wow!! I love this version. I think that she was much underrated...I have always liked her, she had a nice even voice... if you can understand what I mean..maybe I don't know how to explain it, but anyway, I like her version of this "tune" best of all..thx 4 posting...phyllis..

I think the original was done by Stu Phillips? maybe Bill Phillips in the summer of 1966.

In listening to that version, you can hear Dolly in the background (years later with better quality than my little transistor radio). The "Uncle" connection explains it.

There is an error on the description of this clip. It was Bill Owens (Dolly Parton's Uncle), not Buck Owens, who co-wrote the song with Parton.

Jan Howard does a wonderful version of this song.
