This is a good video. Unfortunately music education is in trouble because music educators do not instill any respect or appreciation for music in their students. They do not want to waste any precious rehearsal time teaching music appreciation to their students. When those students become adults, they do not respect or appreciate instrumental music, listen to recordings of instrumental music, attend live performances of instrumental music, or actively support music education. It's very sad.
I dont want to live in a world without music.... I am a high school senior and I've wanted to teach music for a couple years now. My director is telling me I'm crazy to even try to pursue a career in it because he believes music education will no longer be a career within the next eight years. Something must be done!
music is what our culture is built on. if we take that from our children, then our culture is tken away. school is the only place now that you can teach it. if you takee it away from schools, by the time the next generation is finished with school, there will be no music, and therefore no culture.

who are we to let something so important like music just die??? WE WILL NOT!!!
i donated a violin and an acoustic guitar i dint needed, plus my university is num 1 in music in my country and i'm proud of my friends who are becoming music professors.
Music is one of the few constants that has been around since prehistory and will endure for the remainder of time. It is more relevant to life than any kind of mathematics. To remove it from schools is criminal and holds back the potential genius and joy of students. Save the music, save the world!
i've been in band since fifth grade, i'm now a freshman in high school. i never realized music was so much more then it seems to be. i play oboe and clarinet, but i prefer the oboe. (:
I agree with this video. Being in the band program changed my career outlook and had a drastic impact in my life. Every public school should have music programs so students can all enjoy the arts

Without music... I don't think I'd be who I am today. Everyone needs to experience the music in one way or another one time or another.
