I am so blessed to have had the opportunity to meet Lucy, because she was friends with my great grandpa P'ea. He taught Lucy about how the plants in Hawaii can be used as medicine and my daughter got to talk to another patient there...Makia Malu-hope I got the last name right. Wonderful people and such a beautiful peaceful place, but so much sadness in the past.
I just spoke with the lady that runs the store in Kalaupapa and learned that ku ulei Bell has passed away a couple of years ago. The only request was for prayer for them all. 18 patients still reside there as of today. Please add them all to your prayer list !

@ProblmSolvd You stupid, immature little cunt; go away, wait until puberty has at least forced you to grow up physically if not mentally. If not, then maybe when youre about 30, come back on here and leave a comment. How fucking old are you? About 11 or 12 I would say, no older.
@ProblmSolvd you r so fucked up for thinking the way you think, you may be a kid with no brain, or a inmature adult> if this would of happened to you i promissed you that you wouldnt be thinking the way you do right now, you shoulg go to molokai and visit kalaupapa and see everything with your own fucking eyes, then there i will dare you to make fun of her in fron of her face, you dumb as fucking person with no feelings and brain. and i know you will reply to this with your inmature attitude
@ProblmSolvd ...Wow are you ever uneducated . You are good at hurling insults but not much else. And you call others immature? Learn how to spell first. You act like a spoiled little brat. Can you have a intellectual conversation without swearing? I doubt it. That is why your responses seem so out of place on this page. Grow up!!!
It's sad on the life they were given but it is what life handed them. These people are still human they still have hearts and it is through them that we should all take a look at how easy we have life being that we didn't go through what they have. They are our blessings and we can learn lots from them all.
@azurienn ihe got sick of it when they didnt had a cure for it, when they didnt had a way to stop it from transmitting. right now is ok to be around them
I believe you're right Jeffrey2002 when you say you would feel like you were a part of the family of Jesus. It seems like the broken are the ones who truly have a sense of gratefulness and it seems like even tho they're struggling, they're still such a light. May God continue to bless them... 'ofa lahi atu
i have been there, i took a mule, if i got lepresy i would not care really. the people are so nice. if i had the dease i would feel like i was part of the family of jesus.
Nice video. Very interesting.

@StMedicRic How about in stead of asking some ghost to help them. Why not help them yourself?

I am going to Kakaupapa next month. I didn't realize there were so many lepers still there. I heard there were "a few".
We are taking the mules down. Has anyone done that?
