The four quarters behind the bolt do not "magically" increase the fire rate in the gun, its just shortening the distance the bolt has to travel. You can kinda do this with real semi-automatic firearms, except obviously not using quarters.

With the weight of a standard .20gram bb and even a 6.03 barrel the resistance is minimal to the piston anyways. Now if you didn't properly lubricate your gun before firing it, that's your problem. I've not once has a gun break from dry fire. EVER. If your pushing 500fps dry firing can harm stuff, but the damage would be a cracked gearbox shell.

I had it custom made by Tokyo Marui. it fires .5g bb's and in Russia there aren't any restrictions like Ireland, UK, and USA. A sear design is better for fully auto than electric. I have a compressed CO2. It is bad to dry-fire any gun however. You may not notice damage, but over time it will make itself evident when you are buying a new body, gearbox, sear, ect. @371jon It's classified as a replica gun, therefore it is not a toy. It can also easily permanently blind you if you're shot in the eye even from a distance and from point blanc potentially kill you. It's important to take precautions and wear eye protection when playing airsoft for this reason. On a somewhat related note, all the fields I've been to do not allow players below the age of 14, at least without a parent or guardian present.

@wolfen150 Yes this has the potential to put out an eye but when i was in 8th grade playing with my buddies..I do not think my life was in danger playing with our airsoft guns. After about 10 years I've moved on to the real deal. Though I'm not shooting anyone for I do not have the need to take another human beings life I still enjoy shooting a fucking rocket of a .270 round down the range. I just don't see how a grown man could still enjoy airsoft, especially when there is paintball.

@371jon Thank you for giving a reasonable response. The reason grown men play airsoft has several reasons, starting with paintball is hella expensive. Airsoft guns also have a better ability to look more realistic and also with gas blow backs act very similar to real firearms, using magazines, working charging handles/slides etc. It's also been stated in forums I've looked through that airsoft can get further range and accuracy than paintball.

And you can buy paintballs in bulk buku cheap in 5 gallon buckets. C02 is cheap too. All I'm saying is in my perspective it's just a little childish. The rush you get from blasting a high powered rifle is so much more prime then dicking around with a gas operated toy bb gun...

The rush that I get comes from stacking up with my team on a corner or door and breaching a room. BTW, you call airsoft childish... when it's used in military and law enforcement training. I've volunteered at an event simulating a school shooting that used airsoft guns because the particular ones 1:1 scale and weight.
