I always liked hearing his soothing tones during the NFL with Dick Enberg on Sunday Afternoons in the late 70's and early 80's. Also, I thought he was excellent on Little House on the Prairie. Being from Minnesota I had to watch that show when I was younger. I wish I could have met him as he just seemed like a great guy. You are going to be missed!!! My best to his family.

When they said that Merlin Olsen was a "football player' I had to laugh. Calling Merlin Olsen a football player is like calling the Beatles "a band" or Elvis "a singer". Merlin is the ONLY man in the NFL to have EVER been selected to the Pro Bowl 14 times in a row. Not to mention being the 1968 probowl MVP.
