game...

  • @mrwn72 Can't say I feel too nostalgic about this or FF8 tbh. They feel almost like modern era games rather than old school to me. This game has pretty good graphics too. I start feeling nostalgic when it comes to games like FF7 and MGS1 though. Then again this one is a classic.

  • @mrwn72 Well if you have a PS3 or a PSP this game is now available to download from the PSN. Kinda pricy, but it is well worth it. This game is a classic.

  • No random monsters to worry about!

  • i used to turn this game on and just leave it to fall asleep to this song

  • i play it when i was in high school, now i have a family and i must go to work...but i miss that game

  • meee tooo

  • I need a PS1 emulator. This game...I've heard of it for 4 years now and I need to play it.

  • best game ever!!! i will never regret time spent playin this wonderful game :D highly recomend this game to everyone who never played it before!!!

  • i miss chrono cross.. going to download it for psp ~(a_a~)

  • @emmanuelecruz Good times.

  • @emmanuelecruz i miss it too!

  • @emmanuelecruz i miss the period when i played the game!

  • wow i've never played this game before but... great song. makes me wanna play

  • @3ephemeralWinds If you liked the music in Xenogears you might have to either play this game or get the soundtrack.

  • @3ephemeralWinds

Dude! You gotta give it a try through it's a beautiful game, story and soundtrack

  • anyone got a link to the whole length song?

  • @maxumusprime This song is called "Dream of the Shore Near Another World". You can find it from the original soundtrack and on youtube.

    /watch?v=ROKcr2OTgws

  • ugh..i miss this kind of game =((

  • *sheds a tear*

  • @AlexTriad - ...A Dragon Tear?

  • FUCK, Why don't we have these kind of games anymore. SCREW THIS DRAGON AGE MESS! Take me back to the old days.

  • @RonixEnclave Dragon Age is a mess I agree. But it's not Japanese series which tells a lot on its own. Good JRPGs are still made these days.

  • this is the only game that need remake not FFVII ..

  • As a tremendous gamer, as a future video game story developer, this music haunts me. This is the backbeat to the story, the flow which makes the story resonate with the player. I don't care how good a writer you are - if you have terrible music, the story dies. This music sticks, it's passionate, it delineates the world the player exists in. I want to interest the player with the writing and SNARE them with the music.

  • @JeniusRetard I don't know how much you can relate to this but I hope they'll start putting more attention on the overall difficulty. there are too many superb JRPGs that are just overly easy. Being a hardcore player that really puts me off these days. I agree with you though, along with good story it's always pleasant to experience these games with plenty of love being put to the score.

  • @JeniusRetard holy fucking shit, this is the best comment i've ever seen on youtube!!!

  • its like this soundtrack is etched into my soul

  • I'll be waiting for its PC version- it's a must have.

  • @Nieruz PC version?

  • @SinfulOcelot emulator

  • @Nieruz lol

  • @winterymint LOL? Watch it, I do not know what you mean.

  • Are you playing on an emulator or a real ps1??

  • @SleazySanjuro I'd swear this one was recorded on an emu since the copy I got of the game is not PAL and I can only record pal games on my PS2. I've played this game both on emu and on PS2 and it looks just as good on PS2.

  • @SinfulOcelot I've heard alot of good things about chrono cross. So I decided to download the game. And outta of all the hundred games i've downloaded for the emulator, this one just wouldn't work. I got as far as new game and the screen just turned black, sucks really. But it made me start playing FFVII again so it wasn't all that bad, lol.

  • @SleazySanjuro In some cases you gotta try lots of different settings to get it right. Very few games work best on same settings as the next one. I'm sure that's not gonna be a problem though unless that game u downloaded is broken or something haha. My problem with RPGs these days is that they're all damn easy. Might get back to some old skool ones :)

  • @SinfulOcelot Aight thanks dude. RPG games today have really changed man. One thing that's awful these days is the soundtrack of RPG games. It sounds like the composers don't even try anymore.

  • @SleazySanjuro Lol there's truth to that bro. Though there are still some less known titles that have better music than most of the ones in the 90s. Don't know if you're into RPGs the same way as me but if you're looking for some new ones I recommend checking out Shadow Hearts or Digital Devil Saga. Both of them are stylish and have great soundtracks.

  • @SinfulOcelot The name shadow hearts sounds very familiar. Though i've never heard of Digital devil saga. The title sounds cool.

  • @SleazySanjuro You might've seen SH videos on my channel, that may be it. DDS is cool as well. It's kinda like Final Fantasy games but turn based and way more bleak.

  • can u still buy this game? (i have ps3). I played Trigger and it has to be THE most EPIC piece of gaming EVER....

  • @muslimgiga Some online stores are bound to have it for sure. It's a great game with even greater soundtrack.

  • @muslimgiga pretty sure you can get it on ebay cheap

  • I always wanted to go to that little island right near Arni, but that isn't a place. Before I new much about the game I figured it's where you got Razzly and I pictured the whole island in my mind. Too bad you can't, it would've been cool I am sure.

  • i made a hip hop remix of this trax come see that on my page

  • LOL BLACK PEOPLE

  • doesn't get any better than this...didn't really care for the game as a whole, though

  • @lilross2k6 : it is still the best RPG I have ever played.

  • my thoughts exactly, neihter gameplay nor story got to me. However music and graphics were gorgeous

  • that post below was because someone dissed 3-d world maps. And like i said 7 had some awesome variations to the world map.

  • I truly love this game. Hell I'm gonna beat it again for old time's sake. Let me just pop it in my PS3.

    VIVA XI AND CHRONO CROSS!!!

  • ???? how can you play chrono cross on ps3 ?

  • He has the first PS3 model in which backwards compatibility is enabled

  • the game is on PS1 so it'll work on any PS3

  • i remember playing this game when it came out and when i heard this song for the first time... i just walked away from my tv letting this song play for hours lol.

  • Yeah it's long alright...

I've put a lot of time and effort but it seems im only halfway

  • 100x better than the ugly PS1 FF world maps.

  • bullshit. You blind, fanatic fool. I feel sory for your poor ass.

  • Crap. You ignorant, blind fanboy. I feel sorry for your stupidity. *facepalm*

  • Dude, riding the gold chocobo is the shit, never forget that.

  • the theme of the another world is just fantastic. I favourite this just for the music ^^

  • I totally agree. That was one of the reasons I uploaded this.

  • Hm which time era is that map?

  • Dunno. It's not said.

  • The events of chrono cross take time 20 years after trigger so 1020 ad

  • This maps reminds me a lot of FF9

  • yeah it does a bit hey

  • You don't fight random battles in this game. You see all enemies on the screen. Also there are no battles that start from world map.

  • @gusthejackrussell Probably because they are both made by the same company and in the same year.
