  • This headset is ridiculous, the frequency response is 5-30,000Hz; which for a headset is before unheard of.

  • Buying these for a console is a complete waste...

  • If you didn't look like a complete fag / hipster, you'd be pretty professional.

  • LOADS EMONEH

  • It's basically a DT-770 with a microphone, not really worth it, just get some DT-770s and an external mic.

  • @eltocliousus

But the MMX 300 also comes with a stereo USB sound card. Do you also get that with the DT-770?

There are two versions of the DT-770 which version do you recommend? I think the impedance are different...

  • 4:15 for the sound quality review

  • Beyerdynamic did not have console gamers in mind while designing these. Only true gamers use PCs.

  • PLEASE RESPOND: I want a pair of these and I have the money. I have an Astro MixAmp RX. If I buy a convertor (What is the one Trent has, called?) will I be able to talk to people on Xbox Live and listen to the game the normal way?

  • @XArticRageX

He is using a Astro Mixamp with a Y Splitter for PS3 which is what i have, if you want to use it for Xbox you need the xbox chat cable for your astro mixamp which you can buy from their website

  • @Paragski Thank you so much!

  • @XArticRageX

    No Worries :)

  • @Paragski One more question, Trent says that the drivers were against his ears... as compared the Astro A40's is this uncomfortable? Because with the Astro's the drivers dont touch my ears but if they did I would imagine it would be uncomfortable.

  • @XArticRageX

Im not sure, I haven't got the MMX 300's I have got Astro's and Turtle Beach PX5's but for 300+ the MMX300's are a rip off they don't even have surround sound capabilities without a mixamp they are only stereo head phones, they sound like a total rip off.

  • @Paragski Hmm. Maybe they are lol. I never thought about that part. I really wish there was a store where I could try them since everyone gave great reviews but you defiantly are right about the stereo only unless you have a MixAmp. Thank you again :P You are a lot of help with me making the decision of buying these. :)

  • @XArticRageX

ANytime love to help :) Funny story for you I just got my PX5's in the mail today and my playstation died :( I didnt even get to try them out,but when I do i'll let you know ho w they are maybe you might want to get them instead they are supposed to be awesome.

  • @Paragski

For people who enjoy quality sound Stereo is the most important aspect. If you can get that right then having surround sound added to the mix is easy... All you need is a mix amp or a sound card and there you go...

  • @MrGrandDragon

I know how It work and I also know you need a mixamp all I was saying is I think it's not worth $350 if you are not getting surround sound out of the box, I wouldn't say they are high range gaming headsets then....

  • Booooooring

  • Is it the same as Beyerdynamic Qpad QH-1339?

  • they are a supplier through amazon for Beyerdynamic. DO NOT trust them. I have yet to see if Beyer will honor the refund.

  • , Will not let me return my product and that is why i'm upset, name of them is therecordingstore

  • now i have to call freaking germany to get a refund from one of their shit suppliers.

  • why bother. they make the ears too hot, they are heavy, and aren't that good for music. for gaming maybe but i was dissapointed.

  • jishosan you just proved my point in your response. Do you realize that? Also i'm using a formidable output that rocks on all headphones except these.

  • ahm, my ps3 is $250

  • Why don't you just wear contacts?

  • I tested these on an Xfi titanium output directly from card. Sound is way too low. A rip off being to get sound up requires one of their 'amplifiers' for 100 plus. F this company being they won't allow me to return a half ass headset.

  • @nonameavailableuser You don't need their amp, but expecting a set of high end headphones to NOT need an amp is ridiculous. High impedence is a FEATURE of high end headphones, not just an unfortunate consequence. The high impedence eliminates background noise and hiss that you might otherwise hear on cheaper headphones.

  • you were testing hi-end headphones for music using ipod? that just silly.

  • Snag 'em for $249.99 with extra improved $40 ear pads thrown in for free... They're on eBay and only two days left so go fast ;D

  • your hot

  • Thanks man, your review sealed the deal, I bought myself a set.

  • @mursumund me 2

  • short, squared, clear: I am french, and I love how you americans are structured when it is about analys. Very clean.

  • so you are a drummer? :D

  • Hey... on the Ear Piece is it connecting with plastic or metal? I keep Breaking mine from the ear pieces.. Need something stronger..

  • After watching this I subed to u liked the vid and ordred one for myselv ;) thanks u !

Make more and I will keep watching ur amazing work :)

  • how much would you pay for this ?

  • This guy is awsome

  • Everyone, I think Trent may be dead :( Y U LEAVE US TRENT!

  • I think it would of been better if the boom was removable.

  • bass in gaming headset is a nogo if u wanna hear footsteps and bullets etc, bass in gaming is for noobs

  • @rosswaa Or people who just want great sound quality to compliment a normal gaming experience. Bass is great for enjoying single-player campaigns like in Halo or Mass Effect.

  • @rosswaa The MMX300 still has a greater soundstage than similar headsets (like the A40 or the PC360). If you have a high quality headphone, a punchy bass won't get in the way of positioning. But some people don't seem to understand that...noobs.

  • @KaiserBecks yeh very true but its just another distraction that could be avoided thats why i like using a bass limiter and frequency preference, for css id lower it so i can hear across the map without a random bade gettin in the way

Games like cod a little bass is nice, for music and films its even better

  • i like these videos i watched all of them already they are all good keep up the good work

  • What is that splitter that you put into the mixamp? The 2 female 3.5mm to one male 3.5mm?

  • What happened to Trent???

  • U suck dick

  • hey akaTRENT you should review the turttle beach px5 and tell us what you think about them

  • Nice review, lots of good details. Wonder about to buy it ;)

  • fwsf

  • I LOVE my DT990s - and I can only imagine how good it would be if I had a worldclass mic hooked up as well. And you are right about the "too good" thing - I can hardly listen to even 320 Kbps MP3s with my Beyerdynamics - they are THAT good. Goddamn Germans don't fuck around with their audio.

  • Great review, impressive knowledge of headphones.

  • u must read this. once u have started there is no turning back. a little 10 year old girl was raped and murderded in 1945. her body was not found until 1947. then a boy last week read this and did not copy and paste this message. the dead girl appeared in his room haunting him and killed him. if you do not copy and paste this onto 10 vidoes in 30 minutes the dead girl will apear in your room tonight and haunt you and kill you. well you better start to copy and paste to be

  • Play Bad Company 2, 10x better sound then Black Ops

  • fuc* it a40 is the best

  • Hey man, if its possible could you do a review on the GameCom X95's? I've only seen a couple of decent reviews and if you did one it would be amazing, because in my opinion its a really underated headset. Its up to you if you want to spend the money on them or not, but I assure you it will be a great investment. Just give them a go is all I'm saying.

  • will you review the headphones by Dre?BEATS?

  • Overall for gaming, how does it compare to the pc360. (Directional cues, soundstage, hearing of small noises like footsteps)?

  • Hey trent, can u do a review of the Razer Chimaera headset????

  • @AvengedvR lol razer

  • @FPSdaybreaK lol

  • trent are you gonna review the steelseries siberia v2 ps3?

  • Can you do a review on the logitech g930 wireless gaming headse??? i am about to receive it and i wanna know your opinion!

  • how do you connect it to mixamp is it a splitter if so post link and if theres a better headset then this please do so post the link

  • @akaTRENT

Hey you do great product reviews, would you consider reviewing some of SteelSeries brand headsets?

  • Maybe do a Beyerdynamic DT-770 pro ?

  • so in short, its basically over kill for gaming. got it

  • Thanks for the review. Never would have looked at this headset otherwise.

I definitely get what you mean about the sound being "too good" for the compressed audio tracks. It's like, with my Sennheiser HD595s, they sound super crisp, clean, and good when driven by the $200 Asus Essence Headphone amp Driven sound card on my PC, but sound pretty crummy when driven by the Astro Mix-Amp.

  • Great review man. Thanks!

  • @akaTRENT AKG K 701?:)

  • I normally use my Tritton AXPro, however I just bought the Beyerdynamic Headzone Amp and the Beyerdynamic Tesla T1 headphones for movie watching. When using the combo for gaming the sound stage is amazing. Just hate being without a mic.

  • love your reviews man. you deserve way more views/subs for the amount of detail you put into your videos

  • Oh no! I only bought a pair of Sennheiser PC360s a couple of months ago after watching your review of that headset. Still, I couldn't justify the cost of the MMX 300. Is the QPAD QH-1339 really the same headset as the MMX 300? (It looks it). On amazon.co.uk, the PC360s are £127.29, the QPAD is £222.47 and the MMX 300 is £346.78. Big difference!

  • @dewidaniels the QPAD QH-1339 is exactly the same as the MMX300. It's OEM'ed by beyerdynamic. Both are a beyerdynamic DT770 32ohm with a boom mic.

  • can you do one for the p 11

  • @TheChocolateWontons I have the PX21s, P11s and Trittons AXPro. The P11s are great for it's price range. Very comfortable, but not very durable. If you play FPS shooter games like CoD, you can tell where footsteps are coming from with it's surround sound. Note: Only for PS3, idk about PC.

  • I got myself some Earforce PX21's, and they're pretty amazing!

  • Another winner from Beyerdynamic! Having owned two versions of the DT770 as well as a DT880 and DT990, I'm a big Beyer fan. I was considering the MMX300 as my gaming headset, but I really wanted an open ear design, so I went with the PC360. Great review Trent. :)

  • if i can come up with the money i might buy this! i also recently baught the astro a40 with mix amp great by btw but is this worth the very high price? or am i better off sticking with the astro atleast for now

  • omg omg omg cry astro bitches

  • Thankyou Trent for such an in depth review. Full of detail, swimming with accurate comparisons and as always; professionally put and wonderfully presented.

  • @JustARunoftheMill mostly free of arbitrary specs too ;) if it sounds good. it is good. and in this case, sometimes too good.

  • I have been WAITING for this review *pumps it up to 720p)

  • i Always Stick past the break !

  • @xMoneyman10 and this is why YOU are awesome.

  • @akaTRENT what do u mean stick past the break u mean the intro???

  • @akaTRENT would you recomend this or the DT 770 Pro? (i play alot of CS and listen to music and stuff)

  • @JeemOfRunescape economically speaking, the 770 pros can be found for less then 200, if you need a mic, Zalman Zm-Mic1 can be found for 11 bucks. That leaves you a good amount money for an amp if you need hookups to a console. (As apposed to a 350 dollar headphone) The bottom line is really a question if you have the 350 bucks to spend on these phones, I'm sure they are great but like the review said, you do not want to play compressed audio with these, it defeats the point of audiophile phones.

  • @K2YL

There are so many different model numbers on the Beyerdynamic website, things get really confusing. I really want to purchase the MMX 300 but the price is a killer for me.

Are you saying that the 770 Pro are almost identical to these ones? I don't need a Mic so if what you are saying is correct then that would be pretty awesome.

Also how would I get surround sound from these? I would think I need a sound card for pc and the mix amp for the PS3?

  • @MrGrandDragon

I am not in a position where I could tell you the difference, that said, I own the 80 ohms because most reviews have complimented the 770 pro 80s as 'the best' in solid and not bloated bass.

I also cannot tell you if the 770 pro 80s sound like the 300 since I do not own the 300s. I can say that the 770s meets all of my demands for movie, games and music.

I connect my 770s through a mixer surround sound device call JVC (or Victor) SU-DH1 connected to a FiiO e7 amp.

    chk pm!

  • @JeemOfRunescape I would get a Steelseries Siberia if I bought one

  • Finally! Thanks :)

  • do a review for the px5

  • @amrofab12 MLGsteggy is reviewing those

  • @akaTRENT

Hey can you test and review Turtle Beaches PX5 if you can get your hand on one, i am interested on buying them and i only trust your reviews :) Please

  • So Trent what's the better buy astro a40, sennheiser pc360 or this one? I'm looking to buy man thanks. I wanna know what the best deal is for what u get for the money

  • If you dont want a custom one and dont like the carbon look, you can check out the QPAD QH-1339. It's the same headset with a slighly lower price and different look

  • dude these headsets are so overpriced!! Its getting retarded! Theyre worth less than 150$ of their "original" prices...

  • @dudetube911 This headset is worth every single dollar. Trust me.

  • I've used the dt770(05ed 250ohm) almost everyday for five years and recently got a custom mmx300 and i have never ever had the wires get tangled in anything :) The wires are supposed to have like an s-shape that follows the yoke, making them almost invisible. They are not supposed to stick out. Did you test them with an amp? Will they benefit from one?

  • Hey Trent, will you be reviewing the Razer Onza?

  • @KleineNico you can look for Razer Carcharias reviews, they have the same drivers.

  • What the best headset you've come across? I own tritton ax pro's but I want to know if there's anything better out there.

  • @facefullofme This one.

  • aka TRENT do you ever give a bad review on anything? I'm just asking.

  • @akaTRENT i love you !!!

  • What mic do you use for the reviews?

  • Annotations later. Expect 3 more reviews. today. yes. I'm actually serious this time.

  • @akaTRENT Hopefully you don't have comcast internet. UPLOAD ASAP.

  • @RandomPinoy09 editing 2 uploading another 1 right now. sennheiser pc330 should be up in two hours or so. Then the specialist, The the scout. Then I pass out.

  • @akaTRENT Thank the lord. Senns have my eyes and I have both NOX headsets. Sadly, My Scouts' right bud got snagged so no more sound from that bud =[ Looking forward to them, brah.

  • 2nd :)

  • Second!

  • First reserved for Trent.
